Okay, so this has been up for 3 months and has 49 views. I feel the need to give some feedback. This is superb! I feel like you spent hours and hours on this only for no one to hear it. Like a hidden gem. You nail this hard, like with the Goldeneye remix on your channel by not redoing it not how "you think" it should sound - but by just taking what was there before and enhancing it. What a great job.
Thanks David, this Turok one was more done on impulse after recreating the first two tracks, I had to go all the way and do the rest of the soundtrack. Not many places to share online for Turok related forums etc. I appreciate the feedback!
I agree wholeheartedly. Alot of composers put their second rate spin on classic video game soundtracks. All of the older video game pieces are written with the tech limitations in mind, and push those boundaries, making for unique sounds/pieces. This preserves the integrity of the original piece.
@@brandonwiebe8132 This is boss level stuff man. Great job. Reliving my childhood listening to this version. I always appreciated a Live Orchestra version with much merits to Darren. Much needed in the future of gaming. Great job once again
@@brandonwiebe8132 I feel I must also express my appreciation as someone who played Turok a fair bit in his childhood. Usually composers who remake or re-arrange video game soundtracks seem to think that the original piece was lacking in some way and change it a bit too much.
My fav videogame soundtrack of all time. It's so unique and no other game has come close to replicating the atmosphere this soundtrack gave the game. This remake is so awesome. Thank you for giving us this. You can hear the passion of your work in the quality of this.
Turok is a really underappreciated game series, it doesn't have a specific technological advance attached to it that makes it as easily memorable as Unreal or Half Life, but it had such an amazing atmosphere, 2 was even better. Great version, as other commenters have said on your video, it's the closest thing to what my 6 year old brain imagined it sounding like! (Why did my parents let me play this?)
Yeah, you don't hear much about it these days, but it's a solid early true 3D FPS. It's the reason I played Goldeneye with 1.2 control style and still prefer playing modern FPSes with southpaw thumbsticks.
Awesome work! Somehow the TUROK 1 soundtrack always brings me right back to the good old days - even more so than the already great OSTs of GoldenEye, SM64, Bomberman 64 or Banjo Kazooie for example. I wish they'd quality reboot the series in the style of the 1. game with todays possibilities. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
I love these remakes dude, im making a video rn and i can't get enough of these. they help me focus Bro, Brandon, you're a legend. Legit. Much love Slapped a phat like on this banger album remake the second time today first was the golden eye remake you made next ill listen to the legend of zelda remake prolly gonna slap a gian't like on there too a huge like on there prolly gonna sub and might shout your work out in my video just cos keep up the good work brandon the lords work the work -- ...of the GODS
I've just started playing the HD remaster on PS5 and just started the Catacombs level. When I first heard the Ancient City track I was breathtaken. I felt like I wanted the game to throw all the dinosaurs and enemies at me whilst I run and take them down. This remix really does the original track justice, especially if this was say for a reboot or a remake. You really nail the atmosphere with the choice of instruments, especially the distortion guitars near the end.
It would've been sick if something more like this was heard in the PC release. THe PC version of the OST sounds a little lackluster, only replacing a few instruments with less "punchy" sounds.

i cant remember if i heard such a good music on TH-cam with such few viewers. Thats crazy.
This is so good. I like how you only subtly changed the music from original but the layers of synth meleodies are outstanding!
Ancient City is a killer track!
This is outstanding. Thank you so much.
Thank you for this

lovely remake!
Wow this is superb, great job! I don't understand the lack of views but I guess Turok 1 is fairly under appreciated in general (could be wrong)

It's a really good remake. Shame it's missing the last track (the Campaigner's theme). Did that one just not inspire you ?
