I was stationed in England in 1988 in the US Army. Much respect and comradery for the Guards. Heard them practicing did Amazing grace on pipes...my treasured memory. Cheers.

Absolutely wonderful, bless him and his parent. They are obvviousl closely involved with a Guard or Guards to stand where they were at the start of the vid.

You could well be right.
To me, it is even better than that.
At the end you can see He is with his two parents at the end and the father doesn’t appear to be dressed for the occasion. Even off duty, for something like that, we’d have been dressed more formally (it was expected of us).
I genuinely believe that he and his mother were invited in as they had made the effort.
We could do things like that👍🏼
If you notice carefully near the start, that one of the two Corporals that approach him, correctly Sloped Arms and gave him a ‘Butt Salute’ (correct terminology!) when he brings his right hand across and slaps the butt of the rifle. A nice touch!
This is how we saluted officers whilst carrying arms.

I joined the Army in 1988 because I saw a Bugler on Parade. Served proudly for 26 years.

I loved London so very much. I saw the change of the guards and loved it I wanted to stay there but was 19 and mom wanted me back in Canada so I missed my opportunity. But I am now retired and it’s one of the regrets I have. London is so neat and I loved it
It's obvious that this young man has been studying the Guards he already seen to know what he has to do when he has to do it's so gorgeous the attention the guards pay to him he shows respect and he receives it back in turn so wonderful to see ❤❤❤❤️

The corporal Butt saluted the commissioned officer as they approached him and halted and who returned their salute with his hand. His red sash as opposed to white belt denoting his commission. I couldn’t see his pips so unsure of his exact rank. They didn’t salute the little boy. Though I can see how it looks like that.

If you look very closely at 0:44 the chap (not the boys dad) in chinos and blue blazer shakes hands with an officer. Then at 2:14 the same chap bends down to explain to the little lad whats going on. I think I just spotted a "Rupert" in Mufti.

These beautiful horses are so tormented by the tourists trying to touch them ; Im sure the guards must feel like telling them to P..s Off . They on Duty after all.
To think that these are British soldiers who if had to would fight to save he's king and country once again. And its so sad that the overseas population who have come legally or illegally. Who with the facts out there have no respect for the British citizens or for the British army or the British flag or UK traditions and values. And what about the British people who are showing diversity towards others everyday but nothing is shown back. And to see this little boy is a blessing and looking hopefully to be a British soldier in years to come . It does surely bring tears to the public eyes bless him if he was my grandson I would be so proud because there is hope in a small way even though the UK is being fudged up. And let's hope he doesn't change his mind and still wanting to be one of the kings soldiers and protect against what is going to happen in the future when he's adult making it a better future for the next younger generation.

Going back to my day in the Army we were not really able to engage with the public because of the security threat. We were not allowed out in uniform or indicate that we were in the Armed Forces. So pleased that those days are gone.
I remember them days we'll hope to never too see them again 👍

Look closely at the drum major at the 1:50 mark. Once he passed the tree did he give a little nod to the lad?? If so, terrific!
Yes he does! Well spotted. And at about 2:20 in the background his father leans down and I presume tells him about the colours (flag) going past, and that the guards salute the colours. You can see the boy then salute. It’s quick and a bit blocked by the band, but it’s there.

Contrast the sweet little chap with the other guest, who thought that ripped jeans would be a respectful code of dress, at a parade; the men, there, were pretty ragged too :(
