    I found the Langford Lapidary Shop by watching a Currently Rockhounding video. I live in CT & belong to 3 rock & gem clubs in the state. CT is a small state which has 7 rock,gem & mineral clubs.

    That was a great shop! And they can do xrf?That's amazing. It would definitely set them apart and there shop is already amazing. The saws there are so cool. He has just about everyone you will ever need! My goodness! And the rocks that he has on display are just incredible. He has a rhino jaw bone with teeth! Amazing! And just some really rare and beautiful kinds of rock to buy. Just keeping all that rough of rare rock types is incredibly expensive, but having a system where you know what you have and where it's located in your stock room, is mind blowing. And they are so friendly and so informed and could answer your questions and they were wonderful. And your interviewing questions got much better by asking open ended questions and then just shutting up and letting him fill the empty space with words. It was a great interview and I would love to go there some time. If I'm ever in that area. But wow! That was an awesome shop and I'm just a little jealous! Lol. Great interview and video! Thanks Jared.

    I love to hear the stories of how people started on the path and built their dream one element at a time. Every time I find an estate sale with lapidary gear it's already over. They seem to be the best place for deals, often with material for sale as well. I just need to find out where estate sales are advertised before it's too late to go.

    That is my died and went to heaven scenario!!!
    They have, and do, it all. His wife was first shy and nervous, but she is a powerhouse! I would love to meet them, but I'm down in OR. Someday, maybe when he has classes going. Thank you for this video. My only suggestion would be to let them finish answering a question or explanation. Your enthusiasm got the best of you I think😂. Still, as always, I enjoy your content and especially the field trips like this one. We have an "Ed's Rocks" in OR that's been here for many years. Not as big and set up as that one, but many contacts and great local materials with finished jewelry. Bless You!

      I think that an important part of videos like this is moving the interview along and sometimes that means pushing on to other topics, otherwise the videos would go on forever and I do need to push it along some.
      Ed's is on my bucket list.

  • @DreidMusicalX
    @DreidMusicalX ปีที่แล้ว +1

    If I don't see a price tag on something in a store, I see them as shysters. I'll probably look around a minute and leave. Just be open and honest and fair priced. If not, you will lose more money and also gain bad reputations that people will talk. I also think a huge problem with people is when they sell used things for the same price or even more for something brand new as if everything has value for being older. Its doesn't. Especially electronics that wear out and basically trash after 10 years if its all plastic or something with capacitors that all dry up. But you two have a very nice shop and seem down to earth.
