    Many players follow Leandro Lo's knee slide pass in the same way. Jon Thomas became famous because he delivered Leandro Law's technical system in English. Leandro Lo is the legendary player who has technically been the most influential player in modern Jiu-Jitsu.

      I could explain in deep Detail, but suggest that you are new to jiu jitsu.
      Watch Bernardo. He is lying on the ground, right? The First defense is to have a seated guard. Against a seated guard a knee Slide is useless.
      A lying guard is last Resort always.

    What about if they grab the pants instead of the ankle?

    • @InsertDeafultName
      @InsertDeafultName 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not sure which pant leg/ area grab you're referring to, but IMO, the force of the knee slice generates more than enough power to remove opponent's pants grip-- large muscle groups (of your legs and hips) vs small muscle groups (foes forearm and wrist) plus you have gravity and momentum on your side. My main thought is ensure you aren't diving straight into their sweep if they are baiting/ loading up a sacrifice sweep/ throw like Tomo Nage. Also could consider quickly transitioning to chain a slightly different guard pass if their attempt at a defense presents a different opening.
      TLDR; without knowing exactly what you mean, have a good, balanced base, and you should be fine. However you can always look to exploit the opening your opponent provides with a different movement and go path of least resistance.
      Lastly, this is almost half a year old, so maybe you figured it out on your own already haha
