So was the original story going to be about growing up instead of Toxic Positivity? Because one thing's clear both stories end with acceptance. Joy in this story accepts that Riley is growing up, and in the final it's acceptance of allowing Riley to feel other emotions
in the original story joy did not want riley to grow up. she was mean about it. also fear was called freaddy and was one of the main charecters replacing sadness as one and was the villan of the story
If there’s ever an Inside Out 3, i think it will explore the message of not wanting to grow up and accepting that we all have to move on
I highly think that the producers choosing to go for the emotion route for Inside Out 1 was the right choice since allowing yourself to feel other emotions is alot more harder and relatable compared to growing up which is much easier to accept.

@@wilTfrie I actually thought it would’ve made sense but I haven’t seen the sequel, but it seems like anxiety is actually going to be the main villain of that sequel.
I bet a version of this will appear in some fashion in sequel later

If this was kept, this would be the part in the movie where I would cry, not bing bong's death
Personally I cried at multiple parts where it reminded me of myself, where it reminded me of my own childhood lost. Though i did cry when bing bong died, because thats the point where joy realizes shes no longer a little kid. She no longer remembers when she stuck her tongue out while coloring, she forgot herself twirling around, and they never got to go to the moon. To me his death really signified her changing into a preteen, probably.
I feel like this would’ve made me cry or at least hit me more than Bing Bong’s death, not watching this as a 9 year old but as an 18 year old.

If these deleted scenes actually became the official Inside Out movie, I really like the concept of it because I think it shows better character development in Joy. Though, I could see why they changed and toned it down a bit in the actual movie. Some scenes didn’t really make sense with each other, and I feel as though this movie would mainly be for adults lol. Legit, I felt the tension in some of these deleted scenes and I was like 💀

I actually feel like maybe the scene could be read two ways joy losing her way and having to deal with the reality that Reily can’t stay a little kid forever and being deep in font,but also it can also be symbolic of depression since it feels like you’re drowning of waves of depression,anxiety fear and sadness.

I would say YES. The sequel ,with the repressed emotion thing, could be about the emotions finding a new way to the Head Quarters by exploring some parts or Riley that's unconscious.

I actually kind of wish this was not left on the cutting room floor and I think this would’ve been even emotional with bing bong sacrifice but I also really wish this could’ve been in the maybe bing bong could’ve stayed with the little Reily and he could’ve gotten the happy ending that didn’t involve him being forgotten.
Edit:Sorry if my comment may sound a little bit weird. Maybe she wouldn’t have looked like that if they fully animated her, but I thought she just looked like a typical teenage girl.

@@KirkErin I know there's already a sequel, what I meant is that if they took a turn of Joy actually thinking that Riley's puberty/growing up is a bad idea. I think this scene could have been a good use. But I still like the plot of the sequel.
I gotta agree that this scene is way too deep but the parents would probably understand this scene,, if they're trying to target that towards the parents who are too scared that their children will grow up and soon be distants to them.

Something about how she's always wanted this but she can't dance with her forever and that she's had her time with her little girl and that she doesn't need joy anymore but there's a big strong girl up there waiting for joy and how joy can't abandon her and then joy says goodbye to the little girl (aka past riley) and says that she'll always remember her or something like that if I remember correctly! :D
