Just something "simple"... but with love for details... no hidden workshop tools, no magic craftmanship... but looks outstanding... less could be more!!! Sir Jason... congrats... well done!!! 👍
Thanks for all the creative refueling. I may (make that probably) will never do any woodworking, but creativity feeds creativity, and there is no one more creative than you! On behalf of those of us who spent too many hours in our gloriously mis-spent youth sitting far too close to banks of speakers at concerts, I implore you to protect your hearing. Onward and upward!
@@EpicUpCycling I agree :) since you have a lot of diffrent wood types and you can do anything from any wood, why not contacting StudPack channel th-cam.com/channels/jG94SagJZoyPggcBhUdFCA.html and going in league with them, they do alot of remodeling etc and they quite often have old wood to throw away. Maybe even you would go further and do some furniture for them and their clients? just an idea ^^
Having made many planters I think the only flaw is in the placement of the wood bottom. The planks will last longer if they were set on top of the support board, not hung from underneath. All the weight of the dirt, plants, and water will be on the nails, which will eventually pull out. If they were on the support boards the weight will be distributed better. Other than that, it looks great
My carpentry self really appreciates the quality of the work desplayed, my gardening self loves how the flowers and herbs will looks in it , and my bushcraft self is like; that is some excellent fire starter for my ferro rod. 💖 Such a lovely build. Thanks again for your great work.
Absolutely gorgeous. I like that weathering is artificially made and it already looks authentic as if it stood there for at least 20 years. And of course plants! Who doesn't like plants :)
That burnt "weathering" is to prevent rot and deter insects. It's a common practice in Asia and parts of Europe, I believe, but not necessarily here in the US.
Wow, what a piece! You pulled out the really warped wood, and I was already intrigued. The finish and finishing really elevate this. It’s beautiful without being overdone. Great job! 👍
Seriously Jason, you always ‘bring it’ even on small projects such as this. This is, as always, gorgeous. Shou sugi ban has become very popular here in the west but I can honestly say I’ve never seen a good example. You blow everyone out the water once again. I can’t believe how much I like this. Also thanks for helping to reclaim the word ‘rustic’! Far too often it’s used as a euphemism for rubbish (family friendly word choice...) Seems some think if a bench plane even touches a component then it’s suddenly fine furniture... I’ve seen a couple of makers refer to a mistake as ‘rustic’ in a tongue-in-cheek manner so hopefully the word spreads. I’m slightly surprised you have any warped wood. I think, in the back of my mind, I pictured you having a dedicated Wonka-esque area with steam all over the place, cylindrical kilns set up like chimneys going 24/7, a mini water mill set up on a wall etc. Seems wildly impractical but very visually appealing. Especially if you have a stack of warped timber on the left and a perfectly uniform stack on the right. That was a lot of waffle and that was the short version. Hope I’ve helped paint a picture anyway, haha. Hope you’re well and I can’t wait to see what you have for us next.
Another beautiful transformation of a pile of (in most peoples eyes) crap. My dad used to make stuff from junk and in all honesty it still looked like junk when he'd finished. How do yo constantly keep making such good looking usable items from someone else's detritus? It's extremely inspirational!
Love the haircut. ❤️ I miss your blue sweater though. I have a little crush on you and raggedy sweater. My husband and I drop everything to watch your videos when they come out. He even puts down his phone! Your work is simply stunning. 😍
And now that we cleared the area around the table saw, I know what I want to be my first project. Thanks for the idea! But I don't think I'll be doing the burning part... I think I'll just seal it. 😉
What a sturdy wee thing, love the wood burning, I'm trying that out myself at the moment it's great fun.. I took the whole video seriously until the pot noodle container came out😂never did I see you as a pot noodle man😂 I got a chuckle at that.. Thanks for sharing.
I tried burning wood like that one time. My neighbor was pissed when he found out his house was on fire. Seriously, nice simple planter. And free, you can't beat that!
While I know I'll never have the skill you have or be able to create such beautiful works of art like you, you truly inspire me to start tackling my project list and develop a wee bit of skill of my own. Thank you ❣❣❣
🙀🙈love the planter box looks fantastic 🤗🤗🤗 just a tip when reusing old nails I use a pair of plyers to hold the nail in the Center hole as it helps to keep the nail from bending too much 😹😹😹plus I got tired of hitting my fingers at times 😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹with all the pallets I have I think I will make me a pair for when we build our new decking in a few months 😊😊 Thank you for sharing 🤗🤗🤗

Wishing you well from Texas.👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
When I initially saw you pull out the boards with all the nails on them, I was hoping you'd show yourself pulling the nails out. My dad owned a house remodeling company. When I was younger I used to love to go through his scrap wood and hammer in nails just to take them out. I would spend HOURS doing this.
I made a pallet planter this week. But I did not save the nails 😐. I used Screws. Now full of mother in laws tongue. I have a special tool box with all the necessary 'Tools' I use just for pulling apart pallets. Kept up in my wood store ready for the next job.
Very good job. Looks totally awesome. Do you have any measurements for this project. I would love to build one for my mom. Which would probably turn into more. Thank you for sharing a great build. ❤

Most of us would slap this together and it would look like a cheap pine packing crate. Jason creates a furniture quality work of art 👍🍻
