Fantom Racing is also a top brand that had Trinity looking over their shoulders with multiple National titles and just recently the 10th scale Off Road World Championship in 2wd buggy with Tater Sontag. Great video always informative and helpful.
Great little video. Sky RC definitely deserve a mention less on the ESC and Motor front but they do so many other electronic products with chargers being what they are most known for.
Do you think 20 years ago the original Tekin was on its knees and Novak was king of the new world of brushless now able to beat up on LRP. Now who is left. Visited HQ in idaho many moons ago just before boost and their first 1/8 sys release. I was treated like a pro. Good people folks should get behind. -U10
I love listening to this knowledge from you, very interesting, and the use of your stock footage is really pleasant, too! Yeah, I guess us fools who got addicted to this silly hobby, we'll just keep buying stuff, so no wonder that there are so many brands, ready to take out money. Myself, I'm maybe a bit "boring", I just buy Hobbywing for almost everything, it's easier than to need to learn parameters and configuration and calibration and stuff on all the brands... I had never heard of Exalt, very interesting to know...
No mention of Futaba, Novak, or LRP? We only had mechanical speed controls back then and my first ever Electronic Speed Control was the orange Novak in the mid to late 1980s. We assembled from kits and soldered electronics because there were no such things like RTR. I’m glad there is still RCs and RC racing. I’m 52 yrs old and still playing. lol.
For racing having a racer rating like in sim racing would be best. Rating is based on points earned from prevous races. Match groups based on points as best as possble and attendance numbers.
I have a Tekin T120 servo and stripped one gear so far (it has metal gears) I spent $40 to replace that gear and it is working just fine now. I've been a Trinity supporter for a very long time and I'm curious about other brands.
I'm considering a Fantom motor ESC combo for my first 8th scale bc I've heard the customer service is great- Same goes for Tekin. I liked the companion app that lets you change things instatly from your phone but since I'll be mostly learning, I don't know how much of that I'd actually use. If my car is on it's roof, tuning the esc won't really make a difference 😂
When you said the big boogeyman, I thought for sure you were going to say Traxxas. Being they patent troll other brands, like Arrma. When I heard Horizon Hobby, it made me wonder why. Sounds like you have another video about why you would make that claim? I'll have to find it.
@@RoachRC I am not buying something off the list in your description but I am buying parts from Amain. So to be clear, if I follow a link and then add things to my cart everything's good for you?
Tekin and Novak were the 10th scale best options back in the day. Today I still use the R8 in my 10th scale for an ESC
crawler/basher here just for the entertainment and quality content on another part of the hobby. keep it up Roach!

All kinds of brands to choose from, unless your are shopping for a transponder :)
Novak R.I.P
Reds also have a pretty sweet new esc and motor.
I saw a guy rurunning a reds 17.5 recently that was flying, his car was so fast I thought it was a 10.5
Surpass rocket v6 super fast stock 17.5 motor and only 80$

Ryan Harris uses r1 because they sponsored him, end of story

You have to remember there is very often no world outside of the USA !
Interesting 👍
08:05: not the point of the video but that lap epitomizes my weekend at MoD 😅

One of my Hobby Wing G2s has power button issues, I called them on it and they sent me another one only after a loooooooong ass process.

Horizon has a habit of buying up profitable racing brands and not supporting them to make them profitable. Proline for example.
I have a few items in my Amain cart and can't find the code to give you a piece.
No code. Just click the link and buy from there

Correct :)
Reedy is killer but it’s too expensive
No 1up?
I'll get to them eventually
What electronics does 1 up make
@@allenholiday1065 they have fans , but not really an electronics maker, they do more parts and tools
