Fun fact idk if you've discovered it yet, but in the build menu, under Containers, there is a Silo that holds Solid Fertilizer, and also allows you to buy solid fertilizer to fill it. Its cheaper to buy this way than it is through the store, it only cost 1700 or so per 1000L vs the 1920 via the store. So saving a bit of money and getting an easy place to store it too
I found that the grass roller keeps any grass fields I planted (not sure about base game fields that already had grass on them) from regrowing. Not sure if it's a bug in the roller, since the roller is supposed to reset the grass field to the initial growing stage no matter what stage it is currently on. But I currently (V.1.2.1) never get a "growing" status on any fields I grass roll , although I do get the second stage of fertilization. If I use a mulcher, I can "reset" the grass field to "harvested" state, and then don't roll it, I will get a growing stage the following month. I've seen other folks having this problem on the Steam Community forum, so it's not just me. (PC version, BTW). In your video, after you rolled, you demonstrated getting the second fertilization stage, but your legend at the bottom right is also missing a "growing" status after you rolled. I'll bet that if you turned off the fertilization color on the map, you wouldn't have seen any green to indicate the field was growing after you rolled it.
I’ve been using a liquid fertiliser and seen I could save some money with the grass roller so I bought and used it on 12/20 of my grass fields I was about to get off till I seen this lol i really didn’t want to re plant them💀
FC, great video as always however, I think something has changed in regard to the "2nd growth stage". I am using field 35 for my testing, I did not do any field prep, I just mowed it and then baled it. If I mowed it when it was first ready for harvest, I got 40k according to time saving stock check. I then reloaded my saved game and waited till the third month and my yield was the same 40k. This is as of update 1.4 so not sure when they may have changed it. Also, I found that if you harvest and then roll your grass in November, you can not harvest again till May. However, if you harvest in November and then replant it, it will let you harvest in March instead of having to wait till May. You can get an extra harvest out of the year.
bro, I have been waiting for the grass tutorial for so long. There are so many equipments and I always wonder which set of combination needs the least work. after mowing you can bale-wrap, but you can't use silage additives, or you can have wagon (with additives) to pickup and dump in the bunker silo to ferment, but that require more leveling and compacting work
Grass is real fun. Stick to baling and let it ferment into silage and sell for good profit. Don't try the bunker silo method, it's way more tedious and no real benefit imo.
@oddiethefox5832 there is a benefit, you don't have to pickup bales twice. Also it's easy to pickup with a forage wagon and then you can dump in silo(pack/ferment) after that use conveyors to pick up and 18 wheelers to deliver. Tedious but imo better than bales unless you use a modded auto pickup flatbed
@@johnivie3010 I mean I've tried the bunker silo method and my forage wagon often got stuck when I tried driving over it to load it. Made it very annoying. I also have a steer loader with a bale attachment. I can grab two large bales at a time with it and I am able to stack 4 large bales in 2x5 rows on my small trailer then strap them in. I do reset the trailer after unstrapping to make selling easier which is an exploit technically. I only see baling becoming not as good when either the game or modders add a silage silo where you can store/ferment silage and just load it into a trailer like it's a grain silo. Alternatively the silage can be loaded into a storage wagon or trailer with a silage fork but that's still more tedious than baling imo. Plus bales are more aesthetic to farming to me lmao
Waiting for the 2nd harvest stage let you only gain a few liters per ha, cutting the grass as soon as it is ready to harvest you can mow it 4 times per year
Can’t comment on FS 25 but this is definitely not true in FS 22. In FS 22 the second harvest increases the harvest by 50%. You should still harvest 4 times a year: March, June, September and November.
Grass, Rice and Long grain rice do not only use one state of fertilizer: harvesting them give you a state of fertilizer. I tested it, on a field with 0 fertilizer, after the harvest, I got one, it mean see to be the same thing but no, on the first seeding you should fertilize 2 time, then, if you don't change your crops, you only need one. Also, tested on the 24 Nov, no improvement yield from a 2 months to a 3 months, maybe it's a bug because the different was significant in FS22 And in the comment I saw few people have issue with rolling and regrow. It work fine for me, maybe platform specific? Also check the season and FS22 is different then FS25, it will not put your grass in a regrow state right away, but still work the same for me on PC.
Im playing fs22 and just watched your video about grass for it. I have about 20 hours on fs. And i thinked "Lets get an eye on how is to do it on fs25". Did not watched yet, but this game is fs22 with new menu layout and in-game visuals. Is it? Im thinking about to buy it. Its kind expensive. Worth it? Sorry for the off-topic. Ps.: your tutorials and presentations of mods and maps. All the mod stuff. Is amazing. No bs talking. No long videos. Right to the point. Love that.
