Am I the only one who thinks that the ragdolls in Hitman 2016 were peak?? Like they felt so weighty and cinematic, but the new ones are so floppy and glitchy. Maybe it was an optimisation thing.
2016 is still my go to in the trilogy. I feel like it had so much more content despite fewer maps. I became addicted to hunting challenges and escalations. I feel like 2 and 3 removed much of the replayability despite the map quality and theme voriety going up. Also i miss when fire extinguishers were just reskins of propane or when just lockpicking a door didnt automatically open it, instantly revealing you to everyone.
i think the mixtape 47 being slowed down in later games isnt a bug but is actually an added detail of time passing or something, because with time tapes or more really tape players can slow down with time as their belts or batteries wear out
Still to this day I am amazed at the amount of backlash IOI received for removing the electric phone considering how much it fucked with the balancing of the game, every silent assassin strat during that era revolves around using the electric phone to kill at least 1 of the targets on the map
I remember using it to kill Tyson Williams to get SASO on Master in Haven, back when there were unique challenges for that. I _do_ think it improved some of the H2 missions to have what basically amounted to a "skip this target" function, but its effects on Contracts, Elusive Targets, and better missions with fewer targets were too serious to ignore.
I did my very first Silent Assassin Suit Only Master in Hitman 2016 when the phone was still in, and I used it to take out Sean Rose. I do not feel bad for doing so. That mission without the grass to hide in is insufferable, and it deserved to suffer the electric phone.
An interesting thing about bushes is that they were added to Hitman 2, so Colorado and the Cuban airport had no grass where you would now be able to hide. That, and the tornado shelter being mandatory, changed my SA/SO route for Colorado just a little bit.

Exactly 10 seconds after shoot the wire and she'll die in an accident. Then throw a coin in the higb grass to get Sean and Sean alone to go and investigate. Now you get to the greenhouse passing through the main camp route and next to the 2 guys going "sean rose in charge of operations?". The goal is to poison penelope's water. Use the sniper to shoot the generator as you crouch througb the grass and poison the water while the guard checks it out. Last, drop the sniper since penelope's guards will insta-spot you otherwise, and shoot the lawnmower outside the main house to prime Ezra berg. Now you wait right next to the bridge exit point. 8 minutes in, Berg dies and you can leave. I have a video of my run btw

A tiny little detail about frisking during season 1 is that it originally didn’t warn you about illegal items until a later update or patch (might have been the game of the year update) Let’s just say I’ve been caught with things on me a few times. The day 1 build and pre GOTY version was wild and included other cool stuff like the now removed hand to hand throw animations and audible footsteps before master mode was added during a time when there was only 1 difficulty. Oh and no long gun holster animations to place it on your back. They just teleported behind you lol.
We’ve been waiting for your return, absolutely loved the concept of this video. As someone who jumped from Hitman 2016 to Hitman 3, many of the differences were jarring. Over time, it seems I forgot literally all of the differences though.
In addition to Hitman (2016) being a bit different from the current version, there were a lot of changes made during 2017 & 2018 like the menus originally having a red color scheme but was changed to white...and I'm still upset we can't choose between the red, white & black color scheme for the menus as well as the music as H2016's was the best. It's been too long for me to remember other stuff but having patchnotes with big & small changes has always been a thing for the WoA Trilogy. It was actually pretty surprising how many changes were added in Hitman 2 when it released pretty soon after the last H2016 patch. Also you forgot to mention the Climbing Speed because it was made 2 or 3x faster in Hitman 3 specifically so Dubai wouldn't be a slog. Thankfully it was a global change and not exclusive to that level because it used to be a pain to climb around levels.
Thanks for informing me I hadn't lost my mind, since I was a player who bought the first season, and then the entire woA (including the first season again) later on , on ps4 in a bundle. These feature changes turn my brain inside out. That whole moving over achievements thing crushed me. Ill still never understand this game, yet I keep returning.

