TKK - question - does the color look richer on the King because of the pinkish tint? I am starting to think the colors look more natural on the B9 but richer on the King. Does that seem accurate to you?
True blacks of the Oled are unnatural. It doesn't exist in nature. There are always some light sources. B9 looks more natural and generally better overall. In the Troy movie comparison you can clearly see how the colors of the Oled are oversaturated. Again B9 looks more natural
In the light of being able to involve anything like High Dynamic Range in any kind of display or projection tech, just to achieve improved colour gamut, contrast and so forth why does this now involve black levels? Oled works to score where previous display media hadn't even bothered with. Suffice to say HDR set a kind of standard which they must all comply with. If you can get your criterion to be as good or better than say early plasmas, then you're good to go.
Thank you my bro' for the videos, we realize the quality of the product compared to the QD OLED which was the best Sony television. If you could test SDR too that would be nice, like Japanese anime (one piece, Naruto, dragon ball, Ghibli, whatever) and eb sdr films that would be great. enjoy your monitor euuuuh sorry television lol
Master series are meant to be calibrated from the factory. Part of what you are paying for is the "Sony look". I would never bother calibrating a Sony flagship. You'd have a different image, perhaps technically closer on a meter, but Sony settings usually try and correct for the difference between OLED and LCD in terms of perceived color. You can tune a OLED and a LCD so that a meter says the are "the same". They will NOT look the same to our eyes. That's where the modified white point Sony uses comes in to help balance it out compared to blindly following the meter.
Which picture setting are you using please? Professional is supposed to be the more accurate for Sony. I believe it was disgarded as too dim in previous videos? I also keep hearing qd OLED has more saturated colors. Please note that b9 like x95L uses quantum dot. Sony calls it something else, usual marketing fluff. See Vincent review of x95L.
@@AllAboutTKK thank you sir. Any reason you are not using the professional mode supposed to be the more accurate? When you selected it in a previous video, the picture changed dramatically. Hard to judge on a video however so worth asking you
For the marginal difference in picture quality like slightly deeper blacks, better viewing angles and colour vibrancy on the OLED I think I'd trade that for the bigger 85" B9 over the 77" A95L. Also there are some picture quality areas like peak brightness and extra detail in dark scenes where the B9 comes out on top. Both fantastic TV's and I don't think you could go far wrong with either but the B9 would be better in brighter rooms.
@@AllAboutTKK Exactly I currently have a 65" LG OLED and I want to go a lot bigger and also change the configuration of my room so I'm sitting much closer at about 10ft away. I currently only have a 19.5° field of vision which doesn't make for an immersive viewing experience. Ideally it should be about 35° to 40°.
I love watching movies and hate to see light bleed in black bars, a lot ot tvs basically have the led's switched off in these areas. It seems the b9 gets blooming in the bars, is it noticeable? Ii find this can make an expensive tv look cheap. About to order tge B9 but this bugs me.
@twosawyers Seems to me the opposite could also be said. I'm sure the B9 has tons of ways to bring up the color. They both look great. But it seems to me that the B9 would have the best options for the most non dark room viewing conditions like a typical living room or family room. Plus the added benefit of being able to take advantage of future higher brightness rated content.
The usual good work with balance. Good to see the B9 up there with the A95L with movies. I have not seen this level of detail and diversity from others. Peace, your're appreciated.
Me too! I'll be upgrading my family room TV from my beloved Sony 83" A90J Master Series OLED TV to Sony's new 85" BRAVIA 9 QD MiniLED TV. We're also adding the 85" BRAVIA 9 in our A/V store showroom display.
@@michael-4k4000 Yes, good advice, but also know the new BRAVIA 9 QD MiniLED TV has Sony's new upgraded BackLight Master Drive that controls every tiny MinLED, not just the large local dimming zone like all other backlight LED TVs control. And this year Sony upgraded the contrast control and processing to control the luminance levels and color saturation of every tiny MiniLED in the new larger Backlight Master Drive. So The BRAVIA 9 has deeper blacks, and is significantly brighter and the greatly increased contrast ratio with the deep blacks capability and very high peak luminance is expertly controlled by Sony's new 2nd generation of the XR Processor rendering very dynamic and detailed images form all content. Tomorrow morning we're demonstrating Sony's 85" BRAVIA 9 TV in our A/V Showroom.
