Anyone else feel like when he went to step out of the truck one last time as he looked around the truck a bit of sadness. You could tell he didn’t want to get out and tried to brush it off
We have lost a lot of heros, stars etc in the USA. But it is amazing how many people connected with Dale Earnhardt. It been a lot of years and he still dominates the sport. He was larger than NASCAR and they knew it. He will forever be missed leading the pack at Daytona and DEGA !!!
I still remember the announcement... "it is the saddest day to bring you this news... we have lost Dale Earnhardt"... though I have never met the man in person, I felt like I lost a member of my family... I want to cry as I type this if only I COULD cry... and seeing that truck one last time makes it even more emotional... so long as that man is remembered, he will never truly die, he will live forever, in our hearts and in our memories... Dale Earnhardt: 1951-2001 may you forever be remembered...
Mr Childress again thank you sir for taking the time to include the driver who spent so many hours and miles in His Truck. I too can relate to what he feels like being a former driver myself. I loved my Pete like I’m sure he does. God bless you. Chip 😇
12 years have passed and still the emotion is there.. You can see it with this driver...You still hear it in the voices of the ones who knew Sr. You still see it in the faces of his fans...The respect given when you see the old number 3.. The respect that RCR has shown and continues to do...
Eric Bergan And only a person so slight of mind, would pick on someone solely based on what they do for a living. Get back to your desk.....slave Your cubicle misses you Oh wait.....you most likely don't have a job
Pot, meet kettle... Gotta admit though, the brotherhood of idiocy runs strong in truckers. One can plow into a guy at a red light at 63 mph, and his trucker butt buddies will still defend him.
Ok that's enough children! I'm an owner/operator with nearly 3 MILLION accident free miles. The truck drivers crashing and killing people every day are the ones that the big companies push through their so called schools every 6 weeks or so. On the other hand, MOST crashes involving trucks are actually caused by people in cars. The real reason that the truck driver gets the blame is that WE are the professionals and I guess WE are supposed to be able to read YOUR mind and know that YOU are going to make that lane change and then hammer your brake pedal in front of us. Oh...F.Y.I. I just bought another brand new Freightliner...this makes 5 that I own and I paid nearly $160k for it with a bank check drawn on my business account. At this point I'm thinking that I could buy any of you that made derogatory comments about truck drivers with $100 bills. Also notice that I can spell.
Me and my dad went to an event at Gateway about 25 years ago and we ate at the Burger King across the street and my dad was wearing his Earnhardt coat and we sat down to eat. A man walked over and asked if he could join us and he joined us. After a minute or so of talking Nascar and RCR and Earnhardt, he introduced himself as Earnhardts hauler driver and he was literally one if the nicest guys you could meet. I was so glad I stumbled on this video because it reminded me of this event and even as a six year old I can remember this guy
I think it'd be a neat deal if on the 20th anniversary of Dales passing RCR drove the hauler with the car back down to Daytona parked it next to Austins hauler and then during the pace laps they get someone to drive the 3 car around the track with the field of 40. I don't know why. I just think it'd be a cool sight for the 3 to return to Daytona one more time.
Joseph Henning I’m one of those Ole School Earnhardt fans from back in the day. The Hardcore fans. And I’m going to tell you something ok. The 3 Dillion drives IS NOT THE REAL BLACK #3. Only a imitation of THE REAL 3. Dillion wants you to believe that but us Real ole school Earnhardt fans from the day know better.
As a fan of Dale's since 1979, and a long time Earnhardt collector, I'd love it if they made a diecast of this hauler, exactly as it is in this video. I'd be the first in line to buy it.
Hard to believe it's been 20 yrs already. I remember that day like it was yesterday. Can tell you exactly where I was and what I was doing. Glad.efforts.are being made to preserve the history of one of the greatest drivers ever seen. RIP Dale.
Great use of "Explosions in the sky" for the music. One of my favorite bands on a piece related to my favorite driver as a kid. There will never be another like him.
Wish I could double thumbs up! Jimmy Dale Baldwin was one of my grandpa’s (Earl Pennington) friends. He’d bring dales car to local car shows. I’d be leaning in the window plumb to my ankles lol. Wasn’t allowed to get in and he’d just laugh! Long live number 3 and real truckers!!!
Still can’t watch anything about him without my eyes filling this crazy liquid stuff. I was born into Earnhardt fandom, as my father was a huge Earnhardt fan from the day he began his full time nascar ride with Osterlund in 79’. I was born in 78’ and it was burned into me as soon as I was old enough to understand English that we were more than just fans. He was the American don’t take crap from no one blue collar working man’s hero and we all considered ourselves family to him. I would still and have fought for him. I still have every die cast I ever bought of his cars, haulers and more since they began making the stuff in 89’ or so. Thank you for the bigger than life memories Dale. We love you always.
The Oppermans from Texas will always love and miss Dale Earnhardt Sr and we are are tagged as Dale Earnhardt Sr fanatics and we feel Blessed. #3 in our hearts forever..Jerry and Sugar Bear and Gloria and Bear from Tx!🙏😇🐻🚖3️⃣🥰
Good for you rcr dale would be happy the truck and trailer are together again he was the best damn driver in nsscar a long with davey allison rip dale and davey
R.I.P. intimidator, the racers racer, that’s about the time I stopped watching NASCAR, I’ll never forget his last race, what should have been one of his best days wound the worst day.
I thought the same thing.....imagine the memories and miles that were put on that truck. Not only saying goodbye to Dale, but saying good by to a truck as well had to be difficult. Much respect to this driver.
As both a truck driver and a NASCAR fan I've run along side most if not all of the haulers. I remember running with this Pete in my Shaker heading to Florida for that terrible day in 2001. I've been a fan of Dale Sr since 79 and still fly my Intimidator flags at the track. I own 5 tractors now and they're all black with silver and red stripes. Mine is #3! Winners come and go but heros are forever. 3 forever!
