- After a long time of repairing the loose lime render it was time to start the framing and the insulation. A few comments on the insulation;
1. I am opting for breathable walls, so called diffusion open walls. As my house is an old brick house this is the best option I think. I will dwelve more into this subject in another video in the future.
2. I chose not to have space between the wall and the insulation because of this, that's only necessary if I try to make the house damp proof.
3. I chose very thin insulation because of two reasons. First, again with old houses it can cause problems when you use thick insulation, it will create more damp where cold meet hot. Secondly the pipes of the radiators are in the way.
4. I am using the brand Hunton wooden fibre insulation, it's a Norwegian brand and it's completely natural. And breathable. This means it will be easy to recycle in the future and it's an environmental friendly resource.
Et voilà! Quick and easy....by timelapse! Bravo!
😁😁
Thank you for sharing Really enjoyed your video!
Thank YOU for watching!
You are meticulous and it’s enjoyable to watch.
I have never been accused of being meticulous in my life! I'll take it 😁 I have always felt I am a bit sloppy. But I guess when you make your home, you do it more carefully. Thank you for watching 🥰
I’m just trying to figure out what you did after you got done framing the wall. I don’t see anything after that. What did you insulate it with?😮
The insulation are the brown pieces between the framing, it's only 45 mm thick
Why not use metal framing
Good question! There are two reasons. 1. It's cheaper. 2. Wood is a more sustainable resource here in Sweden (generates less CO2).