OLED looks better to me but Im gonna grab the B9 in 85 just for the size gain over 77. From what I can see I'll still be happy with it. Thanks for the content
We need a reference monitor for these two beasts ,this is why I love accuracy so I know that the picture can’t look any better than what the creator intended
Fomo did a reference monitor video for the Bravia 9 against LG G4 and Samsung S95D. The Bravia 9 got closer to the reference monitor particularly in shadow detail whilst maintaining contrast, however the S95D has slightly better colour saturation.
Thanks for movie footage. You may be able to calibrate A95L to show more detail. Otherwise, out of the box B9 shows more but pops less and loses color. And may be the better option if you prioritise bright room viewing.
The black crush on the A95L imho comes from incorrect calibration. I can see all the details in Batman vs Superman scene on my Sony Oled and it's not even a master seriesl OLED but an old A80J.
Great video I think that you’re one of the only TH-camrs out there posting the content that everyone wants to see, especially when it comes to these two TVs thank you
In bright scenes, OLED is completely crushed by MINILED. OLED simply cannot cope with large-scale scenes above 2000 nits. My decision will be B9 and there will be more 4000 nits movie in the future.
I had to go twice in the store and look at both next to each other. I'm not saying you're methodology is wrong, but at least the G4 did not look so oversaturated. Ended up buying 77 G4 over 85 B9
The A95L has better focus and depth of field compared to the B9. I have the A95k with the same results. The B9 black levels may not be accurate to the film director intent. The A95k was 98% accurate to a Sony reference monitor. People will only buy the B9 for the over brightness and shadow details and miss out on the preferred accuracy which I like.
Thanks for all your constructive views on both of these great TVs. The only "best TV" is in the eye of the person who owns it. People just need to get any top 5 tier TV and adjust it for your eye and you should be extremely happy with it for at least 5 years. I myself have the 77" G4 and absolutely love it because of it's all around performance and it probably has the most adjustments of any TV on the planet so that you can really fine tune it to any content you are watching. Keep up your great TV reviews!
Sony is starting to show that led still has the best of both worlds through time? OLED is dope but might lose again like plasma just because it also has its limits and is damn expensive!?
@@ecoveggie It's all very well comparing TVs with the settings as identical as possible, but I don't see the point of it. I want to see TVs showing identical footage with the settings changed as necessary to make the footage look identical in terms of colour, contrast, sharpness etc.
Shadow detail looks weard in this video. The B9 looks lifted and generally washed out and the A95L looks crushed. I'd love to have a reference monitor in between them for a comparison. Judging from how it looks in this video, I'd say it should be somewhere in between the two and none gets it right. Hard to say without seeing them in person though.
I would say shadow detail looks like any other lcd. Just lifted. A lot are trying to say this is an advantage but take an lcd from 10 years ago it will look the same! Just lifted! My Sony X95K does the same thing in dark scenes like that. My Oled is crisp and polished. Omg I’ve become an Oled snob! Don’t buy one or the same thing will happen to you! Keep in mind that I wish lcd could catch up because I still fear burn in.
So, I don’t think many OLED users are going to like the Bravia 9, but give it a chance. The highlights on the Bravia 9 are much brighter than any OLED currently on the market, and the natural look of the color is incredible. It’s worth the trade-off IMO.
