We all dream of having bigger workshops, but this guy built this piece without moving more than three feet from his vice. It's pretty humbling and is an amazing standard that he's set.
Wood work was my favourite subject at middle school! I love these projects you do here ! I can’t do stuff like this anymore my last project was few years ago restored a singer treadle machine. Sadly can no longer do these things. I Wish you make me 3 for my god children.
You know, what you are actually doing is important not only to us followers of complex and interesting pieces of art and furniture. It is also important for generations to come in that you document and demonstrate old work prosesses and skills that often were lost after the industrial revolution. My father built boats, log cabins and houses and I learned so much from him, but you are on a level that very few artisans can match. Thank you for your sharing and teaching, Mr. Epic Upcycling. No one beside you, no one above. Summer greetings from Mette in Norway:)
Seeing him working with the wood so relaxed and patient you realize why when God decided to come down like a human and have a job like other people, before starting teaching for love and forgiveness, He chose the profession of a carpenter.
So it turns out there are parts of the internet people are literally unable to hate on because of how well done it is. I scrolled and scrolled didn't see a single negative comment
Showing once again why you are the best woodworking channel on TH-cam. No gimmicks, no annoying "jokes", no shortcuts. Just high quality craftsmanship. You should have 20x the amount of subs.

This friend of mine, he works with primitive and simple carpentry tools, but he produces luxurious, wonderful and authentic pieces of art. This gives us a clear indication that it is not important to have advanced equipment to produce professional work, but what is important is in the mind that works. I think this person practices his work with love and passion, thank you My friend, I am sending you greetings from my country, Saudi Arabia.❤️🌹
There is not one video of yours that doesn’t make my jaw drop. I took up woodworking during lockdown and am only tinkering really but I think I might have a go at this if you don’t mind, the failing and learning would be just amazing for the soul. You my friend are a master
This was absolutely intense. The care and thought of making something from scrap wood to a handcrafted heirloom was mesmerizing. Thank you, I was captivated all the way.
Very satisfying to watch you take your time for craftsman quality. It must really be rewarding to use your skills and ingenuity to create each work of art! The precision is beautiful.
That little hand drill brought back memories! I can hear my grandfather's voice ..stop pressing so hard, let the drill do the work silly girl! My childhood in a sentence ! Love that you've done another amazing job! You are a fantastic craftsman and I look forward to each and every project
I've always enjoyed it when you pass over the power tools and use hand tools. When I dine out, I always order something I couldn't cook at home. It's the same with TH-cam videos. I don't watch people do things that I could do, rather the things I only wish I could do. I get exited every time I see that you have uploaded a new video. Thank you for sharing these brilliant videos. 😎
This reminds me greatly of medieval chests, especially grain stores that were in every house and hovel. Though the lids weren't attached in that case, and fitted upside down on the chest to allow a clean place for bread making once you had ground your daily/weekly grain. Of course saws were luxuries and it was almost all done by hewing axe. Thank you for showing these techniques.
What an absolute pleasure watching you create this piece, I've thoroughly enjoyed the whole process. A wonderful gift to have at your finger tips. I just love the wooden chest. Regards Jan
Unearthing more treasured fine pieces of woodcrafting again. I like the different methods to construct and bring together the finished work as with all of them. I guess no biscuits in this one maybe some tins of beer.🍺
Quite a remarkable build, Eric. What impressed me most was the accurate drilling of the holes for the dowel pins. That is pretty hard to do, and done very well here.
Absolutely the best channel I’ve ever seen , the self evident love for wood is amazing he caresses every piece of timber individually and with passion ! Not to mention his skills are outstanding! I loved watching that, you've got mad skills. I wish I had the skill and the patience to do that. I hope whoever buys it off you appreciates the work involved.
Bringing back the good ol' days of how things were done before power tools! Real craftsmanship right there...I love woodworking and general tinkering, but don't have the space or budget for shop tools. It's not like I'm trying to mass produce, or on any time schedule to get a project done, and I rather enjoy the finer, by hand style of making something. It reconnects me to the past that way. Really dig your work.
Another amazing project completed. The way you work out how to achieve the end results you achieve boggles my simple mind. You are so skilled. I love how this little chest turned out. I can only imagine how long it took you to make it. Ingenious
This is incredible!!! I didn't even know it was possible to make all-wooden hinges and fastenings. As always, I'm incredibly impressed and have a ton of respect for your work. I really admire your commitment to using scrap and pallet wood. I hope you're having a lovely June and safe from wildfires, wherever you are! :)

And I loved watching this from start to the very end. Those nails are just amazingly well done. Awesome share. Thank you and congrats on your efforts.
I absolutely love it! Getting you shop made dowels ( so many) to fit so well is fantastic. Your coopering of the lid was great, but most of all, I was glad to see you left the squeak in. Give it a cool vibe.. Great work.
What a marvelous joinery job you have done. Small, 'simple', but truly unique. Such a joy to see that the old art of cabinet-making is still alive. Thank you so much for sharing your masterful craft with us. So much to learn from you. Your passion is inspiring. I hope you have a nice day. Cheers
All was great, although the wedges used to secure the hinge dowels were wedged the wrong direction. Wedges should always spread towards the end grain, not against the long grain.
Fantastic. Level of skill and experience here is phenomenal. Not many woodworkers on YT that can do this without electric machinery. Thank you for your video.

They said "you can't put a square peg through a round hole." He said "wanna bet!" Truly incredible craftsmanship!!
hahah, yes, just what I was thinking. bravo.
But you do drive a square peg into a round hole, the soft wood pegs in old oak building s is a good example
I’m not sure how I missed this. Man, it was a pleasure to watch you put your master skills to work on this beauty of a piece.
