i think it was because was BTS saying this, Eminem say way way more fuck up shit in his lyric about woman but people and even haters of Eminem already expect he say this type of things on his songs So When I first heard Eminem rapping about GOD i was like 'WTF WHATS IS HAPENNING' While BTS at the time was singing about HOPE,DREAM and LOVE, so when War of hormone come out was a shock to the korean people and let's stop to think this was Back in 2014 BTS was too small of a group and Korean people is way more conservative then us West people, here even a Female rapper is expect to Twerk and be half naked and have lyrics that Diminish Woman on their MV, So for us is obvious that is not too much but for korean then is other history. The sad part is that BTS don't perform this song anymore
By the way there are ending scene after the previews so you should watch until the end there also deleted and bonous scenes for each episodes I really recommend watching them it add a lot of context

Even if the lyric was “do them”…that has se3xual connotations when said in English, but is nonsensical when said it Korean. It doesn’t mean s3x the same way as it does in English. 3. Even if it was “do them” AND that meant s3x…so what? And it wasn’t the fans who had a problem with it, it was antis who wanted bts to have a scandal and latched onto it, blowing it up far bigger than necessary!

Hey Wes and Steph, I would really like to see you react to American Hustle Life. I know some fans don't recommend it, and don't get me wrong, there are lots of cringe moments in the series, but still, the boys are so endearing in it and there are lots of fun moments as well.
I’ve been a fan of BTS since debut and am personally of the opinion that a few of the lyrics from WAR OF HORMONE were indeed misogynistic. The thing is, I sort of accept most if not all boys / men to be misogynistic. Not actively. It’s certainly not inherent. But be it boy or girl, man or woman, most societies around the world are patriarchal and have long lasting histories of misogyny and so, we’re prone to implicit biases or ignorant to confuse the norm with what’s acceptable. To not absorb SOME of it when you’re still young and impressionable would be an incredible feat in my opinion. So many songs we deem ‘flirtatious’ between a man and woman are usually pretty cringe in that regard because society hasn’t even progressed far enough for such songs to shock anybody. In most rap songs, women are synonymous with bitches. Even women that they love! It’s always my bitch this and my bitch that lol. There’s also the idea that women are something to ‘get’ - often listed alongside material desires like money or cars. The idea that you have to hustle to ‘win’ a woman over. It bleeds into all media we consume. Antis definitely had a field day blowing things out of proportion but I do find it discouraging when people can’t acknowledge that the concerns were primarily raised by people who would’ve been uncomfortable hearing such things. I was however, floored by the resolve BTS had to announce they’d pay close attention to their lyrics in future and that’s what made me proud at the time to continue to be their fan. I don’t expect perfection from anyone but it takes a lot to recognise there are things that you don’t know could be harmful that you did or said without the intention of hurting anybody and wanting to take some sort of responsibility for that. I want to reiterate that MOST of the song is still pretty harmless. Their mistakes and ignorance is just always going to be heavily scrutinised with the nature of being a public figure. It isn’t fair and imo, stunts personal growth at the best of times but over the years, I think they’ve always shown themselves to be pretty level headed and have a good enough support system within eachother and whoever else is around them to use criticism as an engine for growth. Even when it is most likely just being weaponised to bash them. It’s admirable.

It's not a reason to "cancel" them or whatever, War of Hormone is still a banger, but we cannot ignore the fact that misogyny is just very common in songs. Also they have explored sex before.
