Post actually tried out for a hardcore band named Crown The Empire. He can actually play guitar. I don’t get why people are talking so much crap here. Realistically, he is smiling and enjoying vintage highly praised gear, he isn’t buying it to smash it on the ground like a moron, he values the craft and the instrument. And now...it’s 2018 and nothing came close to Grunge’s popularity. @@bluesolace9052 Rock was still pretty fucking big up until 2010. Most groups were still actual bands, even if they were mostly emo and or pop punk. Metal was still pretty big too. That being said, the problem isn't that rock is dying. The problem is that people never want to accept change. Rock will never truly die. Much like how rock evolved from blues and even jazz, newer music can emerge from changes in how music is written. We may not get the classic sound of rock again, but there is still a chance that new exciting music inspired by elements of rock will emerge and take off.
The old men who need their diapers changed. Rock doesn't sell as it used to, and it's not making a comeback. At some point, hip-hop will die down too (if it hasn't already). It's the circle of life.

@@stevefrommars He adjusted the tone nobs and made it sound much better. In this case Post needed the help probably, it ended up being his favorite and imo had the best tone. The second SG sounded like it had its tone nobs all the way down or the treble set to zero probably cause the tone nobs were indeed set to zero or else that one was just a dud.

His music is hit-or-miss, but I enjoy it still because you can tell he's just taking bits and pieces of everything he loves and putting it together. There's always a little rock, a little rap, a little blues, a little country or folk. It's almost experimental in a way.

When i first saw Post here, i just figured he'd had a long night before but never said anything about his playing. I know how it is to show up cold and grab a guitar that's out of tune but would never do that on camera. He actually can play which is great. A little btw, i mentioned bailing after seeing the AMA thing, simply because i sometimes hear that tune he did 3 or 4 times a day. Its really not a bad little tune. Just sorta shocked by this whole thing. Seems like a cool guy, contemporary and loves guitars. That's great!

That being said, the problem isn't that rock is dying. The problem is that people never want to accept change. Rock will never truly die. Much like how rock evolved from blues and even jazz, newer music can emerge from changes in how music is written. We may not get the classic sound of rock again, but there is still a chance that new exciting music inspired by elements of rock will emerge and take off.
Rock doesn't need saving. Metallica, slipknot, a7x, 5fdp, shinedown, godsmack, kse, ozzy, etc, are doing fine keeping rock alive.

The second SG sounded like it had its tone nobs all the way down or the treble set to zero probably cause the tone nobs were indeed set to zero or else that one was just a dud.

Even though I don't listen to rap or hip hop, I respect the hell out of Post Malone that the fact that he can play and succeed at the guitar.
He’s a rapper and producer , he’s a decent rhythm player; a lot of respect for this guy.
All the dudes hating might be better guitar players but bet non of y’all can ever top him producing and writing. Guitar players are the most envious and toxic people sometimes.

Its just funny Post is catching some hate on this video. Because on this same channel people are bitching about the death of the electric guitar and how young people arent playing guitar anymore. Well here you have currently one of the biggest names in music, especially to the potential guitar buyers of tomorrow, and yall are giving him shit because he isnt showboating and playing a million notes a minute to show hes spent his whole life practising scales...thats what Bonamassa is for. Some of you guys are hypocrites man.
At 45 years old I don't pay much attention to newer "talent" when it comes to top 40 and such. It's refreshing to see a guy that isn't just a mumble rapper and is actually a musician. I couldn't tell you a Post Malone song if I heard one but I can say the more I see of him the more I respect and like him.

I had no idea the guitar community was so uppity and snooty, I can't believe how many guitar "know it alls" are whining in the comments. Post plays and loves the guitar & big deal if he isn't holding it "proper" or if he can't play like SRV. It's funny how everyone claims to play the guitar like a god in the comment section yet you obviously weren't good enough to become anyone that we know so you look ridiculous talking down about someone who has gone further than you in music. In a million years I would have never guessed that the guitar community was just as uptight and snooty as the beauty or car community. It's a damn shame.
I hear ya. I can't believe the negative crap I'm reading on here. Like wow, really? Miserable trolls are putting down a kid for wanting to try out (and likely buy) a nice guitar to better himself as a musician, when he obviously enjoys it and would help keep the kid out of trouble. Am I a fan of Post? No, I never even heard of him until a few weeks ago.
I didn't realize one had to reach a certain level of snooty boring jazz chord prowess or metal speed shredding to be considered an actual guitar player, be it hobbyist or pro.... Some people are just wallowing in negativity and have nothing nice to say, due to their own failure in life. They say it's unsuccessful people who criticize and put down others. I truly believe that after seeing these comments. Stay classy.
Have you never read comments on a norm’s video? If there’s one community that is “uppity and snooty” about anything it’s the guitar community. So this doesn’t really come as a suprise
Guitar has one of the worst communities out there. Full of elitism, pride and traditionalism, there’s a reason why it’s beginning to fade

When i first saw Post here, i just figured he'd had a long night before but never said anything about his playing. I know how it is to show up cold and grab a guitar that's out of tune but would never do that on camera. He actually can play which is great. A little btw, i mentioned bailing after seeing the AMA thing, simply because i sometimes hear that tune he did 3 or 4 times a day. Its really not a bad little tune. Just sorta shocked by this whole thing. Seems like a cool guy, contemporary and loves guitars. That's great!

Guys need to lay off post. Dude is pretty talented. One of the few mainstream rappers who has roots in actual music. Check out his early videos. He covers dylan, Nirvana, ect. Also has some background in metal I think. Listen to “I fall apart” great song with real emotion.
Auditioned for a metalcore band but string snapped. Lool up Crown The Empire. Not a band I listen to but it's closer than what his actual main genre is