I've watch several of these comparisons now between the Bravia 9 and the A95L. Overall I like the Bravia 9 more, seems to reveal more detail to darker scenes and images. Though I'm quite fond of OLED for animations and cartoons, it really makes the colors pop for cell shading or already high contrast content. Though for me I'm also a PC gamer, and I feel the Bravia 9 is a safer choice to avoid potential burn in. Windows, web browsers, PC applications, and games all have a lot of static UI. Which for me is a determent for OLED on PC, at least monitors counter it to a degree by having way less brightness vs an OLED TV. OLED may be the choice for pixel response and fast paced competitive gaming. But for me, I just play more casual games, plenty of survival games and RPGs. Being able to see those minor details in dark environments while exploring in a game looking for loot or being weary of enemies sneaking around.. I think I'd prefer the Bravia 9 for my use. If I were just buying a TV for strictly watching content, I'd probably pick the A95L. As I mostly watch a lot of animations, cartoons, anime. In the last 7 years or so, I've only watched maybe 10 new movies, most of the movies I enjoy are older films. Things like older films starring Mel Gibson, Jackie Chan, Eddie Murphy, Jim Carrey, Robbin Williams, and Cary Elwes. I certainly appreciate the various in-depth comparisons from reviewers. As far as I've seen in reviews here on YT, and in person at store displays. The Bravia 9 should be perfect for my tastes, and use in an HTPC setup.
I don't know if it's the camera but in Troy, the B9 looks more natural and the only choice really between the two. In the others, it's a tough call but I think the B9 wins because of detail. I think OLEDs try to get around their APL limitations by darkening dark scenes and putting all that juice into the bright objects. It's the right call especially if the TV is used in a dark room. Subtitles which 50% of folks use could literally change the pecking order completely because subtitles are the #1 blooming offenders.
Would require a panel from Samsung Display, with this being so proprietary I think that be the issue. Be nice to see if they lease out the tech to others.
7:25 It’s moments in dark scenes like these that make me realize and wonder how many additional details have I been missing by having an OLED. Don’t get me wrong, I love the richness of OLED technology’s colors, but is it something that I’m willing to give up in lieu of seeing the full picture? Some directors purposefully hide things in movies with specific shadow tricks, but if an OLED is going to crush them out, then you never get to truly enjoy those Easter eggs. Once they figure out their 4-port HDMI 2.1 issue by either utilizing a different chipset maker or making their own, I’ll be ready to join Sony’s mini LED crew.
Turn up your brightness. It's literally that simple to fix. There is no inherent issue, it's just out of the box settings. If I turn my c1 to 55-60 brightness it looks a lot more like an LED and has the shadow detail you would expect. You still don't have to deal with any bloooming so even if you had the tiniest bit of raised black, you won't notice it. Auto dynamic contrast may also open up your shadow detail depending on the tv's processing. If you have an LG, put the setting on low and it will do that. My c1 goes from looking like the A95L to looking more like the Bravia 9 just by using auto dynamic contrast on low. That can be VERY useful for watching in a bright room. Your gamma setting will also adjust your midtones without changing the absolute black level, so using a setting that has a 2.2 gamma instead of the 2.4 is another option.
@@paulcox2447 My TV was calibrated using Portrait Displays AutoCal and the recommended settings for a bright room. On a GX, there is only so much the TV can do during the day. The crushing of blacks is something I mention occurring with Dolby Vision content, which we all know is 90-100 on the brightness range. Even at night, certain scenes of Haunting of Hill House were difficult to make out completely. It’s not a simple fix, it’s a weakness which LG responded by creating MLA panels to address since they realized themselves that there may be an issue…
After having an oled, non oled tvs all looked washed. More Brightness would be nice, but its not something i personally must have. But both tvs look good.
Bravia 9 appears to be more relistic overall, with better lighting and black detail. Qd-oled color looks over saturated. However, on the flip side, the color looks much more pretty. Overall, bravia 9 looks better imo.
Yup he said what I anyways observed on lcd “Mist like!” That’s the biggest difference between the two technologies at first appearance. It’s like buffing a car! One is hazy and one is polished already. The other one looks like it still needs some more polishing. I feel like the blacks are sufficient but until lcd gets rid of that haze it will never look as good as the Oled no matter the brightness colors whatever!
