Hi i first off want to say I'm so sorry you had to go through the flouroquinolone experience. It is indeed a nightmare . I've watched many videos , read so many blogs and i have not met a person yet that has had these facial symptoms you mentioned. I also have these symptoms and been seeking for so long to see if anyone else has them . Finally after 3yrs floxed I've found your video . I'm suffering a multitude of symptoms unfortunately. I've gotten much better as well since this has happened to me but still alot going on. I was floxed in September of 2020 . Given Ciprofloxacin for a sinus infection. I see you said you take some supplements that helps with the facial symptoms. I would love to know those supplements so i could give them a try . Thank you for making this video and i wish you the utmost best health and hope you are getting better and better

Hi thank you. The supplements I mentioned are mainly hormonal balancing supplements and iron prescribed me by my functional medicine doctor (ND). I highly recommend in my videos seeking out a good ND and getting your blood work done through them as their testing is different from traditional blood work and can really help you know what supplements you need. Something else that helped with the neuralgia is stem cell therapy in Mexico. But ultimately what's helped me long term has been implementing meditative practices and mindfulness. I know it may sound hokey, and I still need supplements and things, but by far the things I teach in this video have helped me heal more than anything. Good luck!

@@BenzoBrains Thank you so much . I'm currently seeing a ND just started . Actually today I will have my 2nd visit with her. It's my 2 week follow up . I would definitely say my worse symptoms hands down is the facial stuff . I can't count how many times in these 3yrs that I thought I was having a stroke or something due to the weird sensations . I had much worse symptoms in the beginning but have definitely come a long way since , but the facial stuff does not wanna shake for some reason . I will definitely check out the video link you sent . Thanks again for the reply . Not too many people follow up after putting out flouroquinolone based video topics . I guess I can understand why . They probably want to bury that experience as much as they can and not relive that trauma . So again I thank you a million for responding back .

I'm currently in physio rehab for two broken ankles. Being off benzos for almost two years I've become very active. While hiking I fell and have two severely broken ankles. I refused as many of the drugs as possible and the ones i did take they've had to explain it all. Anyway, here in rehab, there's this poor lady that they have CT off valium. I feel so bad for her. Everything here is the standard treatment, so they are not doing anything right by her. She's been alternately moaning, shaking, crying. And nobody thinks anything's wrong with that!!!!

Sometimes I think certain people tend to drag this whole process on. I’ll put my finger on it …it’s an egocentric need and people use these platforms to fill that need. They often use stories (and some are horrific) to perpetuate the notion that the side effects don’t go away. They do but this becomes“face time” and it’s true purpose is to satisfy the self.

I was given hydrocortisone and within an hour my body was electrified. Tinnitus and hyperacusis so bad I couldn’t even drive for a while. Body twitches and tremors, Burning brain and spinal cord, akathesia. Amongst many other things. It was so much worse than anything I experienced from benzos alone. It’s the worst mental physical and spiritual suffering i have ever been through. I feel like it ruined my life! It has been 9 months since the steroid and 17 months since benzos. Except of course the rescue doses which i know are a huge no no but things get so bad i almost feel like I’m losing my mind. I am not sure what to do to get through this. But you give me hope! I might be losing the battle. 63 pounds weight loss now. It's been 7 months. Lost 2 pounds suddenly two weeks ago. Insomnia is back with a vengeance. Bones are going out of joint (feels like).
Pain everywhere almost. Especially neck and back. Can't remember names, and other things. This is a type of hell.
Trying to explain to the boss what is happening is very difficult. Hopefully I don't lose the job. Had to leave early again, back went out too easily for some reason, along with a stabbing pain, almost like a Giant wasp stinger or a needle stuck in the shoulder area of my back.
Going to Dr soon but she doesn't believe benzodiazapine is a problem, or Cymbalta which I quit both simultaneously and WAY to fast, before I saw your videos

I was pretty much symptom free after the first month coming off Klonopin and was eating whatever I wanted, working out heavy, taking workout powders for energy and then all of a sudden got hit with a setback at 7 months. I’m now all of a sudden sensitive to food, feeling a little dizzy when I stand and can barely get out of bed to go to the bathroom. Even doing something as simple as talking triggers high stress and anxiety. Of course Family has been unable to believe this is still withdrawal but have been supportive. It’s weird because I had been experiencing heavy saints of stress through the 6 months I was symptom free but as soon as I had a panic attack I hit a brick wall. Is this normal? It’s been a few weeks now since this has happened and I’m still out of commission. I’m not having a lot of physical symptoms but the psychological ones are keeping me down.

      @fishermc6pack 3 ปีที่แล้ว

I’m not saying anything for certain, but what you’re describing sounds more like a return of the reasons you were put on klonopin and/or completely unrelated rather than withdrawals. It seems highly unlikely or impossible you went 1 to especially 7 months before you hit a “set back” induced by withdrawal if your symptom free for a long period after ceasing the medication.

