And the question we should ask ourselves before jumping to conclusions such as “to destroy the church” is to know the reason why the Pope would suggest such thing. Popes can be mistaken but not stupid. In my opinion Pope Francis’s concern is to be careful in not “abusing” the liturgy in which the homily becomes the focus rather than Christ in the Eucharist. @@renanrobertocosta5585 Thanks. Bishop, with the popularity of podcasts we know that people are capable of listening to more than an 8 min homily. It's more about the QUALITY of the homily than its length. (we could listen to yours all day!)
Sermons need to be as long as they need to be to feed the flock and the world! It's not length that is important, but content. And, you Bishop Barron, are so gifted. You know what the world needs and you feed us. God bless you and your mission.
I agree with fellow commentators, I could listen to you all day. You open the eyes of my mind which helps me grow into a closer relationship with my Lord. So glad you linked today's sermon with the rose window you spoke of some weeks ago; it resonated with an earlier one in which you mentioned the " wheel of fortune ". God bless you and our dear Holy Father.
I’ve been listening to you Bishop since your homilies on the radio in Chicago. How much I have grown in wisdom because of you. I can’t get enough of hearing the Truth!
Dear Bishop Barron, I listen to your daily sermons most everyday, especially on my works days at a trauma 1, level one hospital as a case manager nurse. Your words helps me focus on the patients needs and supporting my co workers in all levels of professions. Thank you for your guidance.
One minute of a "Let's All Be Good" sermon is too long. But a sermon mining the mystical depths of the Scriptures -- wherein lies food for those blessed with everlasting life -- is never too long.
Whenever I listen to your homily I keep looking at the time, to see how long more can I enjoy it! Thank you Bp. Barron , and glory and praise to our Lord Jesus!
Thank you for the wisdom, Bishop Barron. You’ve laid out the keys to a fulfilling, joyous Christian life in such plain terms. Your sermons are a blessing and nourishment for the soul
Dearest Bishop. I’m no intellectual and your sermon on the beatitudes is now demystified for simpletons like me. So thank you, Bishop, for explaining the Beatitudes like Jesus explained his parables to his apostles ❤
Thank you for a beautiful homily. Along the lines of many other viewers’ remarks, we thank you for not setting an egg timer (or ignoring it). The Good News should not be constrained by the editorial imperatives of a TikTok video or the afternoon soccer schedule. We delegate control over the homily to the Holy Spirit and trust His faithful servant, Bishop Barron, will take the appropriate amount of time to give life to his message…be that 8 minutes, 88 minutes, or 888 minutes. God bless you!
In a way, we always look past. 10:30 a. m. Mass. NFL kickoff is looming, Ma's pot roast needs to get out of the oven...so many things we allow to distract us from what many will say is the most important 'hour' of the week!
There's nothing wrong with longer sermons, if they're wonderful! I live in Italy, and I think that Pope Francis' comments possibly refer to a situation that is all too common here, where a priest will sometimes speak for 15 or 20 minutes just off the top of his head. The result is, not surprisingly, nothing like a Bishop Barron sermon!
No worries about the length of Bishop Barron and other gifted preachers' sermons! I could listen ALL DAY! Actually, it's a habit of Fr. Mike Schmitz to say "last thing", like he's apologizing for talking too long. NO! In fact, I usually hear him say that and am sad! We are blessed to have these two men in our current times. May God bless them!
Wonderful! Now we pray that the Catholic Church becomes united again, instead of being so divided, especially by restricting or not allowing the faithful to worship God in the way the saints worshiped. That won’t makes us happy. Bishop, you love the great Tradition of the Church. Please stand for everyone, including those who love the usus antiquior of the Roman Rite. Thank you for your powerful homilies!

I can remember who was the former protestant who said he was used to 40-minutes sermons and when he first saw a Catholic priest preaching his homily in under 15 he was like "that's it?" As a former protestant myself, I tell you you can easily spend 20 and I'll find it concise 😁

