  • I set myself a challenge to build a recycled, pallet wood chest using no nails, screws or glue, and all made using hand tools.
This was a very rewarding project to make.

You know, what you are actually doing is important not only to us followers of complex and interesting pieces of art and furniture. It is also important for generations to come in that you document and demonstrate old work prosesses and skills that often were lost after the industrial revolution. My father built boats, log cabins and houses and I learned so much from him, but you are on a level that very few artisans can match. Thank you for your sharing and teaching, Mr. Epic Upcycling. No one beside you, no one above. Summer greetings from Mette in Norway:)

Mack from MIDWEST MAGIC CLEANING mentioned your channel and I paused that video to take a look at your channel and watched this video. I don't think there isn't a pirate, including me, who wouldn't want this chest. Because of how you worked on this project (no power tools) I cast my mind back to 'those times' when these types of items were made like this. This is a wonderful video. Your style reminds me of THE NEW YORKSHIRE WORKSHOP (whose channel I love). I have given a thumbs up, subscribed, and I will watch your other videos.

I retired last year and decided to get into woodworking as a hobby. I need something to do with my hands all day. Now that I’m retired. The things I make seem to be in demand although I believe they are sloppily made. As I watch your videos I see what years of experience can bring. I’m sure your work brings top dollar. I’m not in it for money but selling a piece gets it out of the way for something new. I hope to return to this video in a year or two to see if I can make this half as well as you. My respects.

Bringing back the good ol' days of how things were done before power tools! Real craftsmanship right there...I love woodworking and general tinkering, but don't have the space or budget for shop tools. It's not like I'm trying to mass produce, or on any time schedule to get a project done, and I rather enjoy the finer, by hand style of making something. It reconnects me to the past that way. Really dig your work.