    • @dnunn9475

@@fishermc6pack You’re probably right. I had never experienced anything like that before so I assumed it was withdrawals.

One of my worst side effects of withdrawal was my mind playing tricks on me regarding where I was and were I would be going while driving. I would know where I was but my mind would try to tell me that I did not know where I was going and anxiety would wash over me every time because I would be afraid that I was going to forget where I was at the moment. Its a very scary thing to be in a familiar place and feel lost at the same time. Well, after a couple of years this side effect has healed and I no longer suffer with it. Other side effects still remain but I'm hopeful for the future.

Yes too much sleep is a nightmare! Thanks for pointing that out.....I always wake up with a headache and foggy head if I sleep past my initial wake up. Something that has been helping me (won't help everyone) is healing the gut, and building the good gut bacteria back which is destroyed by antibiotics or is damaged in those who would be offered psych medications. I was working at a job and had to quit because I was having severe angry out bursts but I did not know about the gut connection at the time so I am hoping to heal my gut. The carnivore diet (sounds crazy) is a great tool to improve things in that regard. Probiotics at 50-100 parts per billion from the refrigerated section (not the ones that say does not require refrigeration) have also been helpful.

      Ricardo Diaz-
Hey Ricardo,Ty for your well wishes,LSS...
I was in a horrific car accident (18 years ago,of pure hell..)
      I was on Xanax,For I'd say 14 of those 18 years,started out
      .05 3x a day,wound up for most of those years 2mg bars 3-4 x a day,from PTSD,the car accident almost killed me,caught fire,jaws of life,ect..Was a bad accident.
Anyhow, finally I had to get off the Xanax cold turkey,my Dr Retired, and I wanted to get off em,but had no idea what I was in for..
I wound up Hospitalized, and going into a Psych ward all together for 3 weeks,I had Audible, visual, nasal, taste, hallucinations,IBS,.Seizures,
      neuropathy,Depression,mood swings,Suicidal,,Dislocation,
Brain and body zapz,Flu like symptoms,Insomnia,Rolling panic attacks, difficulty breathing, disorientation,
Dissacciociation,.. Everything you can imagine, mentally and physically, in the Ashton Manual,and,BWS.., back in 2/15.
It was pure hell,.I could have died,The worst was the insomnia and sesures..
I was finally given Klonapin while I was in there becouse it supposedly killed my Gabba receptors,( GDR,..)Got off them 4 mo.s after, but even after being off for 2 years,I still felt horrible,So my Dr got me back on the Klonapin for a year,,but yet again had to get off them cold turkey, last summer,,moved, and now they wont give em to you as easy,so,again cold turkey, but this time I'm off of them for 8 months, and think the Klonapin was worse to get off of,and each time felt worse/different, ..
Im doing it again,..And my New Dr says i may need to be on a benzo forever, but no chance!
Only thing helping me now big time, now,,im no dr. and this is my own personal opinions,But,CBD Oil,Tincture-Honey,(Meducinal Marijuana,Stopped the sesures, and helped sleep and depression, and the Phantom pain sympoms you get..)
      Potassium,Magnesium,Salads,
      (Good nutrition is key..)
      For sleep,Pure Cherry Tart,Pickles,Benadryl /Melitonin,.. Good breathing techniques,For Insomnia
      (You Tube Videos are great,hence..)
      If you have a hobby,Play music,draw,ect..Helps..
Only Best part of this I always remembered was,the weeks/months while getting off of them,,I was happy to be getting my brain back, and it felt good only then for a while..have my days..
I'm Not sure if you're on em or what your situation is with them, but unfortunately, time is the only factor here, and obviously everyone is different, but best of luck,
you could do it,Mind over matter..God bless 2

I was a long term user and was floxed to a few times,I reached tolerance years prior but didn't know it being I was sick off and on and doctors just brushed my problems off tossing in an occasional additional pill here and there,a few times they put me on another benzo other then my original by pulling me off cold turkey and putting me on the other without tapering the previous one,the other benzo did not even equal the same amount as the prior one that I was tolerant to and I would be plagued with more illness.I ended up going cold Turkey in the end after the floxing.I think cutting would of killed me as bad off as my health was at that point.3 years off still unwell plagued with muscle spasms in my head of all places.Suffer broken sleep as well. What a nightmare.I think the worse part is the part where the doctors ignore and deny the truth rendering people with false mental illness labels to cover their own butts in the event one tries to sue them. Them pills changed my character while I was on them and ruined my life this far,I seriously was not a hint of my old self prior while under the sedation they provided and I didn't know because I was under the influence. Hi I don't know of a specific source other than the Ashton Manual which may mention a couple. Mostly I've had to research it on my own. I know the ragweed family of herbs have some like Valerian and Chamomile. They're not always directly GABA agonists so it can be tricky and they may balance out in other ways so it may not be the same as taking a pharmaceutical GABA agonist such as ambien or gabapentin

