There is no test more unforgiving than production. At the end of the day this is a game. No one is going to die because it takes longer to load between areas or you can't connect for a day. Play offline or go play something else until they fix it. There are too many keyboard warriors around (ironic that I am posting this typing on a keyboard myself I know) that think a game that will be fixed and improved is some kind of critical life function. I work in software development for health care that has actually saved people's lives and improves their quality of life every hour of every day. A game is not a critical system no matter how much you want to cry about it. It will be fixed. These same people will pay $90+ to EA/Ubisoft for the latest AAAA garbage with day one bugs that are never fixed and keep feeding them $$$ with loot crates. SMH
i wonder if the problem is that with the game being 40 flat a lot more kids and people new to day one releases as if they are use to fortnight and other games and short term memory to other game launches like d4
I understand, people expected to have fun, to relax, to play the game they bought. Me included, its annoying. It would be ideal if people wouldnt be so emotional about a game release. In the grand scheme of things, if thats your problem right now, your a lucky person. Some people are ill, have no food, and so on. Its a game, you”ll play it and forget it in 12months. Have a nice day
I was more excited for LE release then D4 had since 2020. Am I upset? Nope didnt call off work because I knew this would happen. In a month we forget or just meme 61 to death.
I was waiting for 1.0 to be released and I haven’t touched the game before. I’m just a casual gamer and I don’t have much time for playing videogames. So when something like this that I’m really excited about gets released I’m preparing for it and I just want to spend like a week of intensive gaming. Just like a planned vacation. Then I just quit and do something else. So I understand that most of the other gamers can wait. I expected server issues. But I hoped that they will fix it in a few days and then the game will be playable. I want to play with my colleagues as soon as possible, because in a month, I will forget that something like Last Epoch even exists. So for me, that’s currently a negative review just because the game is unplayable on-line. And I will be more than happy to update my review to positive, if they fix the game. Look at the No Man’s Sky. They also had negative reviews everywhere. Small studio. And they fixed their reputation overtime. With Last Epoch, they can do the same. But everyone has a right to speech and say that It’s unplayable now. That’s my opinion.
Fair take. I guess part of it for me is that the GAME will get negative reviews etc, which just isn't the case directly. It's just hte nature of things. Thanks for your perspective and being level headed
@@Beltyra what is slightly inconvenient for you in your region can be unplayable in other regions. Don't forget that servers for each region differ and same as their population.
@1MTEDDY if you look at your latency bar youll see you may actually change to different regions at different times. Im usually us west but have seen the 2 other us servers there too. That said, the different regions dont matter when the bug is long zoning times on occasion. The long load times arent constant all day. And they arent every zone. Its infinitely better today, but the last two days, an issue popped up for people once every 30 minutes to hour. The zone would take a little longer to load, or youd get dc, load back in and it worked fine. In no way would this be defined as "unplayable".
The launch state of online software is in almost all cases monetary and avoidable. They chose to cheap out on their net working architecture team and/or their server hardware support at release. ALL SOFTWARE RELEASES MAKE THIS CHOICE. The vast majority of teams chose higher profit margins over a functional release state for their customers. They care MUCH more about the profit margin than the playability at release. They bet on the fact that most consumers are lazy and stupid. They know that some consumers will even defend them choosing to release in unfinished partially functioning states... Like you in this video I deserve a functional product at release. I pay the full MSRP so I expect a full product. Do not tell me to expect less. I respect myself and my money. Do not tell me devalue myself just because you do not respect your time, money, and self. Stop apologizing life some battered spouse. Stop apologizing for their greed.
Lawlzzzzzzzz. Your rant here knowns nothing of how pc games are made and released by small studios self publishing on Steam. The game has 190k players at one time. It had like 20k at peak early access. A small studio charging $35 for a game that was kickstarted and a lot of us paid 3 years ago, certainly doesnt have the capital or connections to just buy more server space and integrate shit overnight because you cant handle waiting 3 business days. Grow up.
while i appreciate the sentiment, its a bad argument. offline characters cannot be transferred to online play. if this were the case, you would be totally right. as it is, there is absolutely no point other than trying new classes to play offline unless you never intend to play online,. for those of us that do want to play online, its useless other than the aforementioned trying classes out. now, i understand WHY they dont allow the transfer due to cheaters etc. but that doesnt change the fact. people paid a price to play an online game, that the devs literally said they wre prepared for. they were not. are there reasonable people among us that can let that slide? sure. but the people that are upset are not wrong. this was a shit show launch. and the criticism is deserved.