@@AllAboutTKK Gloss would be really bad for reflections. Even in a totally dark room the TV just lighting the room would get reflections right back into the black areas and act like a mirror. I had a Gloss panel monitor long ago. Sure it presented deeper black and colors. But it was offset with that I could see myself in the monitor at all time and I turned off all the lights it was infuriating. Because my eyes was fighting to see through the reflections. Gloss is also not really the problem or solution here. A miniLED is not going to have OLED contrast all the time. As for colors it's a QDOLED, it will just have more color gamut so that won't change. The B9 isn't actually doing anything wrong. It's people getting used to OLED contrast and crush even that makes them think they look "less". But the B9 proved in all the content here he showed the shadow detail. Sometimes contrast isn't everything. It can become artificial. Also, if you watch content with lights on. Doesn't have to be bright. It reduces the contrast difference as well.
I keep thinking, the best TV would be a mix between these two. The darkness of OLED but without the crush as seen in the Miniled. The brightness of the Miniled but with the contrast of the OLED.
All tv manufacturers have the technology already. It’s called Micro-LED. The best of both OLED and LED with zero drawbacks. It’s just too expensive to mass produce for consumers right now.
Just setup an exchange for the 85 B9 from the 83 G4. Too many issues with G4 and WOled in general. It’s an end of life tech that has been lapped by QD-Oled. TV’s up to 77” go QD-Oled, over 77” it’s Mini-LED time. That is until Micro LED or larger QD-Oleds.

@sonyx4500 Nope, QDoled doesn't even have pure black and it's too dim, can't exceed 1300 nit for longer Tham 10 seconds. Oled is just garbage tech and it's declining for good
@@electronbashful540 Oled have true black. Camera doesn't show it properly. There is no need for useless Brightness. Movies are watched in a dark room. And Oled kills Mini Led there. Don't fool yourself. Then you get other advantages like the much faster pixel response times and wider viewing angles. The Bravia 9 uses the slow VA Panel.
This is the first time I even noticed that an oled as good as the A95L crushes the dark details. You would never know that there were windows behind if there's no comparison. Wow great review.
The Bravia 9 shows more detail in dark images compared to A95L in the 1st movie. They both good but the Bravia 9 shows the details in the dark images. The last movie shows a bright scene that the 9 shows how it should be shown, the A95L showed it to color saturated and not as bright in a bright scene.
the colors are oversaturated on the oled with your settings. more natural on the B9. skintones especially look really bad and fake. the oled can look more natural with some tweaking, but the biggest problem I see is the same as every oled - dark scenes are too dark and too much detail is missing. so the B9 wins this one for me, and since the B7 is nearly just as good - then B7 it is for me! (it will be replacing my panasonic oled actually, and actually B7 scored higher on grey uniformity and black uniformity on rtings than the B9 did)
Great comparison. Thanks! In the future when you’re recording in the dark, maybe you can use a stick or something thin to point with instead of your hand or remote because you end up blocking a good portion of the screen and since it’s dark, it’s hard to tell what you’re pointing at. I’ve seen some TH-camrs use a stick with a little cartoon hand pointing its finger at the end. 😆
What’s killing me are all the comments about the OLED’s color in these videos. It’s not even close to being accurate. The B9 is more accurate in these vids and the OLED’s blacks are being crushed most of the time. The OLED is capable of producing accurate colors when calibrated. As is the B9. Although, in professional mode, the B9 is color accurate from the factory.
Good morning TKK. Listen, great video. You know I can't believe Sony's last years top Oled looked this bad. Last year Top Oled TV, really So one of many were definitely fooled. If the b9 was 100" , and in some parallel universe, the same cost as the a95l at 77" then itd be worth getting... Otherwise, that contrast loss and that price tag... no way. Youre better off with a tcl qm8 at 100" for the same price. Sony premium mini led at premium price is kind of an oxymoron. Premium isnt mini led, so the price tag of premium with this TV doesn't make sense.
This is a really interesting comparison, as a proud owner of the A95L I have got to say that the Bravia 9 looks very impressive with the extra detail, but I’m not sure if that extra detail would be the directors intent? As after watching it back in my A95L the dark scenes on Batman look a bit more fitting on the Oled ? But I definitely like the convenience of a LED with no burn in risk etc . If I had the space and budget for a big screen then I would definitely consider the Bravia 9. Last year I compared the X95L vs A95L and felt a bit underwhelmed with the Sony X95L so I chose to buy the A95L instead . But I feel after watching this video my decision might have been more difficult! Great video look forward to seeing more on this !