Yes but working with a functional or integrative practitioner to help you navigate your recovery can be helpful. @AdamSolt59 Lunesta is also a benzo. Basically you're just switching out your Lunesta for a stronger version. I would recommend tapering off Lunesta and seeing a functional medicine doctor to see what's going on physically that may be contributing to your insomnia (it could be the Lunesta at this point). Also check out my kundalini video. It takes several months to work but it was super effective for me and has been shown in multiple studies to work better than meds

Hello, just wanted to thank you so much. I have been struggling with this for a long time, and being pathologized, over or mis-diagnosed, overmedicated (currently on 6 meds, and being weaned off of a benzo b/c the doctor like most are prescribing based on self-interest and self-protection based on what is considered a control substance or not. Have been on a rotation of different benzos for about 10 years now. Trying to take me off in a few month period really doesn't sit well with me.... I guess getting the most education I can on my own and having faith in the process is the best I can do. All I know is because I started seeking recovery b/c of various traumas and addiction to an illegal substance, I was more than functional. It sucks to know I am potentially at the mercy of doctors' guessing games.

Was like a nuclear bomb going off in my body. 5 yrs later and was feeling 75% recovered, was given amoxicillin for a root canal. It has set me back 5 years...I feel so defeated 30 days later I have little to no sleep, and all the neuropathy and massive anxiety back worse than ever, I'm devastated shaking and just terrified at what has happened again. I feel like all my autonomic nerves are now damaged severely again I can't breathe can't sleep can't eat tinnitus hot and cold sweating all the time my nutrient levels are all out of whack I don't know where to begin to start to heal again I don't feel like I can do it

Hi Jocelyn. Just another question. I saw that you had the facial Sensations. That's one of my worst symptoms. It's the head symptoms. I get the severe tightening, pain in my face, and tightening, and severe nerve pain in my neck that radiates up into my head. I also get the intense head pressure with zaps. Its as if my face is going to blow up. did this let up for you? I know you have the facial Sensations now but did the majority of the pain let up for you?

I didn’t realize the extent of your story, so very glad I watched your update. You’re a strong force in this community and we are very grateful!
My channel is very raw and different, and I do share the “waves” as people have continued asking me to. It seems to help others not feel so alone in what they’re dealing with. But it can be very scary which is why I still, almost 2 years in, watch very little.
Though so much has worsened as I taper, there are things that have stopped, such as hallucinations and the bizarre and HORRIFIC nightmares that would occur even if I wasn’t asleep!!! So those are 2 MAJOR signs of healing for sure!!!
Anyway, thanks for all you do and it’s so wonderful to listen to how well your healing!
I was also wondering if you have a list available of the supplements you take. Also, suggestions for trying to stay on a simple Ketogenic diet, as I now only have a microwave and an electric skillet! Not even a kitchen sink!! Ugh! How these drugs can affect your life in EVERY aspect is just beyond words!
Good luck with your book. That’s pretty awesome!!! 🤗🦋

Benzo Butterfly hi I listed the supplements I take under Kristie Walkers comment. I'm sorry you don't have much to work with right now in the way of a kitchen. 2 simple meals I eat almost every day are coleslaw and kale salad. I chop cabbage and mix it with mayo, 3 boiled eggs and 2 slices of cooked bacon and some celery salt. No stove needed. The kale I massage with the mayo then add canned chicken , parmesan or pine nuts, Apple cider vinegar, coconut aminos, olives and garlic powder and salt. Sauteé a tiny bit of onion in butter, stir in some cream cheese, canned salmon, smoked paprika, parsley, garlic powder and salt and eat it as a quick dip with some cucumber slices.

Benzo Brains Great! Thanks so much and for the food suggestions also. I do have a plant based protein shake crammed with spinach, kale, chia, flax and hemp seeds daily, organic eggs topped with unfortified nutritional yeast and organic sunflower seeds, with avocado for breakfast. Apple cider vinegar daily also, etc. So, not doing to bad I guess. Have you ever seen the documentary “The Magic Pill”? It’s on Netflix. Incredible history and stories based on a Ketogenic diet.
Thanks again for the response. See you on Twitter!!! 🦋

Hey. I'm doing keto while in withdrawal as well and I recently had some issues with sleep. I thought I just had a setback and it was part of withdrawal, but it turn out that wasn't true. I researched and experimented and I believe I was having the issues because of a lack of potassium and acidosis. I upped my intake of potassium and sometimes when I really can't sleep I drink water with 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda dissolved in it to alkalize my body. Hope you get everything figured out :)

Jocelyn, I'm doing a blood osmolality test soon,it tells you if you're dehydrated and how. It's not a regular blood test you have to require for it and it tells how your level of hydration is and something like if you're hydration is hyper-hypo-hysotonic so that you can drink the correct amount of electrolytes. I don't know but I hope it helps.
Btw does dosing valium twice in the night when waking up at 3/4.am. make sense or is it a very bad thing? (I didn't do it, just wondering if there would be a chance to help getting back to sleep and at the same time taper dosing it twice like that).