I won't argue the entire comment but one thing I wanted to sort of put into perspective that I just thought about - even the websites like lastepochtools are crashing or have been down since launch. Third party websites. They cannot handle the immense traffic. Games these days are really blowing up
I do not think it is reasonable to expect the literal impossible from a dev. Like imagine someone suddenly getting paralyzed in the legs and telling them YOU DESERVE TO CRAWL IN THE DIRT FOR FALLING OVER LIKE THAT.
@@Sylvus66 This is people's money you're callously talking about. Some people may have had to save and budget to look forward to this game. They're rewarded by being unable to play or being forced to play whilst the game is broken. It's so easy to say 'play offline' when an arpg is inherently enjoyed with others. On top of this offline play doesn't transfer to online so you'll have to do the exact same thing again. Which is disrespecftul to people's time. People who think this isn't a big deal are the reason this industry does whatever it wants to the consumers.
@@AA-BB Great point. So whenever you purchase something, or go eat in a restaurant and they spit in it, you had better not complain. Why? shit happens, welcome to life.

I played about 200 hours of the beta, never had many issues besides the odd load time. Game is running flawlessly for me now online so they appear to have resolved it
Don't get me wrong I have a 17 ping and windows 10 pc with not many issues with the game. I do however run into areas of zones not loading and I have to log in and out 5 7 times before I can get to the next area. That stuff is bugs and not really server issues imo. A lot of this stuff though happened in beta too. When they held so many noncontent upgrades back from beta and it launches like it did, I just think it makes them look bad is all. It's a good game and enjoying it but at the same time It's okay to look up and see the asteroid is coming and provide some criticism too.
The gaming industry has really done some work on people to make them think its ok to pay full price for a product that doesnt work as advertised. What other industry has companies being defended for their product not working. Look im not saying anyone should harass or make threats against the devs but its certainly ok to be upset/angry that something you paid money for doesnt work.
If you want to get UPSET or ANGRY about a $30 game not working (and it does work, just not perfectly) then so be it. You need to look around more. People buy brand new $75,000 vehicles that break and have issues. $5000 PCs that brick in a week. Things don't always work out as planned. It's not a big deal for a $30 game. It isn't ideal, but it isn't a big deal.
An occasional long load screen or zoning time (its not consistent and its not every zone) is HARDLY "The game isnt working". The game has 130k to 190k people logged into it at any time. Thats so many more than an indy studio could possibly predict even with a 3 yr early access that had 15 to 25k players at time at the peak. You literally cant predict that.
It has nothing to do with the pricepoint of the game or this game in particular. I have 160 hours in last epoch and support the devs. I just think its weird to accept products launching that dont work and it is a consistent thing in the gaming industry. People white knighting devs and games CONSTANTLY release broken. If your 75k car has all kind of issues you dont have to go online and listen to a video of someone telling you why you shouldnt be annoyed. Again im not advocating for harassing the devs, they want this shit to work as much as we do. All im saying is that its weird that the gaming industry is the only one im aware of where people actively shame you for being upset that something you purchased doesnt work properly.
"remember when Diablo 4 shit the bed" How ironic... Diablo 4 was perfectly playable 2 hours after its launch. If D4 "shit the bed" what is LE doing right now ?
Diablo 4 had a solid launch and got worse as it went somehow. Servers were good at launch. Too bad the entire game wasn't worth playing, and things like trading (which had no real purpose) had to be shut down because of exploits. But I basically meant the game was completely bad, and still is
Diablo 4 launched with a bug that 100% made it unplayable. Youd get an error code on boot. The code was reported in the very first prerelease event and every event up to launch and after. Many many posts reporting you cant even log in. They never addressed it, and they took a month to fix it. People who preordered for all those early events got fkd and blizz never once acknowledged the problem. LE has an occasional long loading screen or disconnect and people are saying the game is unplayable. No lag, no rubberbanding. Just an occasional long loading screen or disconnect. And its improved every day since launch. But these "gamers" are all chicken little.
@@Beltyra the copium... Like LE-61 isn't real, stuck in connecting isn't real, "online play unavailable" isn't real. LE is a great game, the launch is absolute dogshit tho.
@thierryfaquet7405 yes, as I said all those are minor inconveniences that happen at random about once an hour or more. Ive been playing in a party for about 6hrs last night and another 6+ today. Problems rarely ever came up and it delayed my gaming for 1 to 3 minutes by either waiting for it to load or simply rebooting the client and things worked fine. Hardly broken. Hardly "dogshit". The sky is definitely not falling.