LED definitely has better near black handling than oled and almost a bi product of the blooming also i think adds to this. Other times it just presets and obvious blooming. Love big areas of hdr on LED where the oled apl would immediately mute that large bright area. But smaller areas, specular highlights far superior in oled. Trades forward and back. How long until we get a tv that does both i wonder!
Yup if I had all the money in the world I would pick the Bravia 9 for sure because it's still pretty expensive for what it is atm since I don't have all the money in the world 😂

You can tune a OLED and a LCD so that a meter says the are "the same". They will NOT look the same to our eyes. That's where the modified white point Sony uses comes in to help balance it out compared to blindly following the meter.
Bravia 9 @ 75 inches better than the a80j @ 75 inches?
Yes
Which picture setting are you using please? Professional is supposed to be the more accurate for Sony.
I believe it was disgarded as too dim in previous videos?
I also keep hearing qd OLED has more saturated colors. Please note that b9 like x95L uses quantum dot. Sony calls it something else, usual marketing fluff. See Vincent review of x95L.
Cinematic with identical settings.
@@AllAboutTKK thank you sir. Any reason you are not using the professional mode supposed to be the more accurate? When you selected it in a previous video, the picture changed dramatically. Hard to judge on a video however so worth asking you
How’s the off center viewing angles?
Perfect on the QD OLED and "ok" on the Bravia. Off axis OLED always kills mini-led with dimming zones. Just the nature of the beasts.
Hey TKK do you see the same blooming in person at 1:03
No. Camera picks up more of that because of reflection to light on the lens.
@@Diablesrouges365 words but 77-85” is actually huge especially depending on if a person has come from 77”, size is king with motion picture.
@Diablesrouges365 scientific!
B9 is my choice but I prefer to wait another Year, I’m not in rush
It’s crazy how much better the Bravia 9 looked on street fighter. Like, no comparison
Prefer the Bravia9 look :-) so black levels on a pixel level is the everything apparently. Brightness matters too.
Bravia 9 would look better if colors are calibrated plus with the white point being closer. The black levels will be better.
I love watching movies and hate to see light bleed in black bars, a lot ot tvs basically have the led's switched off in these areas. It seems the b9 gets blooming in the bars, is it noticeable? Ii find this can make an expensive tv look cheap. About to order tge B9 but this bugs me.
Switched off. Do you mean down?
I think this tv does the best job of any others in that regard.
God hdr, wow
the bravia 9 is more realistic the oled has more pop an richer color depends what you like
I always liked skin tones better on LED, they don't have that bluish tint on them.
Again and more evident is this comparison.. the B9 has more details in the bright and dark scenes.
A95L for my money 💰. However, the 9 certainly isn't bad. 😳
Absolutely. The A95L has a ton of settings to bring out details.
Sounds like the B9 is worth getting. This is from someone who is exclusively oled
The usual good work with balance. Good to see the B9 up there with the A95L with movies. I have not seen this level of detail and diversity from others. Peace, your're appreciated.
Thank you.
I'm definitely getting the 85 inch Bravia 9!!!
Me too! I'll be upgrading my family room TV from my beloved Sony 83" A90J Master Series OLED TV to Sony's new 85" BRAVIA 9 QD MiniLED TV. We're also adding the 85" BRAVIA 9 in our A/V store showroom display.
@@valueelectronics9390that’s a downgrade bro.
Got the 83“ A80L and couldn’t be happier.
U can't go wrong. U might want to check out the X95L 85" as well, it is very similar. Just doesn't get as bright and U will probably save $1500-$2k.
The oled colors look unnatural and oversaturatd which is clear when u watch the Troy scenes
@@DinoT-r2q His settings aren't right it's almost like he has a warm preset on
Same.
