Hi important video. You are captivating, You, Your 'animals' and everything. Omg beautiful landscape. Did not know about Bob Ross before . There are so many wonderful beings on this Earth. When it comes to sickness and guinneapigs I have noticed they are often sick when they are about to die. (luckily not allways) Twice I went to ordinary vets, both times my babies died shortly after. Will allways go to exotic vets after this experiences. Please go to expertis with Your babies. And dont wait for better times when You spot odd behaviours when it comes to health. And be careful with winds. Guinneapig are so sensitive to streaming winds. Take care everyone. Life is a treasure. Never forget. Love, M
Hope your piggies get better. I unfortunately lost one, it happened so fast I couldn't take him to the vet right away, he passed before I could take him. He was 5 years old, so now I got two males left. Cage mates, unfortunately these two can't stand each other, tried to bond them but that didn't work so the separation bar went back up.
Now I know why I love Bob Ross he was a big animal lover :3 also I hope the boys are good :3 Also piggy smalls is so dramatic xD he like what did they just put in me !
Your 2 failed fosters, together in harmony. It's still the sweetest thing to see them happy together, but i do hope they are feeling much better soon. Merry Wheeking Christmas Scotty, BB, all of the guineapigs and the fishy folk 😘💟💕🎉❄
Scotty, I’m sorry to hear Nails not feeling good. Hope the medicine takes the fluid off of him. Piggy, Eat Buddy???? Hoping both are on the mend soon. 🎄 🐹 Merry Christmas to you and all the boys. 🐹🎄 Angie
Sounds like what they call "congestive heart failure" in humans. It's a build up of fluids in the body, it particularly likes to pool in the chest cavity. As the heart & lungs expand & contract water/fluids fill up the small void created. This makes it very difficult to breath and for your heart to beat because every time either of them expands they're fighting against all the fluid built up in the chest cavity. Lasik helps by making you pee like a freaking racehorse to expell excess fluids. I know of which I speak, spent too much time in the hospital over this and I'm still on lasik now. So I just wanted to clarify that's it's not fluid IN the lungs, which is what you said, that would be pneumonia, but rather fluids around the lungs and chest cavity. Good luck, glad the boys are basically fine, better to get them checked out to be safe. Has it really been a year since you got Nails? OMG he turned out to be such a handsome little man!
one of my guinea pigs had this problem, he actually got over it on his own and it only happened whenever I had the window open or there was a draft basically he just got a little cold and it affected his lungs. I did have him treated for the whooping when it first occurred after that I did leave it cause he wasn't suffering but yeah a lot of guinea pigs will just pass away after that and boy this one just lived through so much junk I was very impressed

My Pomeranian was on lasix for heart failure and it made him super thirsty and dehydrated. His kidneys suffered. I hope it doesn’t affect piggies like that. I love following Nails story! Please keep making videos! My girl piggy has pneumonia and is on her third round. I’ve been looking at piggy xrays since September. She’s got a light area in her lungs similar in size and density of her heart. Im super stressed but watching your channel and Saskias keeps me distracted.
Bless them!.Good to get them checked. You cant be too careful with these little ones.Would Piggy Smalls benefit from having some porridge oats in a bowl? When I have poorly piggies it helps them recover their weight.I know you know what youre doing so you probably thought of that!! Glad they were ok. :)
I understand your concern for Piggy Smalls. He doesn’t look as bright as Nails, like he’s a little under the weather. The joy of having a chubby and skinny guinea pig living together. I have 2 sets of this dynamic. I usually just end up with one chubby pig, because I can’t starve one of them! It usually means getting yelled at by the vet. So everyone seems to be doing well inspire of their weight. My 2 skinny boys are fed constantly, but they are super active, so I can’t seem to put any weight on them. They live with couch potatoes- go figure. I let my piggies chose their mates, so I guess opposites attract.
linlouwho123 I have the same issue. I have two fat young cats and two skinny old cats and have to leave food accessible for the latter two so they keep their food stable. If I try to put their food in a restricted feeder, the old cats think they will starve and scream.
linlouwho123 I have 4 happy cats, the two younger ones are just fat but not omg they’re being abused fat (they’re on diet food). The old ones are both 17 and the young ones are 4 and 3 so unfortunately or fortunately this situation won’t last long.
@@erkheth lol i had a lot of extra panels after building my big cage and we thought for a day or 2 we might have to take one in so was getting prepared I also plan to make a 3x3 medi cage incase one needs to be separated for longer than a trip to the vet.