@Sylvus66 if you want to compete with D4 and POE then you're going to need to provide the product you sold your consumers. Trying the copium approach got us to the gaming industry we have now where we get nothing but half baked garbage. I'm not mad at the Lasp Epoch team, but I'm definitely not satisfied with being sold an online product that I'm being told to play offline due to their servers/ systems that I helped pay for.

Better yet make their offline character playable when the online is up.
That'd be cool. I wonder if people can somehow exploit that or something
Have a nice day
Have a nice day hope you enjoy the game! Love your way of saying this
I was more excited for LE release then D4 had since 2020. Am I upset? Nope didnt call off work because I knew this would happen. In a month we forget or just meme 61 to death.
Haha yeah you made the smart play! Meme61 will live on
I was waiting for 1.0 to be released and I haven’t touched the game before.
Its literally not unplayable. Its slightly inconvenient randomly but mostly fine.
People won't care. They just want to be mad.
That's true some people just love being outraged
The launch state of online software is in almost all cases monetary and avoidable. They chose to cheap out on their net working architecture team and/or their server hardware support at release. ALL SOFTWARE RELEASES MAKE THIS CHOICE. The vast majority of teams chose higher profit margins over a functional release state for their customers. They care MUCH more about the profit margin than the playability at release.
They bet on the fact that most consumers are lazy and stupid.
They know that some consumers will even defend them choosing to release in unfinished partially functioning states... Like you in this video
I deserve a functional product at release.
Couldn't disagree more
Solid argument! Care to shed some light on your opinion?
@@Sylvus66 This is people's money you're callously talking about. Some people may have had to save and budget to look forward to this game. They're rewarded by being unable to play or being forced to play whilst the game is broken. It's so easy to say 'play offline' when an arpg is inherently enjoyed with others. On top of this offline play doesn't transfer to online so you'll have to do the exact same thing again. Which is disrespecftul to people's time. People who think this isn't a big deal are the reason this industry does whatever it wants to the consumers.
@@dkeane6152Shit happens. Welcome to life.
@@AA-BB Great point. So whenever you purchase something, or go eat in a restaurant and they spit in it, you had better not complain. Why? shit happens, welcome to life.
@@dkeane6152Dumb comment. It's not like they intentionally made the servers unreliable.
I play wow instead xD
Problem solved :)
Or you know. Go play something else. I can't stop playing tekken 8
I actually feel overwhelmed by how many games are currently out that I want to play. There isn't enough hours in the day!
@@Sylvus66 I feel overwhelmed with just tekken alone. It's so good and so deep that I could play it for the next 10 years and still be satisfied
the servers were already shit in early access youd expect them to get better on release but they got worse. theres no excuse for any game to have server issues its just bad management
I have 300+ hours EA, and no they didnt have the zoning problems they have now. Dont be absurd man.
i have 240hrs and yes they did. they didnt have login issues but the long ass wait to go from one area to another has always been there and rubber banding @@Beltyra
The majority of complainers are new D4 fan boy defending there $100 buy and need to validate it by say see this game only cost X as its trash and does not work. I would not be shocked to find the Microsoft PR GOONES where behind over 1/2 the bad PR out about LE right now, D4 & Soft can see LE over taking D4 in time and they pissed!
True. Didn't think of that. It's such a better ARPG I bet they're really thinking twice about their own gameplan!
If you followed the beta, a lot of these problems have been in the game
I played about 200 hours of the beta, never had many issues besides the odd load time. Game is running flawlessly for me now online so they appear to have resolved it
They didnt have zoning problems in EA. They didnt have 100x more players like they do now.
"remember when Diablo 4 shit the bed"
How ironic...
Nah, being mad is fine. We paid $35 it should work. I get your wanting the social justice clout, but this multiple day server garbage isn't justified.
Okay get mad then. You're the real winner
@@Sylvus66 there's no winners here, just time and money spent.
Yup, humans managed to create stress and throw some hate around about trivial shit again. Sounds about right
@Sylvus66 if you want to compete with D4 and POE then you're going to need to provide the product you sold your consumers. Trying the copium approach got us to the gaming industry we have now where we get nothing but half baked garbage. I'm not mad at the Lasp Epoch team, but I'm definitely not satisfied with being sold an online product that I'm being told to play offline due to their servers/ systems that I helped pay for.
And right on queue here come the excuses, the Diablo cycle continues. Just another company simp channel with no spine. "we know LE is an excellent ARPG."... Ummm no "WE" don't.
Oh you can play the game though and join the WE. Then you'll see. Oh and my history shows I'm far from a simp, I just know quality when I see it and so far my track record is perfect. D4bad
Remember kids ; licking the boots of companies does not earn you any favors from them, you do not gain anything from it.