We need a reference monitor for these two beasts ,this is why I love accuracy so I know that the picture can’t look any better than what the creator intended
Currently the A95L is the tv that has gotten closest to a sony reference monitor
Fomo did a reference monitor video for the Bravia 9 against LG G4 and Samsung S95D. The Bravia 9 got closer to the reference monitor particularly in shadow detail whilst maintaining contrast, however the S95D has slightly better colour saturation.
What picture settings mode is used on the A95L - vivid? Troy looks horrible
Thanks for movie footage. You may be able to calibrate A95L to show more detail. Otherwise, out of the box B9 shows more but pops less and loses color. And may be the better option if you prioritise bright room viewing.
Wow. Bravia 9’s brightness is just nutty. Get a whole lot more detail where there wasn’t any on the A95L.
Wooooord somebody finally get it
To be fair I don't think he has the brightness ramped up because even on my a80j scenes don't look that dark or its just a camera thing..
@drunkhusband6257 but of course.
bro I can't tell you, as I sit on the fence between basically these two tv's, how helpful your content and opinions are.
Glad to help homies.

@@AllAboutTKK Hey TKK, if you don't mind just pull subtitles to see how the B9 handles them. Surprisingly, 50% of people use subtitles on their TVs.

@@AllAboutTKKI use captions on my s90c, so that worries me a little, but so far it's fine.
I definitely prefer the B9. The black crush on the A95L would be a deal breaker for me.
The black crush on the A95L imho comes from incorrect calibration. I can see all the details in Batman vs Superman scene on my Sony Oled and it's not even a master seriesl OLED but an old A80J.
We need a G4 vs B9 video
The bravia 9 shows so much more detail in dark scenes there is a lot of black crush on the OLED, Bravia 9 for the win.
Way to much blooming on the B9 Couldn't put up with that A95l is better
I had to go twice in the store and look at both next to each other. I'm not saying you're methodology is wrong, but at least the G4 did not look so oversaturated.
Ended up buying 77 G4 over 85 B9
@@CastIronEric happy for you.
@@AllAboutTKK thanks bro! Psyched for the delivery
By the way I don't know if you know but Batman V Superman was shot in our hometown Detroit.
Much appreciated comment.
Both TV were in professional picture mode? On DCI-P3 or BT2020. It's seems like the A95L is with the BT2020
Thank you.
Sony is starting to show that led still has the best of both worlds through time? OLED is dope but might lose again like plasma just because it also has its limits and is damn expensive!?
The Bravia 9 is giving more details but only at the expense of deeper blacks. To me, the Bravia 9 looks too light and washed out compared to the A95L.
Agreed. B9 is totally washed out!
Bravia sucks, like an old Led mini tv from the past…only micro led k surpass oled
I wish Sony would come out with a 98-inch Bravia 9. Come on, Sony, make my wish come true.
Would require a panel from Samsung Display, with this being so proprietary I think that be the issue. Be nice to see if they lease out the tech to others.
It's coming, trust us, it's coming. May take a few years, but it will come.......
They would release it at a price you're not going to pay.. Might as well ask their next 8K Z series to be 98 inches too if you're willing to pay 50 K
Your settings are incorrect then you need to raise the brightness, color boost, and black level settings
After having an oled, non oled tvs all looked washed. More Brightness would be nice, but its not something i personally must have. But both tvs look good.
I'm sold. It's Bravia 9 for me ❤.
Lcd tv is not for me,bravia 9 is good for Sony profit, but oled is tech what counts.
Bravia 9 appears to be more relistic overall, with better lighting and black detail.
Qd-oled color looks over saturated. However, on the flip side, the color looks much more pretty.
Overall, bravia 9 looks better imo.
Qd-oled is capable of more colors having greater color volume and gamut
Is it oversatured or is the Bravia 9…undersaturated??
*rubs chin*
Yup he said what I anyways observed on lcd “Mist like!” That’s the biggest difference between the two technologies at first appearance. It’s like buffing a car! One is hazy and one is polished already. The other one looks like it still needs some more polishing. I feel like the blacks are sufficient but until lcd gets rid of that haze it will never look as good as the Oled no matter the brightness colors whatever!