@@zionlion4445 Do appreciate your presence. The line comes at 3 minutes and 31 seconds into the video. I used the English 'happiness' for 'beatitudo' which Bishop has in the Sermon. *"The key to our beatitudo is being forgiven for my sins."* (3: 31-3: 36) It's in context of the 2nd Beatitude, "Blessed are the sorrowful, for they shall be comforted" and the explanation begins from 1: 56 onwards in the video. Bishop, with the popularity of podcasts we know that people are capable of listening to more than an 8 min homily. It's more about the QUALITY of the homily than its length. (we could listen to yours all day!)
I just returned from Mass and yet couldn’t wait to listen to your sermon on the Beatitudes.
You can never talk long enough for me. I want to make sure I have more understanding and teaching. Thank you.
I can listen to you all day! This is wonderful...the Key to Happiness. Thank you Bishop Barron and God Bless you always!
I’ve been listening to you Bishop since your homilies on the radio in Chicago.
How much I have grown in wisdom because of you.
I can’t get enough of hearing the Truth!
I've never heard the Beatitudes like this EVER! What an eye opener. Bless you
Preach as long as you want, Bishop. It's never boring.
Dear Bishop Barron,
I listen to your daily sermons most everyday, especially on my works days at a trauma 1, level one hospital as a case manager nurse.
Your words helps me focus on the patients needs and supporting my co workers in all levels of professions.
Thank you for your guidance.
Am grateful for your beautiful message!! I am hungry!! Hungry for spiritual companionship!! Amen!! Praise God!!
One minute of a "Let's All Be Good" sermon is too long. But a sermon mining the mystical depths of the Scriptures -- wherein lies food for those blessed with everlasting life -- is never too long.
Never too long! In fact, it was so good, I listened twice!
Whenever I listen to your homily I keep looking at the time, to see how long more can I enjoy it! Thank you Bp. Barron , and glory and praise to our Lord Jesus!
Thank you Bishop Barron, never to long, always great teaching and insight. Very glad you’re back in the Midwest
Great 13 minutes!! Peace be with you
The Sermon on the Mount is one of my favorite Bible passages. Thanks for the breakdown of the Beatitudes.
I love you, Bishop Barron.
The Holy Spirit speaks so beautifully through you.
Live in the Present. Live and Love in His Presence... 🙏
I am always hungering for more! Never too long! God bless you and all of us privileged to hear God speak to us through your heart and soul!!
Thank you Your grace ...I love all your teachings...you explain well.
Your sermons are never too long. God bless you Bishop!!!
This is one of the finest homilies of Bishop Barron. Oh! How much I love this man of God!
Thank you very much for your beautiful sermon Bishop Barron.God bless you very much.
What's wrong with longer and wonderful sermons? Nothing! Thank you, good Bishop Barron! 🙏
Longer does not imply wonderful.
I could listen (and have listened) to you for hours.
“What is holiness? Friendship with God…” Thank you, My Lord ❤
Thanks Bishop Robert Barron. Please, pray for my marriage, my family. May God look and listen to your prayers for me. God bless you. Thanks 🙏
I have learnt so much from your beautiful interpretation of the Beatitudes. God bless you Bishop Barron.
God bless you, Bishop Barron. You have helped me grow in faith so much over the last several years.
Thank you bishop barron very good ok aloha and have a bless week
Thank you God Jesus Christ Pastor Hon'ble Dr. Bishop Robert Barron Ministries World for Family & Children's Blessings in Sweet Heart Jesus Mighty Name I pray. Amen Hallelujah praise the Lord. 🌋🎉🌋🎉
Pure biblical preaching. Closest preaching I think I know to that of Jesus himself. An inspiration to us as preachers and disciples.
I could listen to Bishop Baron's sermons all day.
I can never get enough of your insightful sermons Father Barron. Please don't shorten the length of your videos. Keep going. God bless!
I feel pretty blessed as a Homecare worker who happens to be a member of a 12-step group. I've learned not to throw the first stone, and since my burnout God has presented me with wonderful insights on how to apply my faith and my program in ALL areas of my life.I pray the Holy Spirit leads me to attend Church in my neighborhood where I can fully express my worship with believers!
Expressions of love and empathy for most of my fellow humans have deepened greatly as I faced many calamities lately, but as I emptied all my cares GREAT MIRACLES have quieted storms and lead me to believe that every day he has potentially wonderful works prepared as his Spirit leads me!!
I can remember who was the former protestant who said he was used to 40-minutes sermons and when he first saw a Catholic priest preaching his homily in under 15 he was like "that's it?"
As a former protestant myself, I tell you you can easily spend 20 and I'll find it concise 😁
Happy are those who hear longer homilies from you.
You are a wonderful representative and expositor of the Faith. Thank you for your faithfulness to Our Lord.
Thank you, Bishop Barron for this great homily & all that you do to bring Christ to the culture.
This is the best explanation I have heard on the beatitudes! Thank you! Thank you!
Praise God for good and holy pastors. Love and prayers. Long live jesus christ. ❤
Always looking forward to your homilies
God bless you Bishop Barron
Omg I needed this so much! Thank you sooo much Bishop Barron I could hear you for hours and I don’t get tired ❤ Lord give me the strength to follow Your path of happiness God bless us always ❤
Happiness is being perfectly united to God forever ❤.
Being an inspired speaker is a gift, and sadly, not all clergymen have it🤷🏼♀. But some are so blessed and Bishop Barron especially so. I could listen to him preach for hours, no problem!
"The key to our happiness is being forgiven for our sins." - Bishop Robert Barron
Dear Mary, did Bishop Barron say this in this sermon, or at another time? I ask, because I love this quote, and I just listened to this sermon for a second time, and I didn't catch it. I will just have to listen to it again.
Thank you, Mary!
God bless you and I wish you a blessed weekend! 💘🙏💘

Do appreciate your presence.
The line comes at 3 minutes and 31 seconds into the video. I used the English 'happiness' for 'beatitudo' which Bishop has in the Sermon. *"The key to our beatitudo is being forgiven for my sins."* (3: 31-3: 36)
It's in context of the 2nd Beatitude, "Blessed are the sorrowful, for they shall be comforted" and the explanation begins from 1: 56 onwards in the video.
Stay blessed as always⭐💖🙏
Insightful and thought provoking (as usual)thank you Bishop Barron). Pope Francis's comments regarding 8 minutes (or less) for poor preaching that is ill-prepared and indulgent would be our blessing! B Barron is in rare homilist company with engaging knowledgeable commentary; he cares deeply about God and the Church and each one of us, and this resonates deeply. Preach on Padre, many of us thirst for this after or before attending our own Parishes. God bless you for your goodness.
I would never say disobey but in truth your sermons/homilies are never too long. I love that you never "dumb down" my faith, but as a true shepherd you lead me through God's word so that I may understand and live it. I pray God Bless You and I thank you for your "Yes" to God in living as a holy priest and always boldly & unabashedly leading us to Heaven!
Brilliant sermon, Bishop. Blessings to you.
We don’t need shorter sermons - we need meatier sermons which challenge and inspire. Like yours, Bishop Barron
Very basic. Very scriptural. Very down to earth. Very inspiring. -An inspired Protestant
Not too long at all. The words of Bishop Barron are inspirational 👍❤️
I'm not Catholic, yet I stumbled on, probably by the Holy Spirit, this teaching and I'm really enjoying it. Thank you
Bishop Barron, I'm so hungry and thursty for the good news I'll take sermons greater than 20 minutes please