For some reason I've been watching some videos of Dale. I personally had a connection with him, since I was there to cut the roof off of his car in Daytona :-( I considered him a friend over the 30 years I worked there. As a Firefighter/Paramedic with the city, I saw numerous heartbreaking situations. His death affected me tremendously & I couldn't stand to go to the track in my capacity on the safety crew. I will never forget that horrible day! R.I.P. Dale
Amen! The 3, the 28, the 7 , all iconic numbers and should be retired. Thanks Richard Childress for the efforts to preserve these artifacts of your organization.
After pulling into the museum and parking the rig Jim Baldwin should of asked the camera man to grab all camera's and listening mic's and get out of the cab after they had all the video they needed so that he could have his personal time in there cuz if i were him i would wanna have some time in there to reminisce about old times w Dale Sr
A big time Thank You to all the Truckers out there- I haul horses now and again and it absolutely blows my mind how inconsiderate other drivers are to the big rig drivers- people need to understand the truck driver is as important as first responders- if the trucks are parked, no food, no meds, no beer or brown liquor ( good grief) no clothed.... nothing - I appreciate the Truckers and I always give y'all the rite of way, and plenty of room - especially on interstates and when stopped at intersections- those fuckin lines are there for a reason- Thanks again and God Bless the Knights of the Highways, the Big Rig Truck Driver- and all the delivery drivers as well
I was ever a fan of this team, i was a Bill Elliott Ford fan back in the day. Oh but how i miss this team and NASCAR from this period. I'm glad this truck and trailer is going in a museum, it's where it should be. When he was closing the door, it was closing the door of a era gone by. RIP Big E
This totally awesome you know if there was ever a truck to ride in I think you'd have to be this one it'll remind me when I used to ride with my dad and kids on the go
If you haven’t been to the RCR Museum I’m Welcome NC you should go . We cried tears we hadn’t in many years for the Intimidator. I don’t know if it’s just a good story but I remember reading a sign that basically said the day the driver left Daytona for the final time no one would pass him going up I -95
At the age of 18 I got to see this hauler I got to see the cars I grew up watching dale Sr race I was watching that fateful day as well my poppadaddy was a huge Sr. Fan getting to see the museum(a place he always wanted to go but sadly never got the chance) was emotional for me and my momma
I miss nascar it’s not just dale it’s Kenny and rusty that was the best nascar era at work we would bet on them by picking so many cars 1 to 40 never will nascar have like this again miss you dale
We miss Dale Earnhardt Sr. It's not the same anymore. Nice to see the dale hauler. Love you and much respect. He would be proud of his kid's. Love the Earhardt family. ☮👍💝😁
Used to work in sales around Michigan International Speedway. I always planned to try and be in the area around the track the week leading up to a race. Got to see a lot of haulers roll up the road towards MIS. Was never more excited than when I finally spotted the RCR #3 hauler. No matter how many times I stood on pit road during cup qualifying hoping he would walk down pit road. I didn't want an autograph I just wanted a handshake. That would have meant more to me than a scribbled autograph on a piece of paper. Then tragedy happened on a February day in 2001 and we all lost something.
When the NASCAR fleet ran through Shreveport, it was a sight to see. But that particular hauler was the closest to a true life Super Hero I could get when I got to see the RCR hauler running Interstate 20. 👍🇫🇷🇺🇲
Mr.Baldwin, I think that you had a relative in Little Rock, Arkansas. And we were a Band staying down the road.We played at the Checkmate in town in the early 90's. We would we the Dales Truck and go wow. And you were kind enough to give us some Earnhardt items. I hope this is you. If not God Bless.
+TyV Vulpintaur yes, the physical body sadly, but Dale will Always be with us ... ALWAYS! Thanks for posting, remembering and most of all Caring. In '83 he put one of his skilled hand's on my State Fair car walking by. I failed in taking only 2nd but wish I still had that fender ...
I'm so thankful I got to see Dale Sr race. Can't replace the memeories from the tracks & listening in on Dales channel. Colorful to say the least. Truely blessed to have been there & done that. Thanks RCR. Thanks Dale Earnhardt.
Please please please please bring this hauler to the Daytona 500 this year - it would mean the world to us the fans of Dale to see this...please consider it....
I watched this race in WI but had to drive back home to Illinois so I missed the part when he wrecked. I heard about it the next day and about lost my mind because I had just met Dale Earnhardt just a week prior just by chance. I still find it hard to believe even after 20 years he died.
I like the video. However I would have also liked to hear what he had to say in the interview earlier in the film. This is also a big part of the film as well. Was there a copy right making it so you had to play the music instead?
I was 11 when dale sr passed I remember after the race going to church then eating at applebees and the news on the tv had the hole place in a daze sad day
It is appropriate that the truck and transporter get officially retired as these parts of Dale Earnhardt / RCR history have a tremendous story to tell future generations. Thank you RCR.
I used to enjoy NASCAR but I haven't watched NASCAR regularly for roughly 15 years. Lately I have really enjoyed watching *Speed Energy Formula Off-Road* (SST)
This video is played on a loop in the hauler, as I first walked in it restarted and I knew the song instantly and I thought to my self they couldn't of chosen better song (First Breath After a Coma). I thought it was even cooler that they had Jim reconnect the original truck and hauler.
The tractor was an earlier version, we reconnected the tractor from 2001 with it's hauler to now sit in the museum.
@Pink Panther I mean it actually stopped turning September 11th
Anyone else feel like when he went to step out of the truck one last time as he looked around the truck a bit of sadness. You could tell he didn’t want to get out and tried to brush it off

