A friend of mine gave me a backpack blower that starts and runs, but will not rev up to full speed. Lets take a look at some options of what could be wrong and see if we can fix this leaf blower.
Thank you Alex! My husband was away for work and we were having a party. Really needed this blower to work. Followed your instructions. It was a carburetor adjustment. Works like a champ now! Thank you thank you! And to all the wives out there who wait for their husbands….. why??????
Thanks for taking the time to walk us through this. Half a turn counterclockwise did the trick. I'll let it cool and see if the setting took. Appreciate the tutorial.
Thank you very much for the support and I hope you got it fixed 😎
Excellent video, you have a good calm way about you which is excellent for explaining issues.. not bad on the camera work. thumbs up 🍕👍
Thanks for your video helped me out and comments and detail was good. Might have been interesting to show other carburator problems by mis-adjusting both high and low. Or best practices for dialing in carb settings from scratch. 😎
Thanks, easy to follow, it was what I needed to do to get my blower running correctly.
Good video. Will try this out today. This is how my blower is "acting".
Thanks so much for this video I'll have to try this for myself
Thank you Great work I learned alot today God Bless.
THANKS! Perfect fix for mine!
Great fix on the blower, it is good when it is sometimes an easy fix
Thank you. Sometimes the easy stuff gets overlooked. I’m just hoping to help some folks if they have the same issue. Thank you as always for stopping by.
Hi Alex thankfully an easy adjustment
Don’t forget to check the starter assembly 🇦🇺
For sure. That recoil needs some love as well.
Good day eh!! You lucked out here eh!! A pretty quick fix and hopefully that is all this blower needs. Sometimes it's little things and quick fixes!! Take care!!
Thank you. So far just the carb adjustment as well as freeing up the pull start. Should be a pretty good unit. Thank you for stopping by, and hope things are good your way
Easy fix on that one Alex. Sounds very good now and after you sort out the recoil issue, that should sell easy or make you a good machine.👍🇺🇸😎Roger
Thank you Roger. I’m debating keeping this one for my lawn care business, but either way I’m very thankful it was such an easy fix. That recoil certainly needs some lube and I think it will be good to go.
@@freedommowers420 They sell the pull starter w/ a new housing. It's pretty common. There's a reason they do it. Don't waste your time like I did for my customer. I broke again before it left the shop and I had to disassemble it. Keeping one in stock now. Good video, best of luck
Nice job Alex, she's running good now. 👍🏼
Your running good now 😂🤣. Thank you John. Hope things are good your way brother.
LoL, yes sir, alls well…. today. 🤣
@@Big_Johns oh yes. I’m right there with you. Day by day is how we take it.
Good job Alex. Good tips as well that ryobi is one nice machine there 🔧🤘
Thank you John. Thankfully this one was an easy fix. Hope all is well your way!
@@freedommowers420 it is . Been busy here lately . But love this time of year
Good videa. Exactly my problem with my BP42 and will try to follow your instructions. Results to follow. I just hope i adjust the H screw not the L screw. Maybe it would have been helpful if a closeup shot of H screw was shown.
Thanks you for video and yes that will help me out and it runs and dies
Hopefully yours is just a simple adjustment as well. Sometimes those diaphragms get hard though and that will cause issues as well.
Great easy fix
Thank you. I will certainly take the easy ones when I can!
great work, nice an easy.
Thank you. I’m glad it was an easy one on the fuel delivery. Just need to fix the recoil and should be good to go.
This is exactly what mine sounds like. What are the tools called you bought on Amazon to fix it?
Was this the screw closest to the machine ?
Also, I can’t seem to get the single D to fit my screws. Thanks
The newer models have plugged carb adjustment holes and you have to remove them
Interesting 💙
Thank you 😎
How to install the spring in the start pully
Problem is the newer blowers no longer have adjustment screws for the high and low speed. Absolutely ridiculous. I even put a new carb on mine and it still bogs. Only have 8 hours on it to and use only 50:1 vp premixed fuel. No more Ryobi for me. I'm buying a Echo...
that was quick, easy and virtually painless.. lol
These are the kind of fixes I enjoy. Easy and hopefully helps someone get their blower running good. Hope all is well your way.
Wanna make the engine sing? drill holes in that intake plate
I received a free Husqvarna leaf blower but it doesn't run full speed until its right about to run out of gas. Any tips? Thanks
It sounds like maybe the diaphragm is stuck letting too much fuel get through. Maybe it’s just running too rich and when it’s out of gas it leans out enough to run properly.
Take the pawn shop price tag off' it's not getting enough air. Lol
On that carburetor, the hi and lo adjustments are not "usually" as you described them - they are "always" hi nearest the air filter, lo nearest the engine. Just sayin'.
i appreciate your specifics, wanted to vault that knowledge but didn't want to unless it was universally true.
Freedom mowers Can I have the blower?? I am in need of one really bad and I am poor
I run a lawn care service and have been in need of a backpack blower. I worked out a trade with a friend of mine for this unit. He gave it to me for exchange on fixing some of his other equipment.
@@freedommowers420 would you be able to hook me up with a free leaf blower??
@@snoopysrc I hear leaf rakes are fairly cheap
@@milekh6681 if you got the money for a gas tow behind one then Yes
I like free stuff too
Thanks so much. You rock. My ryobi blower runs great till half tank. Then starts to bog down. Any tips? Thanks a million 🎅🎅
Fuel line bad
Oem lines are cheap crap and crack even when new
Ok thanks a million. I'll check em
Spark arresteor speak .plug and air fliter plus fuel filter are the one's that I would check on hopefully you are a great yard mowing season be safe. Out there young man😎
Yes all good things to check with these symptoms. Thankfully it was an easy fix. Yes things have been good on the lawn care. Busy busy. I hope the same your way 🤘😎
@@freedommowers420 I'm some what busy having to replace more parts on the ft mower pan
Did the adjustment ( half turn ) and still bogging down and dying. Replaced fuel filter and spark plug. Any other ideas to troubleshoot? … how many turns can you do on the screw without burning out the carborator?
