Picked up a pair of these about a month ago, (after removing the pass side 'cap'.) Very good product. Really like the red ones, but since my HC is red, wanted to have a different color. (Too much of a good thing/color.) Got a set of yellow, to give the look of turn signals. Very happy with the outcome. Installation is a breeze, btw.
@@WorkPlayDrive They look great. The yellow (a great shade btw) really complements the red. Plus, installation was a snap. They clean up real easy too. Probably due to the powder coating.
Ordered mine on oct 2nd. They came in the mail on the 13th. They look really awesome! I was surprised at how quick I received them. I got mine in the kandy devils red. It’s a pretty good match to the red r/t badge on my scat pack. Another awesome mod courtesy of work play drive! 👍👍👍
I love the way they look and the are a great way to add a nice touch of color! I was going to get some but I had a change of plans and got something else that won’t allow me to use the rings.
Water gets under the hood from the hood edges by design, this is a big hole and I want to minimize the water and dust so I have less cleaning to do. I addressed this last week by installing a tube that collects the water and lets it drip out the maintenance pan while routing air into the engine bay. I'll have a video on this next week.
I drive through some pretty heavy rains on a rural Florida highway, I don't have any issues with water coming in the openings and causing any problems. I did close up the passenger side, but that was due to bugs and dirt griming up that side of the engine bay a bit too much. I have the Hellcat intake box+tube, and I kept a close eye on it after first putting it in. The amount of water I was seeing in there after heavy rains + 65 MPH was actually pretty minimal. I'm going on 2.5 years with that set up, 100 miles a day, 5 days a week, not a single problem.
Love the look of the product and was just about to place order, BUT not after I see that the aftermarket open filter (ie no air box) would be exposed to moisture. Certainly not anything that this product is doing wrong, but just anyone who has a similar setup better think this through. Again, great looking product for all others.
Sorry not sure what you mean by aftermarket open filter, would you mind explaining a little beeter? Nothing is exposed regarding the intake, my setup is similar to the shaker intake with the headlight inlet.
Work Play Drive I have an Airaid intake which is not contained within an air box, yet still not not easily exposed to moisture/rain. If you take out the center section from the headlight, it’s a direct open line to the exposed filter. Would take a decent amount of rain to cause hydro lock, but not worth the risk.
Good afternoon I have the 2023 Dodge Challenger RT shakedown edition are used the same damn tube that fits on the air breather on the driver side and I use the same concept as damn tube on the passenger side. Just turned it in Word.
Thank you. I daily the car so I'm driving in the rain a lot. For the driver side I have the intake tube setup and it's been open for 2 years without issue. The passenger side when open it just gave me more cleaning during my weekly engine bay wipe down so I put a tube to route the water down and out the maintenance pan. th-cam.com/video/tkCF1OnA6fs/w-d-xo.html

@@WorkPlayDrive I see. Thanks for the quick response. My car is a daily as well so winter is one thing I'm constantly worried about. Luckily, spring finally seems to be showing itself around here so I won't have to worry about it for some months. I'll have to think of something until then. I considered the tube like your video but I couldn't figure out where the water was being routed to.
The water just hits the sealed ABS unit, the washer fluid and the fender without the Spectre tube. with it just gathers in the tube and drips out the hole in the maintenance pan. You can also pull the parts and put the caps back in for the winter months.
I like them buddy!! They look great! Quick side question, have you had any clutch issues since the clutch delay valve delete? Specifically throw out bearing noise? Been about a thousand miles since mine getting a bit of noise when she's good and warm foot of the clutch in neutral.. don't think it's related just looking for your thoughts?
no worries ;) If I knew I'd share tho, everyone I know keeps pushing me to do it and saying they have had NO ISSUES, so I haven't heard anything so far.
Not in the areas I park my car and they are attached quite well. I would say it is possible but again I saw there were set screw holes in them so maybe you can lock them in place with those?
Can you tell us just how difficult it is to take these out? You mentioned the directions say to take them out for car washes, etc. so I was just curious how easy or hard it is to take 'em out. Thanks!
Can you just pull them out from the outside of the car or do you need to push them out at the same time from inside the engine bay area? Thanks, by the way, for the quick reply! Love your content!
I guess you are reducing the headlight inlet in some small way, but the car is providing more air via all it's channels than the engine can consume so it's not really an issue.
Not a small way....you can see it....Smaller diameter....Stock airbox will have issues. After market CAI will also have issues. Smaller intake(tube) will cause an issue period....most CAI requires tube removal. I get it, it looks cool, but performance will be an issue...
tundrahog what issues? The air box is usually sealed with no air tube.. now it has a additional opening plus tube and simply gets fresh air pulled into the box from outside the engine bay.. the engine literally runs a little cooler.. and breathes better.. that’s bad for the car?? You telling me ram air restricts a engine?