Hard to believe he would have been 72 years old!
@@nashvillecop1 damn... thanks for making me feel old lol 😆
So cool to watch the driver be back with the hauler too. You could tell it had as much sentiment to him as anyone.
Mr Childress again thank you sir for taking the time to include the driver who spent so many hours and miles in His Truck. I too can relate to what he feels like being a former driver myself. I loved my Pete like I’m sure he does. God bless you. Chip 😇

I didn't even have to watch in order to know the tractor would be a black Pete 379! Doesn't get anymore American than that ladies and gents!
That was sad watching the black number 3 hauler go away for the last time R.I.P Dale
There's always 9/11/01. That's beyond worse.
Not really a nascar fan ... but I was a #3 fan and I bet that's true for a alot of us... Dale Made me wanna be racecar driver

Noah, that would be amazing if that happened.
Noah like the 2001 monty Carlo
Maybe have Jr drive it
20 years after dale won the 1998 Daytona 500
Austin Dillon put the 3 back in victory circle

Hard to believe it's been 20 yrs already. I remember that day like it was yesterday. Can tell you exactly where I was and what I was doing. Glad.efforts.are being made to preserve the history of one of the greatest drivers ever seen. RIP Dale.
Thank you RCR for doing this, Let the memories of the greatest driver in nascar carry on to others and for many years to come .
Great use of "Explosions in the sky" for the music. One of my favorite bands on a piece related to my favorite driver as a kid. There will never be another like him.
This is one of my favorite songs of all time. First Breath After Coma. One of the few things besides NASCAR that can bring tears to my eyes.
That peterbuilt is one badass vehicle
Jack Bitter p
It sure is
And that hand kept it spotless
This is a good thing you have done. Now he can rest with his ride. Bless RCR racing.
I remember the day I signed the wall and got to stand in the hauler at RCR Museum
me too
I love the compassion RC has. How cool they thought to make that call to have Dale's last drhver move it to the museum.

