These Eigers are known to run super lean from the factory. Deceleration popping ,needing choke to be on to run right,etc. Got it sorted out and its great.

That’s good you got it going. I have the same problem. I have taken it apart once already. Looks like I may have to take it apart again. Think I have an idle. Metering jet that is clogged. How many turns out did you go on yours ? The first time I cleaned it, I started out with 2 turns for a starting point.

Cant understand why you guys always have an issue with space to get a carb out of these machines !! Take the airbox out and you’ll have all the space you need to extract the carb, it takes 5 mins to remove yet you struggle for untold minutes trying to take it out through limited space in the frame, it’s just logic that’s missing!! 👍

how many turns did you do for the pilot jet? Ive looked around and only found that common practice is to fully seat the jet then back it out 2.5 turns. I did that and also tried 3 turns before stopping for the night. Wondering if you remember how many turns

I have a 1999 Yamaha 250 and I think I have the same problem as you I have a fouled out spark plug and mine Does not stay running got it for 300 going to buy a carburetor and spark plug hoping that fixes it
What jets do you have in your carb ad how many turns did you end up with your pilot

May be commenting a little late but what does a lean plug look like and sound
the head of the spark plug will look white/light brown
I have the same ATV and my is doing the same thing . I’ve cleaned the gas tank an but a new pitcock in an when I give it gas it shuts off . So it’s probably the carb huh ?
Or vacuum lines have a leak allowing air in
I'm now dealing with same issue but only when set to the on position. New petcock. WTF 😒 cleaned carb also.
Is it the jet screw thats in front of the throttle valve
Hey. I was wondering if you did a video on how to take it out and apart. I have the same model and today when I went to start it, it ran for a bit but as soon as I came to a complete stop it died and wouldnt start back up. Still wont start. I just dont know how to fix it and I cant find videos on these models. I definitely noticed it was running rich and the float would get stuck open. At least thats what seems to be happening because it keeps flooding itself
Hi I have a attic cat four wheeler and I primed it anxiously to much and forgot that I already had it running that day so it wouldn’t even turn over and I looked at the spark plug replaced it it was to rich but my new one hasn’t worked either any suggestions

So is that the reason why it would over heat the fan on my atv 450 Yamaha I t’s not working so I’m guessing I have to change carburetor before I change the fan ?

I have a 2003 Yamaha Kodiak. Float got stuck, I freed up & now it's running rich after not using for a bit. I'm widowed & need to fix it. What can you do to help me???
May the carburetor jets need to be adjusted

Any ideas why my kawi prairie 700 is lean I used one of those rebuild kits off amazon which did not show sizes I got the dyno jet kit all was well with the base jets they suggested but when full throttle I pop and shoot sparks from exhaust which was my issue before it seems to idle and low to mid range be fine but full throttle it sputters and pops flames not smoke not sure what else is causing it to run lean because the other components are all good maybe need to fatten jets more ? Idk I’m new to atvs and little motors
Spark arrestor needs to be cleaned I think. Honestly never pulled 1 but that's sounding like what needs to be done though

So I have changed the fuel petcock taken the carb apart and cleaned it I am trying to get my dad's eigar going and am having no luck at all. I bought the carb rebuild kit changed all the Jets. It used to fire up and only idle when I pressed the throttle. Now it won't start at all. The rubber diaphram in carb is fine. I don't know what else to try I have spark. Any thoughts?

Haha it's a great idea but I have a connection to this one. It's a 2004. We've had it almost 3 years. Bad streak of luck, but its giving me content and ulcers lol😊😊

One issue with these carbs is the choke plunger wears and leaves it rich with choke totally off. Horse shit to work on anything without stripping the whole machine last atv I buy stick to dirt bikes.
How many turns on the adjustment for the carb to help it not run rich Just got a 2004 articat 400 Only 200 miles been stored in climate controlled garage Carb seems to be clean but won't go over 20If I take the airbox off it runs full power
I believe it is 1 -1/4 turns
I have the same exact bike and its making that popping noise when I get up to 30mph you think its the carb.....needs to be cleaned
Sounds like the carburetor. It could be running too rich
When you say it was making a popping sound, do you mean like an air bubble popping or backfire popping? I have an automatic and when I let off the gas it makes a hard air bubble pop noise......any idea why?
