Happy New Year to you also my Aussie friend, @PeteJohnsMusic keep up your outstanding and uplifting work and videos 👍👏🙏🙏🎼🎤👍☝🇦🇺🇦🇺🎅🏻🎅🏻
this definitely helped me because some of the things bandlab could do i didn’t even kno and i’m trying to become better at audio and background adlives for my song
Hello there, and thanks for this video! Today I installed the BandLab app on my Galaxy Tab A7 (Android) and connected a MIDI keyboard via USB-B to USB-C cable. I hear the notes playing. My question is, how to display more than just 2 OCTAVES on the on-screen keyboard? 3-4 Octaves total would be awesome...would appreciate that very much! Thanks!
I don’t believe this is adjustable in BandLab sorry. You might need to consider an external MIDI keyboard. th-cam.com/video/N1gHwJlap2s/w-d-xo.html&feature=shares
Thank you so much for the tutorial Pete! I just downloaded the app and this is my first time ever creating music and this video has really helped. Question though. Like the piano and drum, is there way how I can use the guitar where I am hitting a strum pattern fast?
Hey there. Not 100% sure what you’re asking sorry. Check out my other. Ideas here that might help. th-cam.com/play/PLc8Xg_23Wa56jGYADzGja3mHOpX1t6zbR.html&si=-9fPCKfX57rY1VkQ
Excellent tutorial. Can the loops, one shots, etc be downloaded on to a sd card, or does it have to go straight into the devices hard drive? Referencing Android S10 phone.
Pete, great stuff as always... Can a SMF file done in Cakewalk/Bandlab on Computer, be imported to this App on Ipad and then continue working? Thanks, David
That’s a great question David? Not something I’m familiar with. I would think not, as there’s only the option to import audio, not open a project? I’ll ask over at the Cakewalk group and see if anyone has tried it.
You are a good teacher Pete. This band lab has been really well thought out. I haven’t really looked at it cos I’m happy with GarageBand but it does seem to cover everything. Just 1 question; is it stand alone or do you need internet?
That’s a good question mate? It definitely needs internet access to save files as it stores then in the cloud. Not sure if you can record and edit offline and then it uploads when you’re back online? I’ll have to check it out.
Yup. Everything in BandLab can be used royalty free in all your songs. Just ensure you use multiple loops and samples together, as sometimes other people use loops and then add TH-cam Content ID.
Excellent, pedagogical introduction. Just one question. Your example used an IOS device, so I have a question. Android gets some criticism for audio latency out and about on the web. Have you tested recording vocals to a multitrack project on an Android device? Any notable differences in latency, and if so, how did you handle them?
I love this tutorial ! I’ve seen some yet on Bandlab but this time I’ve really learned something! Also like your singing voice and the example of a song you’ve made here sounds great! I have a for me very important question : for track one, the loop of Bandlab you choosed, I find it very unfortunate it’s not indicated which Bandlab Sound or loop it is. Among other things it’s important for me when for example I’ve saved my song and later I want to know which loop I’ve choosen. Is there a way to fix that problem? I would be very happy to know because this is the reason for me whether to use Bandlab or not in the future.
@PeteJohnsMusic Thanks,im a drummer starting backing track, and splitting music from my phone,to front desk on left channel and click to me on the right,Thanks.
How can it be free? It looks like am optimised GarageBand with the advantage of availability on windows. I started with GarageBand on iPad and add Cubasis 3. Cubasis is from my point of view an outdated DAW, which looks and behave like 90s and even Craig on my iPad. Bandlab looks interesting. But it’s free? How ?
Hey Thies. Yes, the BandLab company have a bunch of different businesses such as the free Cakewalk on PC and BandLab web based DAW, and they subsidise this by other businesses that generate revenue. I understand why you're skeptical - I was (and still am) in many ways... but I think they are just doing what they can to get as many folks in their systems as possible.
@@PeteJohnsMusic well i have my head phones mic on but idk how to turn my phones si i dont rap from my earpuds but from my phone u get me any way thanks for rplying ❤️

hi, do you have a link to the iPad? what model is it if you dont have the link? thanks
So I previously used the iPad Pro 2020 model. I now use an iPad Pro M4. Links are on my gear guide. studiolivetoday.com/gear
Excellent tutorial. Can the loops, one shots, etc be downloaded on to a sd card, or does it have to go straight into the devices hard drive? Referencing Android S10 phone.
Hey there. They can be added to a project and downloaded from there. But no way to actually just save them.
Can you please make beat with the song (ishq mein marjawan 2)
Not sure what you're asking sorry.

@@PeteJohnsMusic Pete, I tried it with a midi file that was already on the ipad and it flew! Thanks for your Time Sir.
Thanks for the video, it would be nice if this app could record other music apps.
Yeah, inter-app and AUv3 would be nice. But you can always couple it up with GarageBand. studiolivetoday.com/garageband
@@PeteJohnsMusic Thanks Pete, I’ve watched all your Garage Band videos.
How do you do the chord changes in the loops or tracks brand new to this
Hey there. You can change the key of the overall project and the loops will follow the key change.
This app would be next level if you could save project as stems to use in any daw to polish it all up
You can export individual stems using the desktop version.

Hey there. So I haven't used Android at all so can't really comment on this sorry. I have heard that latency can be more of an issue.
@@PeteJohnsMusic Thanks. Sounds like I need to find a victim… oops, I meant “collaborator”… running Android to test it out.
"This app collects financial information"
If you give it financial information? Then probably. If you don’t. It won’t. And can’t. Thanks for playing.
Are all those loops royalty free?
Yes. Sure are! Just make sure you use to em in a unique way. Try not to play one at a time at any point.

I think the only way to do this would be to manually rename the track when you add a loop. I agree that it’s not ideal.
Can you make an iPhone one
Potentially. Thanks for the feedback.
Hey man. Gr8 tutorial. So which one should I go with? GarageBand or Bandlab? BandLab has more sounds to experiment with imo.
Yeah. It’s a personal choice. I like GarageBand for most stuff and then I bring in BandLab sounds when I need them.
Can i use mouse and keyboard. My keyboard doesnt work?
I haven’t extensively used BandLab with Mose and keyboard on mobile sorry.
Thank youuuuuuuuuu
You’re very welcome my friend. I hope you get value from the other videos here on the channel and consider subscribing. 👍
Can I run my drum machine, and samples through band lab.and send them to another artist
Yes, if you have an audio interface and can capture the audio you can save it and send it to other folks.
@@PeteJohnsMusic thank you
I need a grid loop. Can that be turned on?
Hey there. So, there are some grid and snapping options in BandLab. studiolivetoday.com/BandLab

Can i pan left or right the metronome?
Unfortunately not in GarageBand iOS. studiolivetoday.com/garageband
