    When the new RAV4 came out, I steered my wife towards it. She was thoroughly “meh” on the RAV4 but became enamoured with the UX sitting on the same showroom floor. To our surprise the UX was actually cheaper! The UX is small, but still plenty big enough for most things. The back seat really isn’t that bad, nor is the infotainment setup once you get used to it. Price-wise, the “sweet spot” is the base UX250h. Ignore the UX200, you want the hybrid with eAWD. Lexus also charges way too much for the “F-Sport” and “Luxury” packages for what you get, and the base model comes nicely equipped anyway.

      Too bad it's so slow (especially for a luxery brand) 😔 RAV4 hybrid significantly faster, roomier(usable back seat for adults), ground clearance, better fuel economy and has a spare tire.

      @@James-il3tq I test drove the UX250h three times and never found it slow or sluggish compared to the RAV4. It has plenty of pep to pull out onto the highway. It's not meant to be a fast, sporty car.

    • @einoperamaa5673
      @einoperamaa5673 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@James-il3tq The ux isn’t slow, it has all the performance you will need. It’s not a really fast car, but fast enough for normal driving. Also, the back seats are okay for 2 adults, I’m 190cm and fit in there fine. With 3 people it gets uncomfortable. The cargo space is small, but for me personally it’s enough 99% of the time.

    I have the 2019 version of this which is pretty much the same. 6’3” and it seats perfectly well for driving. Definitely not room in the back seat for people, but I bought it for mostly me and the wife at most, so 2 max. Sound: not really that noisy IMO, I also own a 2018 rx350 and find there not to be much difference. Drove it in recent snows just fine, but maybe just have not encountered ice. Given the elec motor powers the back wheels, I wonder if the full electric toggle would have powered the back wheels on that slip test? I have not seen the video though, so maybe he tried that. Sound can be toggled from the steering wheel or even with voice. It functions either of the ways. Great video!

    I don't know why so many reviewers criticize the space in this car. You want a full size SUV with huge cargo room? Go buy a full size SUV with more cargo room. You're a big person who feels cramped in a smaller vehicle? There are plenty of other options out there. I'm 5' tall. I've driven a Tiguan and we own a RAV4. I don't want or need another bigger car, just something that handles the road, snowy conditions and isn't a gas hog.

    I lucked out, I got a 2021 fully loaded with all the bells and whistles Lexus has to offer and a much larger display screen. I can open the trunk with my foot cause there's a sensor under the rear bumper. I also have that cool hologram in the windshield for the driver. Only 21k clicks on that bad boy, one owner with no collisions. $39k! Happily giving up my 2013 Kia Optima LX for this little rockstar; I'm a professional driver career wise so I can't afford to get speeding tickets anyway. It's just me and maybe a cat or dog in my near future lol. When I get married and have a baby they'll be cozy in my back seat. Can't wait to pick my baby Lexus up on Monday!

    Does it really have a Mark Levinson system? That isn't mentioned anywhere in any of the marketing material. I'm seriously considering getting one of these as my next car but for almost the same price I can get a Tesla Model 3 Long Range AWD. Ideally I would like my next car to be all electric but the Tesla build quality issues make me very nervous hence why I am also thinking about the UX. Which car do you think is a better buy the UX or the Model 3/Model Y?

    Finally, the best looking Lexus SUV of all time.
    It is way too small. It would be more ideal to have a new UX model with same shape, but in an RX series dimension.
    They need an F-sport version in a V8 or V10.
    Those battery versions are useless and will be outdated when the solid state batteries or a better technology hits the market.
    Plus, of-course, a manual gearbox with an E-clutch.

  • @socalguy97

    So what’s the consensus? Buy it? Lease it?Forget it? I’m considering this, but let me offer some context. I’m over 40, so I’m not the target audience for this vehicle. I’m not married; no children. But I travel quite a bit. I currently lease an RC 350 F Sport and love it, but gas mileage is horrible and so is cargo and passenger space. I live in Southern California so RWD is no problem, but I love to go skiing pretty regularly which has be driving in the snow now and again and my RC can’t handle that. I often have friends traveling with me along with luggage. I need AWD, and I need cargo space. I want a hybrid for a change, but I’m not interested in an RXh or an NXh. I’m wondering if this would be worth it for me? Or just stick with my usual lease of an RC or IS? Given my situation, anyone have any feedback? Anyone own this or have driven this want to chime in? Would this be considered a downgrade from what I have? The AWD is weak, I know, but does it have any benefit at all on snowy or icy roads? I’m conflicted.