Also speaking towards what SquareLimit said, on the Scat this hole is sealed, I cut my arobox and sealed a tube to it directing the airflow to my filter. So now I have even more airflow than before only my more airflow is slightly less because of the ring ;)
tundrahog at best you are lucky to drop a tenth at the track with any CAI or HC intake on a 392 Challenger, so the performance or hp increase is pretty minimal. Reducing the interior diameter of the air inlet will have zero impact on such a minimal modification as a CAI on a 6.4. There will be NO issues with this or the DIPS tubes. I’ve had countless intakes and ram air type setups on multiple vettes, LS1 fbody, multiple SRT vehicles the past 22 yrs. Dodge vehicles don’t pick up hp like GM and ford do when it comes to a CAI. I have had no issues with DIPS screened tubes(which reduce tube diameter like those in the video) on my 16 scat pack the past 2 1/2 yrs.
You see I have a magic unicorn in my engine (that’s where my 🐎 power comes from) and I’m afraid he will get out thru that opening or something could get in thru that opening
Geeze, no offence... Why does the Demon(race gas) and the Redeye(same pump gas that I run) make more HP....yes different components, but air intake is one of the biggest factors. Demon and Redeye have different air intakes. Designed for more CFM.... Air intake makes a difference.
The 15 Scat pack headlight intake is closed off, I opened the port, installed the intake tube, even with the 1mm loss if space i'm still benefitting from an intake port that was not there from the factory.

Thank you, sorry I did not do the CDV delete on my car.
Work Play Drive oh shoot, ur right! Sorry bout that buddy, I was thinking of your skip shift eliminator vid...
no worries ;) If I knew I'd share tho, everyone I know keeps pushing me to do it and saying they have had NO ISSUES, so I haven't heard anything so far.
Work Play Drive thanks again buddy, keep on keeping on! The scatty looks sick and I can't wait to see what's up next!!
Hey WPD - Don’t forget about the added possible Challenger light bling - halo lights! th-cam.com/video/HEnSIxZVF3U/w-d-xo.html
Looking good 👌I just installed these ;) instagram.com/p/Bp57CwsFLlE/?igshid=19a43q6c26pn1
If you install these can you still see ur orange halo lights??!!
Yep they don’t block anything
Work Play Drive thanks!! ❤️👌🏻🔥
I'll buy a set once you have a coupon code available. This will fit the hellcat too, correct?
Any worries about someone being able to just pop them out and walk off with them when the car is unattended?
I was thinking the same thing but it would have to be another Mopar owner to even know they were there
Not in the areas I park my car and they are attached quite well. I would say it is possible but again I saw there were set screw holes in them so maybe you can lock them in place with those?
Can you tell us just how difficult it is to take these out? You mentioned the directions say to take them out for car washes, etc. so I was just curious how easy or hard it is to take 'em out. Thanks!
It requires a decent amount of pull to get them out, they won’t rattle or fall out.
Can you just pull them out from the outside of the car or do you need to push them out at the same time from inside the engine bay area? Thanks, by the way, for the quick reply! Love your content!
Thank you. You can pull them out from the front.
Perfect - I just ordered a pair. Thanks!
What color did you go with?
Bummer, they won't do custom colors. Love the look though!
They do Custom colors www.ecwid.com/store/merrickmotorsports/2015-2019-Challenger-Headlight-Intake-Rings-Custom-Color-Orders-Set-of-2-p106006156
Are you working out a discount code with Merrick?
Not at this time he’s got a free shipping code tho - SHOWUSURHEADLIGHTS
Reduced diameter...reduce CFM intake? Install CAI to increase intake then restrict the intake port.?. Just asking....
Reduce the CFM of your intake tube, smart one.
How is that an issue on a car that:
1. Didn’t have this as an intake from the factory
2. Has a giant shaker feeding the intake
Nice
Geeze, no offence... Why does the Demon(race gas) and the Redeye(same pump gas that I run) make more HP....yes different components, but air intake is one of the biggest factors. Demon and Redeye have different air intakes. Designed for more CFM.... Air intake makes a difference.
Do you mind measuring the OD of these pieces?
Im looking into 3d printing these but cant fit my caliper inside the duct hole.
Sorry, not interested in helping with copying a person's design.
Can people just walk up to the car and steal these off of it? Im interested in buying them, but i live in a sketchy area lol
Sadly yes you can slide these out with a few seconds of wiggling them. you may want to keep them in the trunk when not showing off the car.
Work Play Drive thanks for the advice! Just bought a pair. I’ll make sure to follow it.
Hide yo wallets peeps! 😬
Werd 🤟
i hate you can use the screen with them
That product reduces air volume. Just saying. Heck, your car, your choice.
The 15 Scat pack headlight intake is closed off, I opened the port, installed the intake tube, even with the 1mm loss if space i'm still benefitting from an intake port that was not there from the factory.
I stand corrected. Thanks.
Idk they dont do a damn thing.paint ur cap the color u want or just have nothing
Gray, black, and orange do not go together😂
of course they do...
