    One of my favorite pieces of quartz is from up on The N Umpqua. My cousin found it in 1957. I talked him out of it on a visit to Roseburg years ago. I live in Florida now. That piece of Oregon always makes me smile. Glad the snows of the PNW returned this winter.

    Nice long video 😁 perfect to watch as I get ready for the day. That section of beach you were scanning for bowenite was huge and looked like plenty more to be found there. Ok, gonna get back to it. I really need to get to making some playlists for my channel as you suggested. Seems like all I do is work anymore and don't have the energy for much else, plus freezing cold doesn't help. Still, I like to relax and enjoy some good quality videos like this. A good source of inspiration for rockhounding. I really like all your drone footage too. I'm hesitant to get one because I've never flown one and would flip out if I got one stuck in a tree or something, but really adds to the awesomeness of your videos.

    That was quite the video. Hahahaha. My favorite portion was the Worthington section. I liked it because of the scenery, because I was there hounding with ya, the quality of the material, and the footage was pretty good. Always a good job talking it up and keeping things interesting. Maybe just a smidge longer on some of the gifs, they pop up and fade out before I notice what some of them were or what I was supposed to be reading. Very minor suggestion. I think the Zinc Creek portion I've watched the most now after this video, I really enjoy that portion too. Hey man, you know I love all your content. Enjoyed watching that all the way through at normal speed. Rock on, buddy. 🤘😁

    Great finds! Would love to pick your brain on your cleaning process with AZ Agate. I feel like I might be too meticulous in my cleaning. Thinking the AZ hard water is hurting my finds in some way and only using RO water because of it. Which is a pain. Hoping I’m wrong. Cuz I’d love to use the tap water hose without any worry.
    Also wondering if you’ve ever had any issues with your agates drying leaving some white chalky stuff behind within the bands? I can never get them back to how they originally looked like when found
    (minus the dirt). Some do’s and do nots with your Agate cleaning would be so helpful! Love your vids. Thanks again 🤙🏻

    • @TheRogueRockhound
      @TheRogueRockhound  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use Iron Out when necessary and a tiny pressure washer called a textile gun.
      Iron Out will remove iron staining and some weaker minerals such as calcite (which could be the chalky buildup you've seen). You'll mix it with water and then let the rock sit in it until you determine its good.
      As for the textile gun, they are a rockhounds best friend. I have a vid where I use one if youre curious what they look like. Amazon sells em

    maybe the Jasper they were trying to get was going to be used for knapping into arrowheads or a knife and the problem you can run into with surface finds it can be damaged from the elements and exposure where the stuff buried or quarried is of better quality
