Not many people realize how much work that part can be lol. I've been in love with ELO ever since I found Out of the Blue in my dad's record collection at 16, thanks for making this.

This is done so perfect...which I cheat and do a great backing track. I would give the whole track more reverb and vocally and in general....a more British flare. All and all....a great project well done me lads!

Great playing, production, and video editing! Loved the shot of you singing the chorus in the stairwell to get natural reverb and reflections. You may have sweetened it with a plugin or outboard unit but, regardless, it's a nice touch. A great scene for your editor Nick to have some fun moving you up and down the stairs, matching the notes you were singing. Ryan tapping on that "cold steel rail" made me smile. And one more thing I noticed. You guys didn't smash the heck out of the song with compression. The levels on my little Mackie mixer were actually bouncing up and down the way they do on the original version on vinyl. Actual dynamics in a rock/pop song. Very refreshing! Looking forward to more tunes and videos and I hope all of your hard work pays off in whatever way you would like it to. Most important, keep having fun!
This was so fun and brilliant! Love how you didn't go the obvious route and use a keyboard string patch to cover the orchestra. Doing the guitar harmonies gave it a really neat feel. Well done overdubbing all those vocals too! I'm so pleased you did the whole ending as well, and made sure to say "Please turn me over!" Great performance for sure!! Out of curiosity, why did you use the Nord at :53 instead of the Wurlitzer?
Thanks so much! Ryan and I thought for a while about how to do the orchestral parts. I had originally thought to just do them on a keyboard, but I have to give Ryan the credit for pushing us to do it all with guitars! I’m glad he did, as I love how it came out. So glad you like it too! We tried to nail all the fine details and do everything as accurately as we could. And I’d have to ask Ryan why he used the Nord instead of the Wurly. He recorded that while I wasn’t there. The Wurlitzer can be temperamental and finicky, so it might have just been easier lol. Thanks again!
