  • Looking for a perfect spot to park overnight in my van is a continuous search, and when I find one, it's like hitting the jackpot. I stumbled upon this hidden gem located next to a beautiful public park, and it's tucked away, making it an ideal spot to sleep overnight in my van. I'm sharing this location with fellow nomads, hoping that it stays a secret, and people respect the area so we can continue to enjoy it for years to come.

The park by Pechanga is not usually busy. It was nice to see my library where I use to tutor since moving to a red state. Old town Temecula is a nice to walk as well.

I'm going to try to make that black bean breakfast bowl. It sounds good & healthy. I live in Riverside, but I've never been to Old Town Temecula. I need to go. It seems to have a fun vibe. ☺️

Thank you for your videos about where you park. I watch other folks and they say, “Now I am heading to my spot for the evening.” But they never tell us where or how they found it. For people starting out, the “how?” Is a big concern. You are worthy, blessed and loved. Thank you!

I have found some good spots on ioverlander. It's saved me a few times. Have you ever stayed in carlsbad New mexico before? The whole town is trucks, vans, carcampers, tired travelers or anxious travelers from coming down those mountains 🤣. Or not looking forward to pulling trailers or driving their RV up and down steep grades. That app directed me to a place to park, what side of the building, and how my experience would be, and they were right on point. Noise canceling headphones worked great with earplugs on top of it 🤣

Hey Travel Snacks. Love your videos. You just have this great humble personality about yourself. I do have one question ⁉️ are you sure you don't park one place for the cameras at night. Then roll over to a hotel 🛏️ and sleep then come back in the morning to that same spot to show you waking up LOL 😂😂😂

I think you were parked pretty close to the end of that street, and I think if you'd gone much further down, closer to where those RVs were, it might not have been as loud. If you do put it into a rotation, I think you could try it much further down the street and I think you might have a better experience. There might be a good reason why all those RVs are there, because most people need their sleep.

She did mention the street sloped there which she tries to avoid. Campers and trailers can be leveled

Speaking of parking..... many Kwik Trip stores in Wisconsin have signs posted 30 minute parking limit. This means not really enough time to grab something to eat or probably not even have a cup of coffee! Used to spend a lot of time and money at one. In my area these places a poor place to go for any reason. Many reasons including illegal car stereos blasting ghetto music, illegal vehicle exhaust systems, many of their customers don't wash their hands after using the restroom and then go and handle food items without buying and touch the coffee machines and door handles, etc. Have had minor cases of food poisoning due to them being short staffed and in a hurry and leaving items that require refrigeration unrefrigerated for too long. Even the way they make coffee is unsanitary. I'm retired and operating a hobby for profit. Most of it is online and what isn't was within a couple miles of a Kwik Trip so I would often park there have coffee or eat. $300-500 per month is what I was spending. Few days ago they had the police tell me to leave stating my van had "been there all day" and was "there all day" the day before. That wasn't even true. I mainly parked in the same area as far away from the store as possible so I wasn't in anyone's way and also because I really don't want to be near most of their customers. That location isn't posted and a box truck sat there for months without moving. Two truck drivers that live nearby park their tractors there regularly sometimes for days and days. One of them never even buys anything. They don't have permission the store personnel don't even know who they are. How do I know? Because they asked me if I knew who they were because they were concerned about how long they were there. When I told them they live nearby and the trucks leave eventually that was apparently okay. Never had any problems with anyone at the store and they all knew my name and that I was a regular customer. If I didn't show up for a few days some would ask where I've been and a couple of them said they missed me. From what I have seen if you are a minority you can do pretty much whatever you want without being confronted but if you are an older Caucasian you won't get the same treatment in Wisconsin by retailers or law enforcement. They are apparently afraid of being accused of "discrimination". There is absolutely no other explanation. There are 2 sides to that coin. Have noticed similar issues with other retailers also. Just giving a heads up, SE Wisconsin is like this now with the larger corporate businesses.

After posting this I thought to add to it. At the location I was told to leave every school day morning there are a dozen school buses jamming up the larger than usual for a Kwik Trip parking lot. They are there primarily to kill time and use the bathrooms. They sit for an hour 7-8am. Then comes a local moving company's trucks. Half a dozen box trucks. For about an hour 6 days a week. 8-9am. There are many who go to this place and just sit, sometimes for hours, practically every day. Like one of the local cab companies. Just killing time waiting for something to do. At another larger nearby Kwik Trip I have seen as many as 30 Amazon delivery step vans and cargo vans at one time just take over the whole place. For an hour. Literally wrecking the bathrooms. Amazon changed something so that's in the past. Now it's half a dozen delivery trucks from a nearby appliance retailer. Box trucks parked all over and actually creating a hazard. Construction companies bringing mud with them right into the store. Bathroom stalls wrecked every day. You see it's a big club and everything is just dandy but not if you aren't in the club. "Government" "workers" in particular kill hours and hours at these places while "on the job" every week. "Labor shortage"? Sure. Once you take a good look at what's going on in this country you get a new prospective. "Vote" with your feet and don't do "business" with organizations that are part of the problem.

I once did the car life for 3 years, a decade ago, to save money. Not for the faint hearted or for most people.
Back then I had to co'ordinate a Safe Storage facility where all the clothes etc were stored. A good place to do the laundry on a weekly basis and a place to shower, shat and shave as I was a Depot team leader at a Freight company. Thankfully, the words of the Risen Lord Jesus Christ are true and comforting. "Seek, knock and ask.. And all will be given you."
A quality van with an internal self contained toilet is a good to have feature if the mobile life is to be a permanent choice.

I couldn't do that. My dog would be barking at random stuff, like he does now. We don't have any close neighbors where we are now, so he's ok. Something for me to think about.