    • @BenzoBrains

Anna Eugae you can choose to taper in whatever way works best for you. The only thing is that you make sure it's consisted and that you're not updosing in any way with "rescue doses". But if dosing at night work for you, do what you gotta do.

    • @BenzoBrains
      @BenzoBrains  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Yes most hand sanitizer has alcohol and if you used a lot or are extremely sensitive, Absorbing it through the skin could have caused you to react to it kind of like a small dose of a Benzodiazepine. @BenzoBrains  6 ปีที่แล้ว

Hi Yes it's called tolerance withdrawal. You can read more about that in the Ashton Manual at www.benzo.org.uk/manual
You may want to consider developing a taper strategy either by using lower doses of Xanax throughout the day and weaning off that or crossing over to a longer acting benzodiazepine like valium and slowly tapering from that one instead. I have an entire video series dedicated to tapering and the Ashton Manual you can watch

Hi. A question: Q. A fellow “benzo-brain” told me Clonazepam is best for tapering. Diazepam is the only benzo I know. Is there any truth to this? Have you heard of this? Could switching to an equivalent dosage of of Clonazepam help with my taper?

    • @BenzoBrains
      @BenzoBrains  6 ปีที่แล้ว

Mr B hi Clonazepam can be a good option if you're on a shorter acting benzo like Xanax or Ativan. Everyone responds differently to different benzos and there's no one best benzo for tapering. However diazepam is mich longer acting than clonazepam and comes in smaller doses that are easier to taper so it's generally preferred. However some people do find diazepam causes a worsening of depression. If you do use clonazepam just know that you'd probably need to dose at least 2 or 3 times a day to avoid interdose withdrawals.

It can be if the taper is done incorrectly. The best way to avoid that is to watch all the videos on my tapering playlist . Then use that knowledge to develop a slow, safe taper from your medication. Xanax has such a short half life, those who are very sensitive may need to break up their dose so they can take it 6-8x a day or may need to switch to a longer acting benzo for their taper. It's not as hard as it sounds. Countless people have done this successfully. You got this

My best advice is to follow the Ashton manual as much as it applies and do a micro taper as illustrated in my videos. I'm not aware of the half life of quetapine or how you experience the effects of that but a little Google research should help you learn more. Also discuss with your pharmacist which micro taper he/she thinks will work best with your medication or if a solution or compound from powder might be an option. Get yourself as stable as possible before reducing, perhaps see a functional medicine Dr first and see if they can help with balancing you out.

Kristie Walker, just a heads up that lithium orotate can cause *horrible* stomach pains; when I asked my pharmacist and doctor about it, they told me most ppl stop taking it for that reason. Well wishes

Kristie Walker hi, I took Lithium Orotate for 3 months straight and seemed to drag me down I assume.
I did a slew of supplements even L-Theanine when I take it I swear I get anxious or I just react mentally ...
      even Vitamin D...
      😖

If you're asking which is worse to taper generally people say a benzo is harder to taper than an opiate. But everyone is different. Either way it's best to taper very slowly over a period of several month to a year or more depending on how much injury you've sustained

Your honesty is very helpful. Most everyone give half the picture, which is understandable. Balancing obligations and the curveballs life throws at you makes it super difficult to stay to a planned taper, which is demoralizing. I’ve reduced my diazepam dose by 25% in the past year. My plan was to be closer to a 50% reduction by now. But I have to work full-time. Q. I’ve read. of dissolving diazepam in whole milk to aid tapering. You used water if I recall. Do you have any insight into this?

Mr B good for you listening to your body and taking your time. Yes I don't think dissolving it in milk is a good idea..ive known a lot of people who have had bad reactions to this. If you look at my titration video, in the comments there is a comment that describes how to do it with a teeny bit of vodka. You can try this method or the water. I think both are better options than the milk

+Benzo Brains Cool! I’ve been trying the milk and I’m not a fan. Milk’s for babies.....a little in coffee sometimes. A teensy bit of vodka. That sounds better. Thanks.

Hi mam I just wondering how did you micro taper pls if you could tell me I’m having hard time coming off 10 mg Valium. I would like to try micro tapering but it would be so hard to cut the tablets? Thank you.
