  • In this video we'll show you how to create and use a Windows 10 bootable USB Recovery Drive. A recovery drive is highly recommended, as it can be used to repair and/or recover your PC if you have a hardware failure or if Windows just won't start up. And because it contains a full copy of Windows 10, you can use it to reinstall Windows again if you ever need to.
Windows Know How provides simple, step-by-step tech tips, tricks and tutorials on how to get the most from Microsoft’s Windows 10 operating system. Here's just some of the things you'll learn with our channel:
    • How to navigate Windows faster, whether you're using the mouse, keyboard or touch with Tablet Mode.
    • How to customize how Windows looks and sounds using Themes, making it as unique and individual as you are!
    • How to boost productivity and get more done in less time with Task View, Virtual Desktops, Jump-Lists and lightning-fast Search.
    • How to work smarter with Windows 10's built-in apps like OneNote and OneDrive, so you can access your files from anywhere and from any device.
    • How to optimize Windows 10 for speed, security and stability in order to make it faster, safer and more responsive.
    • How to back up and restore your personal files using the built-in set-and-forget backup tools and never lose any precious data again.
    • How to find and fix system problems using Windows 10’s built-in troubleshooting, repair, restore, reset and recovery tools.

So when I load the USB boot menu, it asks which keyboard I use.. then proceeds to show these options: "Continue, Use a Device, Troubleshoot, Turn off PC". As the video says to do, I choose Troubleshoot. In that menu, there does not exist a reset PC option. The options are: "Startup Repair, CMD, Uninstall Updates, UEFI Firmware Settings, System Restore, and System Image Recovery". I tried the last two options as they seem to be the closest to factory resetting windows, but these only let me load from a previous recovery point, which I don't have any. Additionally, I tried to "Use a Device" at the main menu and selected my USB recovery disk, which was created from another windows PC, all just to restart the PC and send me back to that same menu.. Help please.

I just created recovery usbs on my Windows 10 and 11 laptops, and they all required a 32 GB usb.

My computer says it won't use my recovery flashdrive. So frustrating. What a waste.

Great tutorial but just had a few questions. I'm unable to get any restore media for my Asus laptop so, I've been trying to create one just in case something happens. I have 2 hidden partitions -- Recovery (1.7GB) & Restore (17.5GB). Is it possible to make a recovery USB stick with those exact partitions, and have it bootable to reinstall? (Either or not sure which one). I can currently do a reset no issue so, I'm just wanting to make it just in case. Ty
