Bought a new '86 750 in 1986 in Hampton, New Hampshire. Dave Sadowski was a mechanic at the shop and got the bike ready for pick up. He was a real nice guy and fantastic rider. Knew him several years. All these racers were excellent to learn from. Talented.
I love the oil cooled era Suzukis. Still ride '91 750 with 1340cc at the track and a '91 1100 on street. Katana 600, before the redesign fairings, look fantastic
It's really fun seeing the 600 katana's being raced like that since I do the same with my 750 katana. I get plenty of looks and comments saying it's nice seeing an older heavier bike keeping up with the faster groups. 6:40
Here in NZ (and Aussie) production racing, and production endurance racing, was really big in the 70s and 80s, so big that Suzuki HQ built a special version of the Katana (The real one, not the sticker on a GSX600) to beat the Honda CB1100R, which was looking to dominate proddy racing. The E27-spec GSX1100SXZ "Wire-Wheeler" was fitted with light weight wire wheels, upgraded carbs, brakes, clutch, exhaust, Yoshimura Cams, because they had to be raced stock. Then things started to get expensive for the average racer to compete, new rules and regs pushed the cost of racing bikes through the roof, different classes disappeared.
Qué pasó con esa pista llena de barro esas gsxr 1100 eran unos aviones super ligeras muy manejables y ese motorsote la catapultaba de 7000 revoluciones a 10500 que no había moto que le pegará en esos años por algo era hiperbikes
Hello Sir. This video brings back a lot of memories of those years. I was a club racer at the time and worked as an official in the southeast. If you are still monitoring this channel I have a offer for someone wanting to look thru some old vhs tapes. My father who is passed away a fee years taped many years of AMA and grand prix races which aired in the US. I am looking for a new owner for these tapes or I will need to trash them. Thank you
I was in the 750 race so much fun and Road Atlanta track is really fast going down the back straightaway into the big dip! Miss my 88 GSXR750

Gsxr 750 model 89. Uno spettacolo di moto che fa paura ancora oggi. Altro che vecchietta...
Look at the full grids and close racing. The current racing can’t even hold a candle to this

That sounds pretty cool. I raced with the AFM. How many tapes are there?
@@worldoftone I have not counted the tapes as there are many, maybe 30 to 40
@@64Hurricane OK, well message me and maybe we can work something out for them. I'd hate to see them thrown out.
