    This game is literally the prime example of finding the right demon for all the wrong reasons

    • @TheLastSane1
      @TheLastSane1 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Stuff like this is why I always get worried that people are just stream snipping. Because in those situations there is virtually nothing going toward the demon and just one player pieces together misinformation that does not work because none of it is sober, and still somehow get the demon.

    • @Ellie-rx3jt
      @Ellie-rx3jt ปีที่แล้ว +27

      @@TheLastSane1
      If they were stream sniping they'd probably put forward a world that included the actual information pointing to the demon. Or at least suggest a vortox could be in play. If there are six living players and you know you're good there's a 1 in 5 chance that any theory, regardless of how wrong, will point at the demon.

    • @TheLastSane1
      @TheLastSane1 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@Ellie-rx3jt Sure. I am just saying its these wild cases that make me nervous of it. Its such an oddity. Also Kat had already locked on Chris the day before at 6 alive. Especially when Chris is one of the least likely to be evil. The Choirboy was also looking particularly evil and yet the evil team is entirely called by the good team without really any evidence of Chris being the evil. Its that seemingly random call that makes it look weird.

    • @TheLastSane1
      @TheLastSane1 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@Ellie-rx3jt I will also point out. Kat had a Chief 0 and as you pointed out they did not think it was a Vortox game. So why did she peg all the evil team sitting together which would have been a 3. If she didn't think it was a Vortox why did she assume Chris, the least suspect person there (given the choirboy was looking mighty sus) had to be the demon.
      I am not saying they did stream snipe, but I swear a lot of the time they land these far out plays on literally no info and they are almost always right. Whenever the stream "Punts" they score virtually every time I have seen them do it.

    • @louisdesroches
      @louisdesroches ปีที่แล้ว +21

      Nobody is stream sniping. Every player here has impeccable integrity. Getting the right answer for the wrong reason just happens sometimes. Also, these players are *very* experienced players and can often read subtle clues, sometimes subconsciously. People might call them hunches or gut feelings, but they are often based on the experience of hundreds of games.

    Proof if it was needed why STs help out Evil so frequently. One tiny clue they got given, mixed up with a bunch of nonsense, won good the game which tbh, they didn't really deserve lol

    • @somecallmetim4490
      @somecallmetim4490 ปีที่แล้ว +25

      If lucky guesses from evil in the beginning made them deserving of the win, then good’s lucky guess at the end made them deserving as well.

    • @masondeross
      @masondeross 22 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @@somecallmetim4490 Your reasoning assumes symmetrical gameplay, which isn't true. Evil relies on spreading misinformation, coordinated actions, and always requires luck and ST support. Good can win while having no luck at all and no ST help, if they are well coordinated on sharing the information they have openly with each other and successfully read people and then turn that into logical worlds. So if good win by luck (not a core mechanic for good), then it isn't the same as evil winning by luck (a core mechanic for evil). You can argue about "earned" and "deserved" being applicable in describing either, but it doesn't follow that something being fair for one team means it must be fair for the other when their gameplay is fundamentally different. Getting a lucky win is a valid win for anyone in this game, but getting lucky is a bigger accomplishment for evil than it is for good; it is praiseworthy to say the evil team got very lucky, even though we all know luck isn't something you can control, while being almost an insult to say the good team won because they got lucky, because good can and wants to win through skillful world building. This is the nature of asymmetrical interactions; each side is facing distinctly different challenges, and the way they overcome them is equally different, so the degree of accomplishment matters on which team did what.
      All that being said, evil fucked themselves through poor choices; I won't point at any single decision or person, but their daytime play was starkly contrasted with their nighttime flow (they needed to talk more and be more forthcoming with important information, and take advantage being neighbors able to send messages to each other). It wasn't just luck that won this for good. I am only disagreeing with your logic, not your sentiment that good deserved to win.

    People say this was unfortunate but Chiz not outing to Emma where he was next to the people who can 100% confirm Emma was the evil goon ( he actually must have known it himself ) is what really made the game.
    The fact dead people can still vote means trust is more important than kills and that’s what I like in this game.

    Everyone was saying that the demon was found for 'all the wrong reasons' but I feel like Chris was found out from social vibes rather than mechanical deduction. All the cited information was disconnected from 'Chris must be the demon' so it doesn't make sense to me to attach them together, and there was a social aspect happening where Chris was seeming like a demon, in the ways that he was playing. Maybe I read this game wrong, but yeah that seemed to me what actually happened

    The choirboy wakes for no reason other than when a king dies, so the fact the choirboy has a night order number means the choirboy intentionally wakes after the godfather acts for just this scenario: to allow the evil team to coordinate a king kill without a choirboy gaining information. It didn't matter here, since Chiz didn't choose Clown, but this is one of the rare times I hard disagree with Ben and Ekin both on that ruling of the choirboy being instant. If it is meant to be instant, then the app needed updated (hopefully it has been by now, if so). The text also does not read that you instantly learn, and gives no other indication that it isn't an ability that acts on the choirboy's night order. I am genuinely surprised by Ben and Ekin both ruling otherwise.

      Emma didn't know her team until they publicly outed to her. Honestly this was probably evils biggest mistake this game. Not cluing Emma in despite having widow confirmation that she was the evil goon is a pretty big blunder. Especially when the entire evil team is in whisper distance.

  • @wuselfusel1
    @wuselfusel1 ปีที่แล้ว

    why doesnt a player get the info on widow change it says 1 good player learn that a widow is in game not that its the poisoned player?

      @BloodontheClocktower  ปีที่แล้ว

      Any chance you can time-stamp what you're referring to? It's been a very long time since this game was run. - Ben

    • @michaell6324
      @michaell6324 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      The widow ability has three parts (order is important)
      - See the grim
      - Choose a player to be poisoned
      - One good player knows there's a widow in play (chosen by the ST)
      When the widow chooses a poison target, the third (info) part hasn't happened yet. By poisoning themself (the widow), the widow essentially loses their ability (poison/drunk rules). Thus the part of their power, which informs the good player, doesn't happen.
      TLDR the "good info" is a part of the widow ability. If the widow is poisoned, they have no ability, thus no "good info" is given.

      Do you mean the app supported text whispers between your neighbors? This is to mimic the ability of players to lean over and whisper in their neighbor’s ear while seated in a real life game. It’s not anything like cheating.
