    Don't know if any have had this issue when creating a Windows 10 System Image but I tried to successfully create a system image 5 times and each time the status would reach 97% then stall and never fully complete. Then a thought dawned on me and that was to NOT hide my desktop icons and make sure the "Show desktop icons" was selected from the right mouse click desktop context menu. I was finally able to create a Windows 10 System Image after much frustration! 😃👍

      That makes absolutely no sense. But then it's Microsoft, which has built a global monopoly on operating systems that make absolutely no sense, so I guess that shouldn't be surprising.

    Very nice tutorial, thank you so much. But I´d like to know if the complete restoration will include all the installed programs and their settings, system settings, files, fonts, etc., or just the system files. I´m looking for an easy alternative to Acronis full restore that will restore the entire PC to a previous state without needing to install everything all over again.

    Great video. Question, I have an external drive and I have two PC's, one with Windows 11 and the other one with Windows 10, can I save the images on the same SSD external drive? So if I ever need to do an image restore, the PC can select which one wil work? Or does each image drive have to be saved on two different external drives?

      Thank you. Try this:
      1- Make a Backup of your computer with the method I showed here
      2- Restore this backup to your new computer. This should restore the applications with their product keys
      3- Delete the files you don't want
      4- Do not delete the old computer before making sure everything you need is transferred to the new one

    I have a 2TB external HDD, I have some files on it which I don't want to lose them on format. My windows drive is a 250 GB SSD, is it possible to make a 250 GB partition on my external HDD and create the Backup Image on that partition?

    • @KnowledgeSharingTech
      @KnowledgeSharingTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you can shrink the partition using Disk Manager. Open Diskman in Windows, right click the volume of 2TB and select Shrink Volume. Of course this will work only if you have empty space on the 2TB drive.

    Windows often says “ not enough space”. System is 100gb, backup disk is 250gb. It tells me there is no enough space. It has been 20 years, Don’t know why windows never make system backup easier.

    • @KnowledgeSharingTech
      @KnowledgeSharingTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      Windows uses a Snapshot to make a backup. If your system drive doesn't have a room for a Snapshot, you will get a "not enough space" message

    • @gengpan

      @@KnowledgeSharingTech so it is my system disk size too small. i thought it means the hard drive for backup storage. it is wired design by windows.
