We've been very happy with this Suzuki ATV....this is the only money we've spent in repairs since 2008! We did the same tune-up to our 22 year old mower in this video: th-cam.com/video/hQJAQRXq8EA/w-d-xo.html Products in our Amazon store used in this video (costs nothing extra to use these links!). You don't have to buy these specific items to support our channel....just use a link below to get to Amazon then make any purchase: Suzuki Eiger 400 carb (not OEM): amzn.to/3zlbXHd Suzuki Eiger 400 air filter (not OEM): amzn.to/3oFMqDJ Orange rubber gloves: amzn.to/3xIdlEt Columbia PFG Fishing Shirt SPF 50: amzn.to/3n1fIMd Levi Cargo Pants: amzn.to/3xnJz6q Mechanix Leather Gloves: amzn.to/3HjoZZf Rode Wireless GO II microphones: amzn.to/3trABE3 Ubeesize Camera Tripod: amzn.to/3xl6uiN
This is very helpful and clear, I have this model too, will bookmark this to my favourites for reference. The only thing I notice being different is the petcock. I'm fairly confident the carburettor is functioning on my machine but it's currently suffering a "won't idle" problem. Another Suzuki Eiger owner on here has provided a potential solution, i.e. replace petcock. Btw yes, that 1 airbox screw behind the body is a bugger to secure/undo! Thanks for uploading this 👍
Enjoyed the video! Trying figure out plug fouling. Not sure if I need to adjust air fuel mixture, replace the carb, run higher octane fuel…. Not sure but the video did help build confidence if I need to replace the carb! 👊
I don't see them on eBay anymore either, but here is the information when I ordered: SUZUKI EIGER 400 AUTO RIGHT & LEFT PLASTIC FOOTWELLS, FLOOR BOARDS, FOOT REST Total: $145.47 Item ID: 402802398322 Seller: acjracing
got the exact ATV...replace your fuel tank petcock with unit off Yamaha 600 raptor, those will fail all at once causing massive fuel leak. Yamaha direct replacement no problem. I love my eiger
Be careful using Mobile 1 engine oil, unless it’s wet clutch certified. Mobile 1 contains molybdenum which is a friction modifier and it will ruin the internal wet clutch in that engine. The wet clutch it what keeps the drive belt engaged on that model. I have replaced a lot of burned up clutches on those Suzuki engines because of the wrong oil.

Mine is a 2003, 20 years old, and still starts and runs like a top. Would buy another without hesitation.
They are tough. Ours is 2006....runs great with the new carb.
I just picked a 2004 up from out of town, and had a couple rides, needs a little tune up and these videos are super helpful!
Slow and steady wins the repair. Job well done. Also thanks for supporting vets, I noticed the Black Rifle shirt
Runs so good now! Yes, Black Rifle is a good company. Piney Grove is veteran owned as well! 😉Thanks for watching. Brad&Deb
@@PineyGroveHomestead awesome. Thank y'all.

The petcock is a common problem, but ours still runs great. Ran it hard yesterday spreading fertilizer!
Just like you’ve done it before! I spotted that atv sitting in your shop. It’s sharp! Sure is in much better shape than ours. 😂
They are so handy and this ATV has been a workhorse for Piney Grove and our leased land. She was due for a tune-up!

It was a little tight, but I got it in. We used that machine this weekend.....runs great!
You should add a nice lining of grease around the lip of the air filter to seal it and ensure no dust bypass. Crazy you worked it with no air filter.
We don't use it that much, but it's running much better now!
I pray that you check your Fuses
Where did you figure ms the cowlings
Where did we buy the cowlings? We bought them on eBay. Thanks for watching.
@PineyGroveHomestead have been searching on ebay can not find Cowlings. Can you send seller info/link?
Thanks for the informative video! Could you share a link for the cowling? Thanks!
We got it off ebay but last I checked, it wasn't available.
What line did you forget about at the end?
There's a vacuum line that goes to the fuel petcock that makes it open to allow fuel to get to the carb. Without vacuum, no fuel will flow.
What did the carb cost you?
I think it was $400 or maybe even more...it was ridiculous, but it runs flawlessly now.
Looks like same one I got from Amazon for 40 bucks honestly mine runs perfect to lol
Is it the flywheel magnets.
How did you get fix?
I'm not sure what you are referring to? The bike is fixed by the end of the video.
How the heck could you run that Suzuki basically without an air filter? That's basic preventive maintenance. Wow!!!
It was due for a new one!
You said you got the cowling on eBay, are they new aftermarket or used. I can’t find those silly things anywhere, both mine are blown apart?

What about the wiring that goes on the battery? I can't figure out a tutorial to fix it at all It has not wires going through there
I've only changed the battery once...red to red, black to black...otherwise I haven't had to deal with electrical on this machine.
How do I get the air filter box
remove it, or replace the element?

I've heard of that with the petcock. Ours hasn't failed yet, but when it does, it won't be at a convenient time, I'm sure!
what year is
2006

That's good information, but this ATV has been running hard and towing for 2 years and hasn't had an issue.