Really curious as to know if they can do a gloss screen.
@@AllAboutTKK I remember those tinted glossy screens on those giant projection TVs from the 90s. I wonder if that would help.
Idk if he has black adjust or turning it off makes my B9 rich. Black adjust will cause haze
So glad I came upon this video man. I just purchased the 9 mini and I’m so glad I did 🙏
I keep thinking, the best TV would be a mix between these two. The darkness of OLED but without the crush as seen in the Miniled. The brightness of the Miniled but with the contrast of the OLED.
Bingo.
You get that with the A95L. You can make minor adjustments to lift the blacks in order to view the grey detail
All tv manufacturers have the technology already. It’s called Micro-LED. The best of both OLED and LED with zero drawbacks.
It’s just too expensive to mass produce for consumers right now.
Buy an OLED, raise brightness up a few notches, done. Perfect mix between the 2. Black levels are very fixable.
@@paulcox2447 agreed
Just setup an exchange for the 85 B9 from the 83 G4. Too many issues with G4 and WOled in general. It’s an end of life tech that has been lapped by QD-Oled. TV’s up to 77” go QD-Oled, over 77” it’s Mini-LED time.

B9 absolutely destroys QDOLED
Bravia 9 get absolutely destroyed at 1:09. Lots of blooming there
@sonyx4500 Nope, QDoled doesn't even have pure black and it's too dim, can't exceed 1300 nit for longer Tham 10 seconds.
Loving these videos man. I perfer the mini led as the reds look too strong on the qd bro.
I would be happy with either one, Sony is Sony
This is the first time I even noticed that an oled as good as the A95L crushes the dark details.
You would never know that there were windows behind if there's no comparison.
Wow great review.
Which settings did you apply out of the box, Professional on both? The Bravia 9 doesn't appear to be crushing shadow details, wheras the OLED does.
Batman the black hallway scene. The muzzle flashes from the guns is a good test
What film is this on?
@@AllAboutTKK The Batman from 2022. Robert Pattinson.
the colors are oversaturated on the oled with your settings. more natural on the B9. skintones especially look really bad and fake. the oled can look more natural with some tweaking, but the biggest problem I see is the same as every oled - dark scenes are too dark and too much detail is missing. so the B9 wins this one for me, and since the B7 is nearly just as good - then B7 it is for me!
Good point, I’ll keep that in mind.
Another great comparison! Thank you for doing this work. They both look incredible but I’m sold on the Bravia 9 85”.
Kudos for the Batman content
Thank you!
They do trade blows.
Bravia 9 looks very good but blacks look gray in certain scenes, very detailed though.
You know maybe if you had a 2024 Oled like LG G4 OR SONY' new Oled. TKK I see where this mini led has drastically improved.
Enjoy your new set man.
Keep the vids coming. Proud of you man.
I like the 9 better for sure
LED definitely has better near black handling than oled and almost a bi product of the blooming also i think adds to this. Other times it just presets and obvious blooming. Love big areas of hdr on LED where the oled apl would immediately mute that large bright area. But smaller areas, specular highlights far superior in oled. Trades forward and back. How long until we get a tv that does both i wonder!
Here's a tip. Get a red dot pointer so you can point to the differences from where you're standing.
Appreciate the tip, will look into.
That’s not a good idea, the laser could hurt the pixels
If spending this much amount of money, I just couldn’t drop this on a translucent display
U can't really tell what picture is accurate without a reference monitor, and the bravia 9 has that LED light I hate after seeing OLED.
QD OLED wins ❤
Idk what you did to that a95l settings but mine I can see every detail in that batman vs superman scene, stop lying to people.
In the Troy scene, both TVs have a yellow tint to it. The A95L looks a bit warmer but I don’t know what the original content is supposed to look like.
bravia 9 raised blacks while a95 crushing blacks. Both need a lot more calibration
Yup if I had all the money in the world I would pick the Bravia 9 for sure because it's still pretty expensive for what it is atm since I don't have all the money in the world 😂
The A95L is much better still.
