I love your love for photography. And your photos.
Thank you, thank you!!! Each time out there is an adventure. 🙏🤗💖
Nice images. I really like the RF 100-500 for small objects.
It is AWESOME. If you put aftermarket extension tubes on there, you can shorten the minimum focus distance a LOT. You do lose the distance, but it does ill the frame a lot more. Hold on to both the lens and body if you do that. Since Canon does not make native RF ones, the aftermarket ones work but they are crap. Fun to play with. 🙏🤗💖
What a beautiful day. Nice video Jonny! 😀
Thank you Chris!!! This 100-500 stil impresses me each time I use it. 🙏🤗💖
You definitely got cool shots with both set ups. I think until you need more magnification than the 100 to 500 can provide, it is the better choice than the true macro lens. Another great lens for this type of work is the 100 to 400 budget lens, it has a little bit more magnification than the 100 to 500! I enjoyed the video and your photographs.
Thank you Phil. Canon lenses are simply amazing. Another fun thing to do is using aftermarket extension tubes to shorten the MFD. It fills the frame more, keeps the amazing AF and sharpness. Hold on to both the lens and body if you do. The 3rd party ones are crop and do let go but Canon does not make native ones. No flash needed when using the 100-500 and that is a huge advantage!! 🙏🤗💖
@@JonnyPink65 That's a really good point about not needing flash. Much easier to get good results.
Cool shots! It has to be wonderful to get out so often for shooting. Thanks for letting me tag along!
Thank YOU for letting me share. I go out as much as I can even if I just give the camera a walk. It feels good just to get out! 🙏🤗💖
The long lens close ups almost beat the true macro shots. Glad you saw the red bishop
I agree! I can stand farther back and get more. The other thing I can do is use some RF third party extension tubes and get even closer LOL. More better..33 magical megapixels!!! Time to get rid of all my old stuff. 🙏🤗💖
Nice macro work! Some other macro lens options are RF 100 Macro and EF 180 Macro.
Thank you!!! My favorite set up is the M50, yes the M50 with the Laowa 100mm - I LOVE that. I did try the RF100 when it came out but I really did not care for it that much. I prefer the EF version. But... the advantage with the 100-500 is I can stand back a bit. If I put extension tubes on the 100-500 I can really fill the frame while still standing back a bit. AND no flash needed!! - that is fun!!! 🙏🤗💖
Your an Artist 🎉
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! You have made me smile and made my day!! 🙏🤗💖
Nice images BUT: A crop sensor does not extend the "reach". It is a digital in-camera crop of the image. If you shoot without the 1.6 crop factor, then crop in post processing to the same dimension, you will get the same image. The pixel size of the image is reduced and possibly more noise is increased. The only way to extend the reach is to increase the optical focal length. Crop factor "reach" is a misnomer.
I understand that. I list most with the "eqv" when showing the focal distance. With the 100-500, I get more reach and no flash needed so I can use a higher shutter speed. I can also use 3rd party extension tubes to shorten the MFD and fill the frame even further. All in good fun. 🙏🤗💖
nice one
Thank you, thank you!!! 🙏🤗💖
Venus Optics manual macro lens, Some Canon R series has a menu option to set as, fire shutter without lens. My new R.P. does not seem to offer that. So, I cannot use them.
Oh no. My favorite macro set up was the Venus optics 100mm on the M50. That had one of the best focus peaking set ups that I had used. I have to pull that back out again - it was a fun little camera. I could use ,y flash on the R50 and that is why I was using the internal flash. I did not try the Laowa. I think it is still sitting on the M50!! 🙏🤗💖