Broke me in tears. Gone but not forgotten. R.I.P. Dale #3
I remember the day that my wife and I signed the hauler at BMS. Cried my eyes out..
Thanks for sharing. Awesome video

This was sad to see. I used to see the hauler when he raced at Loudon. RIP Dale. We all miss you/
I know exactly where I'm going on my next trip to NC.
I got goose bumps watching this, wish I could go to north Carolina to see it.
This totally awesome you know if there was ever a truck to ride in I think you'd have to be this one it'll remind me when I used to ride with my dad and kids on the go

That same Peterbilt that was pulling the Hauler Trailer was up for sale in truck paper a few months ago in New York though I could be wrong
#3 forever man in black may you rest easily Dale Earnhardt keep watching down on us big guy
that's so bitter sweet, Sad it's off the road but awesome we are able to go see it ..
Lawdy.. man, oh man. I miss you Dale and always will
I love this part of the RCR museum.
When the NASCAR fleet ran through Shreveport, it was a sight to see. But that particular hauler was the closest to a true life Super Hero I could get when I got to see the RCR hauler running Interstate 20. 👍🇫🇷🇺🇲
Will have to back to the museum to this.
I cried we miss you dale! For3ver a fan
Wow this is very impacting to see after so many years. It's amazing how much people can impact the world.
Still can bring a tear even almost 20 years later
3 should have been permanently retired in 2001, end of discussion.
Ain't never gonna happen dipshit.
I agree. It’s sad to see it on the track now.
Absolutely!
It sure should have been.. Since the one driving it now couldn't carry Dale Earnhardt's lunch box...
10-4
What was the hauler used for between 2001 and when it was put in the museum? I have noticed the lift gate varies a bit to 2001 photos.
anyone notice paul menard's hauler speeding by in the background? LOL
Maclain Hammond When?
in the end
Maclain Hammond Now that I'd nobody.
Thats one slick rig
Love the sound of that engine shutting off.
15 years ago today, we lost the Intimidator.... :(
+TyV Vulpintaur yes, the physical body sadly, but Dale will Always be with us ... ALWAYS! Thanks for posting, remembering and most of all Caring. In '83 he put one of his skilled hand's on my State Fair car walking by. I failed in taking only 2nd but wish I still had that fender ...
And then came the impersonator!
its about to be 20 years
Thank u rcr.
I'm so thankful I got to see Dale Sr race. Can't replace the memeories from the tracks & listening in on Dales channel. Colorful to say the least. Truely blessed to have been there & done that. Thanks RCR. Thanks Dale Earnhardt.
The One and Only.Miss you Dale..
I had the privilege to tour it in the museum
He was my favorite driver toughbas nails to. RIP Dale the INTIMIDATOR EARNHARHARDT
That's a damn nice Peterbilt.
Please please please please bring this hauler to the Daytona 500 this year - it would mean the world to us the fans of Dale to see this...please consider it....
A fitting end I suppose. The emotion was incredible.
Awesome 🤠
I watched this race in WI but had to drive back home to Illinois so I missed the part when he wrecked. I heard about it the next day and about lost my mind because I had just met Dale Earnhardt just a week prior just by chance. I still find it hard to believe even after 20 years he died.

You have to be in the team and u have to know someone that's works for rcr racing u just can't just drive for them or apply. Totally different.
To,RCR..
I have a question.
Did a guy named Gary Porter drive this hauler as well??
There is no new #3, it will never be replaced.
I want his trucker hat. Anyone recognize or know where to scoop one these days. Black with the red bowtie
I was 11 when dale sr passed I remember after the race going to church then eating at applebees and the news on the tv had the hole place in a daze sad day
A fitting tribute for The Man ! Should have been done long ago .
I got a lump in my throat watching this.
It is appropriate that the truck and transporter get officially retired as these parts of Dale Earnhardt / RCR history have a tremendous story to tell future generations. Thank you RCR.
Rest in Peace Dale Earnhardt you will be missed forever and always
I used to enjoy NASCAR but I haven't watched NASCAR regularly for roughly 15 years.
Lately I have really enjoyed watching *Speed Energy Formula Off-Road* (SST)
this is beautiful ^^
This video is played on a loop in the hauler, as I first walked in it restarted and I knew the song instantly and I thought to my self they couldn't of chosen better song (First Breath After a Coma). I thought it was even cooler that they had Jim reconnect the original truck and hauler.
I also agree that the music was WAY too loud... I couldn't hear the interview. Sad! But a wonderful story ;-)
