Think about exponential vs linear growth. Joker's moveset is like the exponential graph, as in to say that he is difficult to use at first but once you start excelling later on the real potential starts to show. Simply put, think of metaknight from brawl. It took a while before people began to see that metaknight had this extra edge of potential that designated him as clearly superior. Hopefully I've managed to convey something to you here

Idk why people hate on Leo so much. He's shown extremely consistent high level gameplay and understanding of Smash. Never once seen him act nasty towards an opponent. Joker's not broken, MKLeo is just that good. You can tell he really understands how to play the character and enjoys doing so. None of the other characters he's mained ever fit him quite right. I hope we'll see much more of him in future tournaments.

I have watched this set many times since I love watching both Joker & PT but every time I watch it, the more I realize how insanely unprofessional the commentary is. They give absolutely no credit to MKLeo's plays, how he makes excellent reads and does masterful conditioning. They are so hyperfocused on Tweek that their whole energy changes depending on if Tweek is losing or winning. Before anyone says they are rooting for Underdog, I just want to ask, has the definition of the underdog in Smash changed so much where it means #2 Ranked player in the world? Also shouldn't commentators try to be unbiased? These commentators are not even trying in the slightest to be unbiased. MKLeo must feel sad when he watches these sets where he plays so well but the commentators do such a piss poor job in commentating his gameplay to the viewer and give him no credit. Hope Smash EVO next year has better commentary.
You’re right about commentators needing to be unbiased. Although what you said about tweek not being an underdog is wrong. Leo is so dominant he makes the 2nd best in the world look like an underdog. In fact, he’s so dominant ppl take his skill for granted which naturally has the effect of ppl rooting more for his opponent. People don’t deny Leo’s skill, they’re just tired of seeing him win.
Cinnpie, who I’m pretty sure is the female commentator, has her problems commentating because she’s one of 2 types of commentators regularly, and it felt like for this GF she tried to be the more analytical type, even though she’s usually the hype type. She did her best though, I don’t usually see her commentate.

Is it just me or were Coney and Cinnpie extremely biased toward Tweek? I feel like the energetic tone severely dissolved after that fourth game in the first set. Commentators are meant to be unbiased and so I think that they should at least try to show equal amounts of interest to each player. I have watched this set many times since I love watching both Joker & PT but every time I watch it, the more I realize how insanely unprofessional the commentary is. They give absolutely no credit to MKLeo's plays, how he makes excellent reads and does masterful conditioning. They are so hyperfocused on Tweek that their whole energy changes depending on if Tweek is losing or winning. Before anyone says they are rooting for Underdog, I just want to ask, has the definition of the underdog in Smash changed so much where it means #2 Ranked player in the world? Also shouldn't commentators try to be unbiased? These commentators are not even trying in the slightest to be unbiased.
MKLeo must feel sad when he watches these sets where he plays so well but the commentators do such a piss poor job in commentating his gameplay to the viewer and give him no credit.
