My first job was at Maccas as well. It was a tough experience for me. I only lasted 4 months. At least when I quit, one of the managers did say I was a good worker. Now I realise that is wonderful feedback because today’s managers can criticise easily but find it hard to compliment.
I been working at McDonald's for 1 month and the General Manager says I'm a great worker. Along with almost every other regular manager. @@FyzeeNauman
I'm currently a crew trainer at my store and luckily have a very good management team, however our store is always extremely busy and has terrible crew who stand around or arw oblivious to procedures which makes work for me and fellow co-workers so much more annoying and difficult, despite this i love the envirionment and am going into management next year. Your experience sounded very up and down and was really interested in learning what other stores are like.
I was working at McDonald's either and miss the times with some of my colleagues. I'm still in touch with them even more in a friendship and with one of them, I'm going to fly on holiday with him.
This seems all too common. I had a part time job at a bowling centre and petrol station during my uni days and same deal -- the managers enjoyed making life miserable for everyone and would go out of their way to be mean to staff because they could. It was like a power trip kind of thing. Thankfully I've found leaders in my professional career have been a lot better.
I've had the same experience, leaders in the corporate space generally tend to be a lot better. People usually just get exploited in those entry level jobs that you do while at uni 🥲
Im 18 months into this job now and now a Trainer, quitting once I get my 2 years of work experience, Sunday at 2am is the worse time to work since we're in the heart of a busy city and have loads of drunk customers coming in from a bunch of closing pubs, 3am often leaves a lot of dejected faces on the crew, its haunting when its happening but funny in hindsight XD
I just had my first day after getting laid off from my electrician job. I legitimately want to cry. I have never felt so pathetic weaing that uniform. When you played those frier noises, i legit had a reaction to them. I fucking hate this. The smell of all the oil made me sick. My feet hurt worse than they ever had working 12 hour days walking, climbing, and running around the job site. The worst part: i have to do this bullshit all over again tomorrow.
Hey mate, so sorry to hear about this. I know it must feel horrible right now but just know that it's only temporary! You won't be doing this forever. In the future, you'll look back on this period of your life and be glad that you stayed resilient & strong. I hope you're able to find another job quickly!
@@gaylekohut1341 go out there and get one, bum. You haven't tried. I did the McDonald's, found another job and went from 12 to 16 an hour. Anyone complaining about the job market ain't gettin their ass. Hop on indeed, go look at a temp agency.
Just started my job at mcdonald's did 2 shifts doing frys, after working thare I definitely have a new found respect for mcdonald's workers, definitely not as easy as people think.
At 9:26, you didn't even take the free food? Which brings a thoughtful question. How can anyone eat the same food they work in? Take homemade food for the breaks!😅
Nope.. I was very frustrated and also have dietary requirements etc. so decided to get out of there ASAP. After seeing how it was made, it turned me off it a lot!

A little compliment goes a long way! Managers need to realize this.
