During Covid, I lost track of someone I knew and often saw walking through our neighbourhood where we often stopped for a chat. Having not seen him for awhile, I e-mailed him to see how things were going. His partner emailed back to tell me Malcolm had passed away after discovering he had an aggressive form of brain cancer. Malcolm was such an upbeat person, always positive and I was so sad to receive this news. His partner suggested I go sit on the bench Malcolm had dedicated to his life on this earth, I told him I would go visit the bench. I smiled when I saw the plaque on the bench. It read “I had a great life, goodbye” This was Malcolm in a single sentence, grateful for the life he lived. Thank you Nicole for embracing and accepting all life has to give, both the good and the bad. You inspire me.

Nicole, what great news...it's not cancer and it can possibly get fixed or at least improve! The pain we have is so frightening, but when they find something that can be improved upon, it's absolutely wonderful!! Great news about your discs! It feels crazy to say that but in this case it is the lesser of two evils. PT really helped my disc issues when I couldn’t stand upright screaming in pain. Happy to hear your outside area is cozy and set up for you to read your new book. Your wife is such a gem. Hopefully you were able to get some yummy ice cream. Happy Pride! ✨🌈☮️💟🦄🌈✨

You really are fortunate that you have a chosen family that is there when needed. I know of people who had no family and friends, and they had no choice but to die alone. I'm in the same predicament and it's no fun.

It's good that a reason for back/leg pain has been identified at last. Getting out on micro adventures and enjoying these experiences whilst you can is vital.
Your leg will gradually recover strength with PT if you can somehow get the pain control right to work the muscles.
I don't think there's a limit to how much sugary treats you can have. Go for a huge dose every day !
I'm so happy for you! Admittedly, you probably unintentionally leave me no choice but to feel this way as your enthusiasm is so contagious. I hope the ice cream tasted even better than anticipated. May everything come together for you in such a way as to keep your excitement level running high.🌟☯️🤗💜

That is awesome! I hope they can find a fix for your leg. Also why would you be coming to an end? You seem to be doing very good. You have the pill stopping the cancer, and are getting by. (: I hope you continue to get by. Maybe soon walk again too? Hopefully! My dad also has the bulging discs, it's not doing too much right now besides pain. Not good though!
Best thing to do is always get out, and do what you want. Explore new things! 🙂

I said I thought it was lumbar spine nerve compression because, hello...I'm the queen of lumbar spine nerve compression. And I'm thrilled it turned out to be this because the stimulator is going to be potentially life-altering in regards to your pain levels.
I haven't written much recently because my health really took a turn and I'm just now starting to breathe again. Remember that expensive drug I fought so hard to get approval for? $7000 a month! Well, my immune system laughed at it and doubled down on its assault of my spine, hips and SI joints.
You know that sharp pain you get that stabs you so shockingly that you can't breathe or even move a muscle, because if you do, that breath-stealing pain is going to keep doing its thing? We're talking a serious 8+ on the pain scale, right? I know you know. I get to experience this phenomenon several times a day now.
I'm on a new, very expensive injectable med but this may be damage that can the undone. But I'm doing all the things and will be soaking in a hot tub a couple times a week starting Tuesday. So, yeah, Me!
Anyway, so happy to see your smile and bright eyes. It's summer, Nicole. SUMMER. And here you are. I'm not Rainbow Warrior stomping but I'm sending you and Gabby a ton of love and support.
