it's not just prostitution, but since most adults still live with their parents, couples often go to hotels for fun times/to get away, so it's convenient to rent in hourly increments. It's also why PC rooms are so popular, so people can play online games in peace.
the 'day use' culture is not about prostitution. I mean of course that happens too, but it's mainly about how young adults arrange intimate encounters. A lot of people live in small spaces, especially in the big cities, or with their parents/family (until they get married, and sometimes even after that), so it's easier to book a hotel, even for people who are in an established relationship. It's waaaay more common to book a hotel for a short time in korea, it's not a fringe behaviour. that's why he joked about it being quasi traditional.
This show is hilarious, I love how they mix Korean and English in just one phrase lol, also love when they got all hyped because their fathers worked for SK energy lol, so random but so funny!!! I discovered this show because of Namjoon and I thank him for that, I knew you were going to like it too!!

Yay, I recommend you guys watch other episodes. I think this show is right up your alley. They've had a lot of big stars on since RM, great people before him too. But since he was on they've had tons of international stars like actors from the MCU.

I’m from Malaysia, during my mom’s day (60’s 70’s) we live in a village it’s usually sugar , oil, eggs. But my days I just gave money in the packet to the host or household items like electrical goods ( rice cooker , iron, electric kettle) usually household items so the newly weds can use

Same reaction. I was actually clicking their interview to know RM's income tax but ends up enjoying the show that after knowing the "income tax" was not tackled, I didn't get disappointed.
In the Philippines, wedding gifts are usually home stuff or appliances to help the newly weds furnish their house! Ranges from air fryers to towels to microwave ovens to pillows to utensils! Just a bunch of stuff that the newly weds could start with. I think it's very practical.

Actually, in some parts in Asia, you can book for a few hours. Other do it for "ehem" stuff, others just book for a short nap and shower after a long business trip. It's an hourly rate.

There was a censored audio right before that, they talk about a notifications on messenger app. it gave a birthday notification on users' follower list. So we can send a present right away by chat. and Koreans also don't give some money for friend's birthday present. We usually give money for Wedding and funeral. As a middle class(?) standards, it's from 25 dollars(student, or just a acquaintance not that close) to over thousands. or home appliances.

I used to give $100 for myself or myself & my bf later fiancé, later husband...I would've certainly increased to $200, but since 2021, we have attended 18 weddings up and down the East Coast (close friends and relatives) and 6 coming up in 2024. I was in maybe 5 of those wedding parties but attended most of the friends' bridal showers and local/destination bachelorette parties. It adds UP so so so fast and I'm stressed just typing it out!! We also got married in 2022 (no bachelorette or bachelor party for us though), so we may start matching what other couples gave to us when their weddings happen this or next year.
I’m from Indonesia but I’m ethnically Chinese and I’ve never actually went to weddings that’s not Chinese so I can’t really say what a normal Indonesian weddings are like. But, for Chinese weddings we usually just give money for gifts… there’s not really any wedding registry/actual gifts given.. all the guests just bring money in an envelope.. unless you’re direct family. Then maybe gold jewelry?

The one thing I do not understand is the korean beauty standard. I mean RM is gorgeous but he says the rap line leave looking good to the vocal line. What is that about? Even in Cypher 4 he says face not an idol.... because that's a common criticism. He is a brand representative for the fashion label Bottega, Venneta and wears clothes like a model so I just don't get it.