I got the steelbook version of the Hitman 2016 game for the playstation 4, and I played it like crazy -- to the point where I now experience a crazy mandela effect when I played Hitman 2 and Hitman 3, and even nowadays during Hitman WoA. Like instinct slowing movement, knocking out guards during frisks, and NPCs investigating cameras -- I was confused why this wasn't happening when I played the newer entries, but I dismissed it as simply being features I misremembered. Thank you for this incredible dive into the changes and the features gained/lost between Hitman 1 and WoA, absolutely brilliant!! On a side note-- since I *do* own Hitman 2016, I'd be more than happy to try and get footage for you for Hokkaido and Colorado! Let me know, I'll see if I can boot it up! I also noticed that some Hitman 1 items were exclusive to the game (e.g. the black winter suit) and 12 year old me had NO idea about any of that, so now looking back I'm just glad I was smart enough to link the same IOI account and Hitman data to carry over the items from 1 to 2, and eventually from 2 to 3 😅

Feels great to revisit some unique features of hitman 2016 compared to WoA now, though u have missed out one of the greatest tricks u can do in hitman 2016. The coin fetch trick where u can drop a coin in front of your target, quickly pick it up and toss it in the intended direction to lure that particular target to your desired location. Also any NPC 47 bumps that are not suspicious of him will get sus of 47 if u bump them continuously for a while unlike the newer games

I played through it just earlier this year and thought of the idea for that fact when I got extremely distracted by SSR artifacts during the mall explosion scene lmao. I think the game really needed some more time in the oven; it feels like its story is missing an entire second act, so it has to give massive plot twists (like what happened to Faith's sister) over phone calls. Now, because of the state it released in, it's not just missing that cut content, but also its pretty cool multiplayer and potential for a follow-up game or DLC.
This video was a nice trip down memory lane. The only thing I can remember being disappointed by between Hitman 1 and 2 was the sound fire extinguishers made when knocking someone out. I remember it being a lot heavier sounding with more reverb in Hitman 1, although at this point maybe that's just a false memory. Also, love The Finals. Don't think I'll be able to participate in the tournament due to time constraints but respect for hosting it.

I miss how the silverballers in 2016 had a slight zoom in and made the crosshairs tighter when you slowly squeezed the trigger on console. And it bothers me how they never bothered removing that icon saying it can do that in 2 and 3.
I think it doesn't actually affect accuracy, but you can definitely still squeeze the trigger (or hold the left bumper now!) to tighten the crosshair. I'm honestly not sure if it ever affected accuracy; guns in Absolution, which introduced the feature, always hit the exact centre of the screen AFAIK.
I'm fairly certain the concept 5 gunshot sound change is intended. While much cooler, the old sound didn't match the fire rate of the gun, and this was likely the easiest fix to that problem.
The mirror one, though it hasn’t baffled me for quite a while, can create some situations that are quite glitchy. Like in Haven Island where the mirror can force NPCs to see you through walls, or the mirror in the arcade closet in ChingQong, where they NPCs look up into a mirror above their roof. They really need to set a max distance for mirror viewing, one that is maybe 12-6 feet from the mirror. Maybe they fixed it already though, because as I’ve said, it hasn’t bothered me in quite some time.
On 6:20 running with instinct vs placing item: It may be possible platform-independently if you change sprint hold to sprint toggle in settings, so you don't need to keep the bumper pressed.

