Had a vasectomy April 2024. Procedure took no more than 10 minutes and I was fine during it, and I'm prone to feeling lightheaded just from blood draws. Felt slight pain one time when the surgeon pulled/tugged on the vas deferens on the right side. Was sore/had some discomfort for about a week after, then slight discomfort for another week, then 100% back to normal by week two. Zero pain since then.

Here's information from a medical website:
Persistent testicular pain (PVPS) is the most frequent vasectomy complication that can adversely affect quality of life. Because of this, it should be included in the vasectomy consent process. Due to a lack of prospective data and differing definitions for post-vasectomy pain, consensus on incidence has not been reached. In available studies, a wide range of incidence from 14-33% is reported for any testicular pain after vasectomy. A smaller group of patients, 1-5%, have severe pain that affects quality of life or sexual function. A conservative estimate for chronic PVPS of 1-5% of vasectomized men may be warranted based on available data, but the overall incidence may be higher.

As long as you don't do dumb shit for a week like lifting or marathons you'll most likely be just fine.

@Wesley Hartland reason? (notice his deep breath before answering the question regarding sex life after? and also at the end "would you do again?" his answer is so objective, meaning it's possibly the same answer he would have given before the V. Lacks any emotion and excitement.) I think the V cuts a tube that nature put there. The tube is like plumbing and plumbing can hold pressure (sex drive trigger) V also cuts the tube; a connection that would have otherwise been there during sex, a connection with the woman.. I would not get the V again or recommend it to men. I think much of the human body is still being discovered and essentially many unknowns we can't explain regarding energy. Vasectomies are often presented as safe and simple, but they also have many unpleasant side effects that are rarely acknowledged. Many men get vasectomies without being made fully aware of these risks.
It's great if you're one of the many who are fine afterwards, but you should be prepared for the possibility you'll be among the unlucky 5-10% who end up with long-term chronic pain afterwards. Scrotal swellings, nerve damage, reduced libido and sensation, increased risk of prostate cancer, sperm granuloma (painful lumps in the scrotum), epididymal ruptures and autoimmune reactions (antibodies attacking your own sperm) are other possible complications.
Moreover, there is no cure for any of this, just management, ie painkillers or more surgery that could also make things worse.
Finally, while vasectomies are cheap and easily available, reversals are not.

Getting a vasectomy was the worst decision of my life. I lost my wife and my man hood. I did it a little over 16 years ago at age 27 and I noticed a big difference in the way ejaculation felt and my overall energy immediately afterwards. I lost all my testosterone and it feels weird and dulled in a uncomfortable way when I ejaculate. I can't explain the feeling. You would have to feel it yourself. The only time I feel normal is when I'm taking testosterone. Which I had to start doing at age 29 because my levels were so low. The wrong feeling I get with ejaculation has never went away and I'm now 43 years old. This happens to other men too. Look it up before you talk trash. Please, please look it up before getting one!

Hey John, I believe sex can still be great after the V, it can take months or even years. Then still, it takes practice to relearn control. (not as good control)
For me, the V killed the automatic sex drive trigger; once I do get aroused its game on.
I read something interesting nobody talks about. Sperm can be extracted out of a 2-day-old dead bull from the seminal vesicle glands, not the testicles. This begs the question, Is sperm supposed to be there for other reasons? Other functions? I believe the tubing holds pressure, the pressure is the sex drive trigger; when the tubes are not there the pressure obviously can not build the same way. Like the urge to pee for example. Also the energy exchanged between a man and woman is overlooked, the tubes are a physical path, a connection, . so if the path is cut that connection is severed.. (not the end of the world perhaps, (if we want to think wider) lucky for us, a connection can be wireless)..
V is not thoroughly understood at this time. I would not recommend it to men.
From the interview. 02:36 (notice his deep breath before answering the question regarding sex life after?) and also at the end "would you do it again?" his answer is objective, possibly the same answer he would have given before the V. Lacks emotion and excitement.

Why should women get a vasectomy instead of men? Easy, any child that a female has during her marriage is her husband’s responsibility / obligation. That’s right men, you are now responsible for supporting that child…and chances are if you find out it’s not yours, it’s all downhill from there… she will take your house, your paycheck (alimony/ child support), and your family (You will become a visitor to your kids). Be smart men, have her do the vasectomy.

But seriously though, my man’s getting his done cause I’ve already birthed 4 children, so he can get a little snip so I don’t have to be on birth control that messes with me, and don’t have to have a much more complicated surgery.
