I was looking for a lightweight blower for my deck. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxgioZQl3J5wPGAeDINzbieKbT5qomSEx3 There are some huge trees around my house and the leaves and pods drop all over my deck. Having to move furniture around to sweep has become too big a chore. This blower was the answer. It is light enough for this 70yr old lady and powerful enough to blow all the tree droppings off my rather large deck. Thank you B&D. Be aware the cord is not included. I use a 3 prong outdoor cord 25' cord for my 12' x 20' deck. The cord retainer works very well, but don't try to pass the plug through it. That is NOT how it works. I have this same model and it has been very good to us for several years. This year it decided not to start when it was hot. It would start right up the first time but then when it ran out of gas, I would fill the tank back up and try to start it and it wouldn't start. I would have to wait for it to be completely cooled off to start it again. I've also read it could be the ignition coil. Any thoughts???? Thank you. I have enjoyed your videos.
Hey Mommy, ( shout out to Connor and Logan) it would be hard to say why your machine has decided to start acting up now after several years of smooth operation for you. Not all problems associated with small engines are big ones. ALWAYS start with the basics. Clean air filter, spark plug is not all fouled up, gas is fresh and high octane, using a good full synthetic oil to mix with your gas. Your issue does not sound like an ignition coil to me. It would be metering diaphragm related or one of the other issues I mentioned in the beginning. Fuel, plug, or air filter. I hope this helps and give you guys a starting point to solving your problem. Thanks for stopping by my channel. Stay safe everyone 😷👍
Need your advice Dave. I have the exact same machine and it won’t start. The coil has been recently replaced and I get a great spark from the spark plug, I took the carburetter apart it looks brand new with a supple diaphragm. the primer ball and fuel lines are all good and are connected properly. With the plug removed I pulled the starter cord and there is a small fine mist that comes out of the cylinder so it looks normal and ready for ignition. I adjusted the idle and high speed carb as you did in the video but still no start. I’m at my wits end!!!!
Hi Dave, just to be sure, I dumped the old fuel (which was clean) and added half a tank of the ethanol free gas in a can with a 50:1 ratio. Still no cough
@@peterfrancolini5906 any way you can check the compression? If that's good then I would check the key in the flywheel. Just because it sparks does not necessarily means it sparks at the right time.

@ 9:18 . I apologise for the sound quality. The low speed jet is closest to the engine block. That's theidle mixture control. High speed jet is farthest away the engine block. That adjustment is made when the throttle is fully opened and looking for near maximum speed. I usually back off the jet a little so it doesn't run too lean. Thanks for commenting and I hope it helps you.
Thank you! This will be my Christmas break project, has been driving me crazy. Do you have any links to buy the fuel lines you used and do you have a link to the metering diaphragm? Lastly, you mentioned a special wrench to adjust the carb that the guy didn’t have, do you have a link to that?
I have a question, I have the same model and I have noticed that mine is having more and more each use a hard time starting. What I have found is that the primer plastic bubble most of the time is completely empty and when I push it in to prime it doesn't have suction, it takes for ever to come back to its normal position. Can u help with some pointers
ulitepilot aka Zombie Dave thanks for you reply, the leaf blower is maybe 3 yrs old and as OEM out of the box today. I have not started any work on it so the gas lines are the same way it came when it was new. What my finds have been the gas bubble is not punctured in any way, it's as if the gas line was clogged. I pulled both gas lines out of the fuel tank today one still has the filter attached but the other is half the size and seems as if has broken. I emptied the gas tank to see if there was any loose items inside and there is not.
im having an issue with mine. thought it was the carb. replaced it with a new one. still same issue. it will start i let it run and then turn the throttle to full run it shuts down. what do i need to do
Sounds like you still have to adjust the new carb. That is to say all your lines and primer bulb are good, Start with high idle screw closest to outside and then slow, closest to engine at idle speed. The throttle screw as well might need slight adj as well. good luck
@@Red-Eagle did you have spark on the blower before replacing the ignition coil? I’m wondering if the coil is bad even though I have a strong spark at the plug....

Figure out where the clog is. Remove the fuel filter and replace. See if that does it. If that doesn't do it, remove carb and clean screen in the carb, make sure metering diaphragm is not hard and stuck in the up position. Chances are it will be a combination of the first 2.