Was it a thing that you could destroy camera recording device or cameras itself in front of everyone by just throwing a fire extinguisher at it? It was really powerful and got nefed. But I'm not sure which particular game it was.
Hitman (2016) had alot of features that Absolution had since it used the same engine for instance, the instict would slow down time just as in Absolution which I didn't like and I personally liked how they removed it. In the Hitman (2016) Beta, you could take a human shield, but they removed that shortly after the beta. I wonder why they made such decisions like why can't you dual silverballers or why can't you take a human shield, taking a human shield could be useful when surrendering as instead of punching a person, taking them as human shield can allow you to dispose quickly of maybe another person standing near by. They could have expanded it where guards won't shoot you for a brief amount of time when holding a human shield and the player could take advantage of this by quickly disposing of the guard silently if the player had a silenced weapon
while there is no reinforcements that would make human shields useful to use against, i still wish you could take a civilian or guard as a human shield because it looks cool (IO pls add human shields, just because it makes it look cool even if it's pointless)

DeSantis has one on her person, and there's also one each in the observatory and wine cellar. If you play later maps, you can also get the disposable scrambler or remote EMP charge to hack the keycard locks.
That's a good guess, but a) I did that challenge when it came out, and b) it has the eyepatch suit, meaning I probably did this for F&F 11. My best guess is that while recording the fact about NPCs not seeing you place items, I brought two lethal syringes just because I thought it was funny. Evidently, it was, since that loadout's now been immortalised in a second F&F video.
Nope! The Ornamental has a green scope, gold round silencer with dimples, and a lot of filigree; the OG Viper looks more in line with the DTI series of guns from Hitman 3, though it's much shinier than those very dull weapons.
19:27 As much as i prefer the first game in 9/10 cases, ill admit its even hard for me to return to the pure white detection bar. I almost never bothered with peekaboo strats back in the day since i coulnt tell if i was too hidden or too exposed. When H2 added that it felt like a miracle.

Nope. 24:50, our inventories were not lighter, the electric phone was replaced with the ICA DTI Stealth, which is just a normal 9mm type pistol with its inaccuracies and all, but it has a silencer. I like it and actually use it quite a lot even if it is inferior. The description says it has a faster fire rate though, so I imagine the fire rate is a little bit more unlocked than the normal ICA19. That would mean with the semi-auto possibility you could fire faster, but I never see that making it better since the ICA19 can already fire extremely fast to begin with.

Hitman (2016) had alot of features that Absolution had since it used the same engine for instance, the instict would slow down time just as in Absolution which I didn't like and I personally liked how they removed it. In the Hitman (2016) Beta, you could take a human shield, but they removed that shortly after the beta. I wonder why they made such decisions like why can't you dual silverballers or why can't you take a human shield, taking a human shield could be useful when surrendering as instead of punching a person, taking them as human shield can allow you to dispose quickly of maybe another person standing near by. They could have expanded it where guards won't shoot you for a brief amount of time when holding a human shield and the player could take advantage of this by quickly disposing of the guard silently if the player had a silenced weapon
while there is no reinforcements that would make human shields useful to use against, i still wish you could take a civilian or guard as a human shield because it looks cool (IO pls add human shields, just because it makes it look cool even if it's pointless)

DeSantis has one on her person, and there's also one each in the observatory and wine cellar.
If you play later maps, you can also get the disposable scrambler or remote EMP charge to hack the keycard locks.

a) I did that challenge when it came out, and
b) it has the eyepatch suit, meaning I probably did this for F&F 11.
My best guess is that while recording the fact about NPCs not seeing you place items, I brought two lethal syringes just because I thought it was funny. Evidently, it was, since that loadout's now been immortalised in a second F&F video.

Nope! The Ornamental has a green scope, gold round silencer with dimples, and a lot of filigree; the OG Viper looks more in line with the DTI series of guns from Hitman 3, though it's much shinier than those very dull weapons.

Nope. 24:50, our inventories were not lighter, the electric phone was replaced with the ICA DTI Stealth, which is just a normal 9mm type pistol with its inaccuracies and all, but it has a silencer. I like it and actually use it quite a lot even if it is inferior.
The description says it has a faster fire rate though, so I imagine the fire rate is a little bit more unlocked than the normal ICA19. That would mean with the semi-auto possibility you could fire faster, but I never see that making it better since the ICA19 can already fire extremely fast to begin with.
