Impressive. An essentially brand new technology erected next to a historic building, that's pretty cool.
Never really thought about it, but you have a good point there. 73 de ON7FD
Great video and nice set up , building a crank up tilt over mast at the moment .My wife would be lowering that down all the time to hang the washing on .
Game changer! I stumbled across the video totally by accident and it may very well be my tower solution for my current hardware setup. I am using an existing 20' long 3" diameter SCH10 pipe as my "tower"...the previous home owner had an outdoor light affixed to it when I moved in. I want the ability to tilt and lay my mast and antenna down during bad weather (hurricanes here in Florida). I would love to know more of how you designed and built the tilt-over structure and incorporated the manual winch! I just purchased a Hexbeam from NA4RR and it's still in the box waiting for DX Engineering to deliver my back-ordered Yaesu rotor. Many thanks for posting this video! K9MC located in Florida!
Hi Michael, Nice that you like the video, thank you for this! If you want I e-mail you some detailed pictures of the tower structure. Let me know. 73, ON7FD
@@on7fd Yes please! My email address is good on QRZ (K9MC)
Fantastic choice / combination
Hi Filip - SP6 build just completed - looking forward to getting her into the air this weekend - your videos have been a great inspiration 73 Gerry EI6IYB
Hello Gerry, Thank you for your kind message. I am convinced that you will have a lot of fun with your Hex. 73, Filip ON7FD
@@on7fd Thanks Filip .. Look forward to catching you on freq’ … Little bit of tidying up yet to do .. 17m is quite “slack” 🤞
Absolutely breathtaking! love this setup, bravo! 73 from M7PWJ
Outstanding job! Congratulations! I particularly like how you documented all the items, very helpful. DE N1ZSC
cool project. I like your tower. Well done.
excellent video! congratulation for you tower and beam!
Very nice! Tnx for sharing.
a tip for future , put spacers under the rotor so its not sat on the cage, ice gathers there and can crack the bottom of the rotor.
Great tip! not thought of, I will certainly adjust at the next maintenance. Fortunately no too harsh winters over here. 73
@@on7fd yep seems to work . also in a real cold winter wrap a hessian sack round the motor , stop it from getting stuck.
Very nice Filip ! I can only dream of such a location and antenna.....enjoy and many DX ! 73 de ON4CDJ
Hi Patrick, love to work you sometime!! 73 de ON7FD
great congratulation beautiful job! Waldi sp7idx
Thanks, great product to ;-)
Nice setup
Most enjoyable video. I'm toying with the idea of adding a Hexbeam from SP7IDX. Like yourself, I have a Fritzel FD-4 and the Davis Vantage Pro 2 hi hi. But maybe I should just stay with my Force 12 C-4S. Height limit here is 10 m. 73 de VK2FALF
Hi, 10 m is ideal for a Hexbeam. To do! you certainly won't regret it. very good antenna with little wind load. 73.
@@on7fd Thanks Filip - I will keep it in the long term plan then.
I forgot to mention I loved seeing your Border Collie 'dashing about' in the video...we breed them here (see our website).

We love our Border Collies, the oldest is now 18 years old! 73.
Loved this. well done. 73 M0XMX
Great homebrew solution. 73's de ON8EI
My installation is very similar. However I use the hex beam tilt plate. I highly recommend it.
indeed the Tilt-plate I know, doubted if it was strong enough. 73.
Smart idea using a lamp post for your tower mast. 73 K9WWW
Has been serving well for many years. 73’s
Great job bravo! What size was the plinth in cement deep & wide to hold the mast?
Hi, about 2 meters (6.5 feet) depth by 1.5 meters (4.9 feet) wide. 73’s de ON7FD
Its a beauty. 73 WA4QGA
Saw your impressive collection on your qrz.com page! wow !
Nice looking setup. How do you like the HexBeam?
The best I have had so far!
Nice
Hi Filip. Can you share some details about the mast? Some reference to the producer? Is it a home brewed one? Thanks a lot.
73, Pavol
It is a home brewed one from an old lamp post. it has served as my mast since 2003. Height is 10m (32ft.) and is fully galvanized. Feel free to send me an e-mail and I will send you some detailed photos. 73, Filip

Great Job. what was the aircraft that passed by at 2:50 in your video. It sure was moving VERY fast?
:-)
How many bands does it cover?

I have just purchased a HexBeam. I know that it is not resonant on 40 meters but have you tried to work on 40 meters with it using a tuner? Interested to know. I know that there is an add-on for it for 40 meters but i'm not interested in this as the antenna is already pretty big.
I have indeed tried the Hexbeam at 40 m, provided tuning, and that works.
However I wouldn't recommend it. Better is either to use the 40m add-on or as I do use a simple wire antenna like FRITSEL FD4 for 40m.
Interesting question Paul …. Just wondering if you’ve tried to track down a “genuine” Fritzel fd-4 ?
@@tixilx I haven't tracked one down. I'm finally getting around to installing the hex beam, but would love to be able to operate 40 meters and 80 meters properly also. By time I finish work, it's almost night time and 20 to 10 meters is closing down:)
@@pmull252 Hi Paul … Tnx for the reply … Good luck with the Hex - My next project as soon as I can decide who to order from (Joke) .. I’m getting excellent results on 40 / 80 with my Homebrew 80M EFHW - Inverted V …Apex @ 20’

Kudos to the wife for literally lending support but ain't it "just like a woman" to skip the actual raising?! (Is what a very insensitive, sexist person might say.)
