Thanks mate. Maybe have a go at using clear acrylic or enamel, might work quicker. This stuff takes ages to dry and really needs to be taped down, but if you're not in a hurry it'll be fine. 👍
Good tip, Mick! Might have to try it. But a bit of a hazzle if it takes so long to dry. Sometimes I have used normal glue, not sure what it is called in English, the type on a stick for paper. If it dries a bit it actually works. And the residue can be wiped away.
Thanks Mikael. Yeah it's a pain it takes so long. Oh yeah, I know the stuff you mean, it's in like a big lipstick tube. I think that would work great. I actually worked at a paint factory for a while and we used that type of glue to put paper stickers on paint drums. Good idea mate! 👍
Great stuff Mick, I need a B double tanker of that stuff the way I wreck decals. I'm starting on the Blitzer beetle tomorrow. Should be a fun little beast , wife ordered a Ztw beast combo 3450 kv. Hopefully they go ok , her Axial has a 6s ztw combo that goes well when the buggy doesn't fall apart. Thanks for the great tips again mate.
Thanks mate. I'm agreeing with a couple of the others guys here though, I think clear acrylic might be a quicker option. Oh yeah, the Blitzer Beetle will be fun, I've not heard anything bad about them. Should go great with that in it, will probably need a wheelie bar though! 👍
@@RCHobbyShed I'm going to copy your wheelie bar, they really need it. Can't wait to finish the beast. Don't think I can go higher than 15t pinion but it should go well.
@@petergoodwin2465 All good mate, go for it! It's much better than trashing the body. I'm sure it'll be fine with the 15t and brushless, she's gonna be a handful! 👍
No problemo! I think the softer type is the best of the two, the standard one didn't do much at all. Clear acrylic or enamel paint or a glue stick are other great options some of the guys have left in the comments, also worth checking out. 👍
Hey Mick! Great information, it was worth a try, and at least the one bottle was OK. I have a few cars with the decals lifting, it's a real pain! Gonna try the clear enamel trick and see if that works. All the best, mate! PS - Just noticed - 2K subs - well done, and well deserved, my friend! :))
Thanks Mark. Yeah, I figure it couldn't hurt to try. The acrylic or enamel idea sounds a lot quicker! Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the 2k milestone in the video! lol. Thanks mate! 🙂👍
Great then i dont need to buy thoose hehe, will try to find something else for old lifted decals, biggest problem is when you got sand and dust behind them. Congratulations on 2k subs :)
Haha yeah pretty much. The softener one is OK but I'd prefer if it was stickier and dried quicker, it did stick them down though. Yeah dirt behind them is a problem, and you kinda need to use solvents to get the dirt unstuck, then the sticker stuff is gone 😂, we can't win! I'll keep looking for a better solution but for now this will have to do for me. Thanks mate! 🙂👍
I always found it was really a problem these decals peeling off over time, but I'm going to buy the product you showed to make my two Tamiya, it seems to work well. Good vidéo .
Hey Bob! Thanks for subscribing mate. Ah cool, Mark is a great buddy of mine from across the drink. Hope you don't get too bored watching my videos 😂. Welcome aboard mate! 👍
I've not tried Mark Fit, might be worth a look. Since making this video I have heard other ideas such as using clear lacquer, which a great idea as lacquer dries quick. Have a Happy New Year!
It works so that’s good , but it’s weird how it takes so long to dry . Most of Tamiya’s products dry really quick . And that definitely one you would want to dry quickly. I have the same exact problem on my Fox . Great video Mick .
Yeah it works, (just) OK I think. It's not really meant for these types of decals, it's meant for the water slide type. So I guess that's why it's not so quick, although it does actually evaporate quite quickly. I think all that's happening here is the softener type is softening the original decal glue a little bit. Some other guys have suggested using clear acrylic or enamel paint and also a glue stick, all great options. Oh yeah, the Fox is bumper stickers peeling is pretty common. Thanks Eric! 👍
Hi Robert. I've not actually used this directly on any paint that I can remember. Most of the ones I did were on Polycarbonate bodies. This stuff is really meant for the water slide decals used on static models, so I would think it's ok to be used on paint, but I'm only guessing always best to try a small spot first. Since making this video I've also found that using clear acrylic paint might even be a better option. Although it does stick decals down on a flat surface, it's not really strong enough if the decal is applied to a curved surface. Hope this helps!
Onya Mick, thanks for presenting the info.
I've successfully used clear acrylic or enamel to stick vinyl decal edges down, certainly dries quicker!
Thanks Davey. Great idea, clear will work a treat. The drying time isn't very good here, acrylic would be great for drying time! 👍
can i use it on water decal?
Great video I’ll be getting a bottle of that on order 😊👊🏻
Thanks Glenn. Don't rush out and buy it today, some of the other guys in the comments have some great and probably better ideas than this stuff. 👍
Awesome tip Mick I need to invest in some of that myself, Thanks for sharing that with us.

Thanks for this video. I have several Tamiya shelf queens, and some decals look like they're about to lift.

Really useful, I have some decal softener and was unsure how to use it after trying it once. I’ll use your tape down method 👍

Can this adhesive be used on car decals without damaging the paintwork?

Can this be use on 3d light decal.i have the same problem.on the curve decal keep peeling.will it dry and transparence or they will leave a mark😢😢
Great video 👍 r u getting younger? Must be the haircut?
Thanks Peter! Haha yeah I hacked off some greys. I better be careful though, if I take too much off I'll need to learn the alphabet again. 😂
dude you look so different ,young fella
Thanks Lee. If only I could feel younger! 😂
thanks
I think that the reason this is not working well is because this adhesive is meant for water decals, not RC decals.