I just planted grass seed, my field condition says needs rolling, I got the grassland roller (same one shown in video) and it wont do anything with AI or when I try to roll it manually. Is this because this is my first planting and I havent harvested? I am curious to know why it wont let AI roll or and/or why it still shows needing to be rolled. Thank you.
Need rolling and grass rolling are different. The soil roller is after the seeding, in game, it will remove the small stones and increase your yield by 2-3% but it need to be done right after seeding. The grassland roller is to be use after the harvest and give you a free fertilized state.
I love using a pickup wagon and then using the stationary baler with two auto load trailers. It's so much easier. I just back the trailer up to the baler and leave the tractors on and it does everything for you. Park the auto load trailer next to where the bales come out and it loads then on the trailer automatically. I can do other things while that does it's thing.
So I screwed up my first harvest and ended up selling small bails of grass. I Bought the wrong bailer which made it impossible to auto load but you can lift the 120cm square bails by hand or using a front loader attachment. Then I realized they can't be used for silage (without a forage wagon to break then up and bunker) because that size can't be wrapped. My new plan is to buy a round bailer in a size that can be autoloaded/wrapped for silage, leaving some unwrapped for hay. Basically check the sizes of the bailers and the equipment it goes into next. Also make sure your tractor has enough HP to run the equipment. You need a large tractor for some of the large square bailers. Don't forget the special grass tools like the tedder, windrower and grass roller. This game really makes you feel it when you screw up and don't research things 😭
those small bales can be collected with the Arcusin Multipack D14, which bundles 14 small bales to a pack. however, I don't think this pack can be wrapped, but it solves part of the problem
@davidc2328 nice I must have missed that. Next time I make small bales I'll have to look into it. I held onto the mini baler to make some 120s for the horses I bought. I appreciate the tip. There's so many ins and outs to this game but it's what makes it so damn interesting to play. Hopefully grass season 2 will go better 🤷🏻
You didn’t mention that there is some type of bug or something going on with the rolling of the grass. It won’t grow after you use the grass roller. FYI I had to replow and start over
Tested multiple time, mine regrow, unless you play with season on and you harvest it in November, then you will not see it regrow before Apr while seeding in November will be rdy to harvest in march & apr. If it not related to seasonal grow, I don't know what to see, because work fine for me.

I have been trying to Lime a partially grown grass field and it will not apply the line state to it also what is the yield bonus for waiting for the second ready to harvest stage
Lime need to apply before seeding or in the seeding month, it's doesn't work after, so harvest your grass then lime. For the 2 months grow VS 3, I tested it and I got nothing in FS25, in FS22,it was around 50%!! I don't ii it is a bug or not but for now, it bring no bonus.
grass will grow automatically if it is during growth time (green) in your seasonal growth calendar. Make sure you add back your 2nd fertalizer state before the grass gets to its ready to harvest state.
Grass appears to be different from FS22. After mowing, baling, etc., if you do nothing and advance to the next month, the grass will automatically start to regrow. If you use a weeder or grass roller on the field after baling then it will increase its fertilization state by 50% but won't show as growing until you advance to the next month. I also tried using a mulcher but at least for me, it didn't increase the fertilization state.
New subscriber, really like your videos. I'm trying to start a silage money stream with grass but the field (#6) never shows any growth state. And the only soil state it ever shows is fertilized. Never regrew after mowing even though i rolled it. Even when I turn all the colors off, the field color on the map is slightly different than all other fields. Any ideas?
do you know why my mowers aren't depositing the grass on the field? it keeps holding onto it until it reaches the edge of the field and then it drops it all in huge piles.
I believe that indicator us for everything besides grass. I don't think you can actually roll grass with a field roller and have it grow again. The highest yield bonus you can get with grass is either 95% 97%. I don't think there is a way to get 100% except for your first harvest after planting
So since grass only requires 1 fertilizer application, does the yield bonus mean anything when it comes to mowing? I have not tested this myself yet, if someone could shed some light.
Fertilization should be 100% when allowing it to grow. Simple answer when it is harvested it only takes away 1 fertilizer state. Meaning every time you harvest you only need to add 1 back rather than 2. Starting with a field that is 0% fertilized; 1. Fertalise cultivated field 2. Plant grass 3. Fertalize again 4. Roll This should give you 100% fertilization and given no field stone or lime requirements, you should have a 97% yield bonus. If you talking about a field just harvested check if it is attached stage 1 of fertilization or no fertilization. If it has no fertilizer on it you will need to fertalize 2x. If it has stage 1 fertilization you only need 1 addition of fertilizer.

FC could you do a test on the difference between mowing as soon as it shows it's ready to harvest vs waiting an extra day? I know it was well worth it in 22 so I'm wondering if it still is in 25.