I hope they get better soon. I know how scary it is when your Guinea Pig is sick. I have been there for about 3 weeks. My Cinnabon is a lot better now 🤩 but still not 💯. We may re- visit the vet again
Give piggie smalls a teaspoon of raw preservative free oats, 99c store has a huge bag, or Walmart has them too, with a table spoon of natures salad for breakfast also at Walmart. I do this too keep their weight stable.
Awwh their so sweet. My guys had a vet visit today. They're being treated for lice 😒. My vet told me the lice can come from hay. I did buy them different hay. I normally give them oxbow but I tried something different and they didn't eat it anyway. My poor babies are all itchy.
@@ScottysAnimals thanks Scotty. My vet called them walking lice. Is that the same thing???. They're being treated for them and they also have antibiotics and probiotics.
Im having a problem with my two female guinea pigs. Today is saturday and last thursday (2 days ago) I got my first guinea pig, Brookie. Then on Friday (1 day ago) we got Mocha. They were both from the same store and shared the same cage, knowing eachother since birth for 6 months. Brookie was hand fed an apple by my sister and Mocha just had an apple in front of her that she was eating. My mom also pet Brookie before she pet Mocha. That following night Mocha was attacking Brookie and chasing her. Mocha would bite Brookie as well. Today my mom helped my sister and I hold our guinea pigs separately in our room. I held Mocha and my sister held Brookie. Everything went well. When we tried cuddling them later today, they were scared and Brookie kept running away from my sister trying to hide next to Mocha in the bed but Mocha kept biting her. How do I get them to get along? How do my sister and I gain their trust? Please help!
Hey Scotty! I'm getting boars tomorrow (AAAH I'M SO HAPPY) but I have a question, I've been watching many videos about proper guinea pig care, but I just came across a boar health check video, and I want to ask, how often do you do those health checks? I really want to give them the proper care 😄
Boar cleaning, every 1 or 2 months is okay. Depends on how clean they stay. Where are u getting them? Are they already bonded? Did you watch my bonding rules video? th-cam.com/video/NWaAg5n21RA/w-d-xo.html
Could the move to the desert and a dryer climate effect them. I know when's I lived in CA and drove from the Van Nuys to Palm Springs to see my parents, my body did not like the change.
Good news. I'm pleased for them. Scotty I have a question one of my boys has had 2 lots of surgery for bladder stones again he has symptoms despite meds to reduce risk of more stones should I put him through surgery a 3rd time. I'm really upset
Your piggy smalls looks just like my baby guinea pig panda and he sneezes A LOT and I'm concerned about it I just hope he's not sick, but should I take him to the vet if I'm not sure
Hey Scott , I have a question on one of my guinea pigs that passed away from a mystery illness 7 months ago . A week before my guinea pig got suddenly with this mystery illness we had this loud smoke alarm go off which was really bad . Then about a week later Poppy who was like above 3 lbs was losing weight rapidly, he wasn't chewing his greens at all its like he would try to by grabbing them but just couldn't chew them. He had clear eyes could walk normally and he ended up getting the runs. Then we took him to the vet when we got him back he had gas spasms ,cloudy eyes and his legs were dragging . He continued to lose even more weight then passed away 48 hrs after getting back from the vet . The vet was like what you think happen when I told them he passed on . I did do critical care feeding before the vet and even tried to hydrate him with water. I even tried to get him to eat his brother poo by diluting even had benebac for him, xtra vit c and it didn't do anything for him. So I'm wondering do you know what could have happened to Poppy ? As, he and his brother Boogies ate the same food, same greens , same hay, lived in the same cage which thankfully Boogies is fine which he is still fine. Because I keep on thinking is it possible that Poppy had a green that was affected by a bad bacteria that caused some jaw paralysis even tho it seemed like he could move his jaw but it was like the muscles were paralyzed in the jaw . Could that have been ecoli or botulism ? I don't know if guinea pigs can get botulism . But its a question as I wonder what happened or if it could had been something else ?
@@ScottysAnimals His lungs were clear , no coughing noise , no wheezing , no eye discharge , his heart was fine too, no runny nose , no crusty eyes. I did think he was a special need piggy with blindness . So I just wonder what happened as this was such a quick illness to happen and I kept wondering if it could had been a stroke .
Love ur vids
thank you Ivy Taylor

Hana depends on the bedding too. Boars on flannel stay cleaner than ones on carefresh or pine.
