The Kobyz, or Kylkobyz, is an ancient Turkic bowed string instrument popular among Kazakhs, Karakalpaks, Bashkirs, and Tatars. Its Kyrgyz variant is known as the Kyl-Kyyak. The Qobyz features two strings made of horsehair and a resonating cavity typically covered with goat leather.

Dimash Qudaibergen (di-MOSH Koo-dye-BEHR-gen) is a talented artist from Kazakhstan who began his formal training at the age of 5. He is professionally trained in opera, contemporary music, and musical theater. His diverse discography includes genres such as pop, R&B, EDM, rock, folk/traditional, neo-classical, opera, and even rap and hip-hop with a vocal range of 7+ octaves: C1-D8(which doesn't exist on a standard 88-key piano).
Qudaibergen has performed songs in 15 languages and is fluent in Russian and Kazakh while also possessing some proficiency in English and Chinese. A multi-instrumentalist, composer, songwriter, producer, director, and actor, he owns a production company called Dimashali Creative Center. He is 30 years old, 6'3", and a consummate performer. Is also a great humanitarian and philanthropist. He has a great love and respect for his millions of fans whom he has named DEARS.

So glad you found Dimash let the adventure begin. Just a heads up some places, especially Russia, they don’t stand. They find it disrespectful to block people behind you. They give flowers instead, which you will see, he gets a ton which he donates to hospitals etc. he sings in many genres even raps. People come from almost every country to see his concerts. He’s also the most humble kind man and loves his fans called the dears. There are so many songs to recommend

Congratulations, you just witnessed the greatest vocalist alive. He is a thirty year old multi-faceted artist with a soul of a thousand years, who hails from Kazakhstan. He sings in 16 different languages (speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently, some English, and a little Mandarin), plays 8 musical instruments and is currently working on his PhD in musicology (has a Masters in composition). He’s been training since the age of 5, has a 7 octave range, has absolute pitch, and is an amazingly humble and kind man. His mother is a classically trained singer and his father is a singer and producer. He sings almost every genre (even raps) He has many recent performances, but I would highly recommend starting with "SOS", 2021, "Sinful Passion" 2018, "Olimpico" 2019 link on Igor Krutoy's (composer that came out of retirement to work with Dimash) TH-cam channel, "Adagio" from The Singer 2017, "Ikanaide" 2021 Tokyo Jazz Festival, and "Ave Maria" 2021 at New Wave. After digesting those performances, I can't stress enough my recommendation for one of his most recent songs and music video (mini movie) the artistic masterpiece "The Story of One Sky" that he wrote the screenplay for and spent 3 years composing the music for, which displays a lot of his range (not all) and soooo many vocal techniques and dynamics, including sub harmonics, whistle register, bass, tenor, baritone, classical, jazz, pop, rock and unreal metal screams....and unbelievable dramatic acting. Each performance will leave you stunned. Thank you for reacting to our Dimash from a loyal "Dear" (fandom name given to us by Dimash, because we are dear to him like his family). The way I found to celebrate the majesty of Dimash's talent was to have written the following about him: If I were to rule the world, I would immediately add, to the universal declaration of human rights, another article (they would become 31) whose wording would next "All human beings have the right, at least once in their lives, to hear Dimash sing". I am a Professor and I believe that I have a special profession that allows me to transform the human heart and consequently the human society. I work with young people and young people need to have good references. I had been looking for someone for a long time, of whom I could speak to the young people I work with, as a good reference. That person should be young, a super talent, a super mega star in the art world and above all, because he is the most important, a good human person. I searched and never found anyone with these characteristics. Until, finally, I found this person and that person is Dimash. I had the opportunity to say this to Dimash, personally, when I was with him in Latvia where I went, coming from Portugal (there are 8000 km round trip), on the 7th of March 2020. The instrument you’re talking about is a Kazakh instrument called the Kobitz (he is from Kazakhstan)but has concerts all over the world. It is two strings. John Reaves won tickets to the Istanbul concert which was Dimash’s 30th birthday. Dimash sings all genres of music, in more than 13 languages. He has a 7 octave range but doesn’t like people to focus on his range.

Oh boy the rabbit hole. Dimash is not just the best singer in the world, he's the best in centuries. He has more range and control than the most famous Castrato, Farenelli. He's academically trained since 5 years old in both classical and contemporary music, currently completing his PhD in Musicology. He hit the highest note ever performed live (a D8) in another performance, in front of 150,000 people, on his knees, while he had a bad flu.
You need to see the 2021 "SOS" by him, and then basically anything else he's done, everything even. There's nothing like him in the world, he's entirely in a class of his own.
Also y'all might like Hua Chen Yu "Nunchucks" and "Nanping Evening Bell" as a rabbithole for a world-class artist, and also Diana Ankudinova "Can't Help Falling In Love" for an extremely unique voice.