It makes a lot of sense to only use one “windrover” on the mower then a smaller rake let’s say a 12m rake can rake 15 meters 😉 it’s used in real life when you run tram lines in the grass let’s say 24meter no rake is that wide..
workers can't mow grass? I have tried several mowers and none will mow the grass...keep getting field not ready for this work...but it is ready to harvest and I can manually harvest it.
Right! I thought I was the only one who noticed! It sucks and feels like going over rocks. Was it like that in fs22? Why did they overlook it? I hope they know about it and fix it.
@ so you’ve never felt a bump out in the field on a tractor? I guess my family whose been farming since 1950 and has donated over 2 million dollars to YMCA don’t know how to drive tractors I better go to tell them 😆🤣💀
At the moment no. If grass is just left in the field it will stay as if you just mowed it. I'm sure there will be a mod in the future that allows that but it will most likely be PC only.
I would like to see how you can go from 87% yield bonus to 97% or even better to 100%. In your field you have 85. I have two fields at 87 and two at 97 and I treat them the same. I dont know why it differ?
Is anyone else having trouble getting the ai assistant to mow grass, I’ve tried with both the butterfly and front mowers as well as the self propelled krone mower , this is on pc and also with a standard field that has been manually extended
If you roll your grass fields immediately after harvesting your grass WILL NOT grow. You’ll have to cultivate/seed/roll and start all over. You need to wait one growth cycle before using the grass roller.
All mowers do wide spread but some have the option to windrow. As for your front attachment issue 1st check your input settings to see how to select your control group. Make sure you switch on your help window and on the top left there will be a little tractor. If you have something attached, there will be a box in front of or behind the tractor depending on where it is attached. Make sure the front attachment is highlighted when trying to turn on / lower the implement.

Simple answer when it is harvested it only takes away 1 fertilizer state. Meaning every time you harvest you only need to add 1 back rather than 2.
Starting with a field that is 0% fertilized;
1. Fertalise cultivated field
2. Plant grass
3. Fertalize again
4. Roll
This should give you 100% fertilization and given no field stone or lime requirements, you should have a 97% yield bonus.
If you talking about a field just harvested check if it is attached stage 1 of fertilization or no fertilization.
If it has no fertilizer on it you will need to fertalize 2x.
If it has stage 1 fertilization you only need 1 addition of fertilizer.

Needs to be grassroller. He shows it in the vid, costs 17k
Just saw another TH-camr test the second day of grass and it made no difference on the yield of bales. Might be good for an additional test
THIS, literally having this issue rn, it says ready to harvest but the AI won't do it at all idk why, and im using a stick field as well
@@eddierock7179 i found that if you roll your field AI bug sometimes with mowers..
@@carlosprieto2554 thats annoying, is it only with grass rollers or any rolling? Becuase i did the normal rolling not grass roller
what if not doing hay?
Anyone having issues with river bend map? It has stopped on me several times. I’ve reported it every time.
why does my grass field always say needs rolling? Use a grass roller and nothing changes
If you roll your grass fields immediately after harvesting your grass WILL NOT grow. You’ll have to cultivate/seed/roll and start all over. You need to wait one growth cycle before using the grass roller.
the pickup headers are confusing to me they don't seem to work like I think they should
Hay farmer cop can you please make a video of ferry
It crashes on ps5 ever few minutes when working with grass, the game is a mess.
Same, its ridicolous
My ps5 continually crashes making grass bails. So i have given up bothering
Can’t even use the front and rear mowers on console. No option to drop the front one or turn it on. Am I the only one with these issues?
All mowers wide spread. No options for anything else. Dang.
All mowers do wide spread but some have the option to windrow.
As for your front attachment issue
1st check your input settings to see how to select your control group. Make sure you switch on your help window and on the top left there will be a little tractor. If you have something attached, there will be a box in front of or behind the tractor depending on where it is attached. Make sure the front attachment is highlighted when trying to turn on / lower the implement.
why is my planted grass not regrowing
Did you roll it?
It’s winter? Nothing grows in winter. Wait until march. Harvest, mulch roll fertilize
growth is paused in winter
10:12 extra day? You skipped a month.
Day/Month are the same with standard settings in farm sim.
w
I've done all the steps and my grass isn't growing at all. And I've went past almost a year.
Is your growth paused in the menu? Did you plant the grass or is it map grass? (Map grass and field grass are very different)
Grass will not grow after you harvest and roll
Bit hard to take in all the information when you talk so fast, great otherwise
its not workink when you need macke hay still grass😑
You have to use a tedder on it to make it into hay
Why is the grass so hard? It's not supposed to be like going over dirt or rocks.😂 They really need to fix the grass hardness. It sucks.
