I've noticed several TH-camrs saying they always leave their iPhone on Mute and assuming everyone does the same... I suspect ONLY people who also wear an Apple Watch do that - I don't wear one so it's hardly ever on Mute - otherwise I'd miss every call, text and email 👂
I'm forgoing the 15. I have the Space Black 14 Pro max and am quite pleased with it. Besides, I've upgraded every year since the 11 and I'm done being a knucklehead! LOL If I lived in Britain, I'd buy you a pint.
I upgraded from an iPhone 12 Pro Max to the 15 pro max. The 12 is thinned depth wise, but the 15 is slimmer across, and it really does make a difference combined with the curved edges when picking the phone up. I use my phones without a case, so the differences are probably negated by a case.
0:53 I felt this *exact * way going from my 13PM to the 14PM - I loved the 13PM. I think the upgrade was nominal imo. But from the 14PM to 15PM is like, yoooooooo… I love this phone. The camera system is amazing. The battery life is really really good (I’m using the 80% charge mode), I didn’t realize how much usb-c was the it.
I got the deep purple Iphone 14 pro max after years of getting gold. While I like the color, I don't think dark colors for Iphones are for me. This year I got the white titanium.
Another great video, Mark - I've come to similar early conclusions myself. Just gone from my iPhone 13 Pro Max to the 15 Pro Max... The 13PM was the best phone I have ever owned (note: not my favourite though, which was the HTC One M7 and always will be), and the 15PM is slightly nicer in every direction; it's a little bit smaller, a little bit lighter, the speakers sound a little bit better, it's a little bit more comfortable, the battery seems a little bit better (wow!), it's USB C like my iPad Pro and MBP. The bezels are perfect, no thinner please Apple; bezel-free screens are deeply annoying and why I dumped my Huawei Mate 20. I like dynamic island, and agree with you, it's no game changer but it is a nice improvement. I haven't had time to test the camera really but all the reviews say it's a solid upgrade from the 14 so hopefully will be a big step up from my 13PM. Just turning my 15PM over in my hands and considering it a little from a wider viewpoint makes me think that it really is a quite astonishing piece of technology. even 25 years ago people would probably have thought it was alien technology! I hope Apple bring out some AirPod Pro 3's next spring, and AirPod Maxes too!
Yes, I have many Lightning cables and I always charge my iPhones overnight. It's always charged up in the morning. Lightning vs USB-C makes no difference to me.
I always charge my iPhone 4s throughout the night since May 2012! Still charged to 100% in the morning and it's still the original battery after 11 years of continuous use. It still supports about 3 hours of phone communication per day. I bought a replacement battery 3 years ago which remains quietly in its box before a future exchange with the original one. I've heard so much terrifying advice about the risks of overloading that I'm oversaturated with it... (Signed Google translation)
Great content. The titanium has a pvp coating on top of the titanium. It will scratch super easy. If you decide not to put it in a case and then drop it. 😮 the frame might not dent, but the back glass will crack. Titanium is not forgiving, so the shock will go to the weakest points, being the glass.
I do wonder if the dynamic island is a bit like the MacBook Pro Touch Bar. Kind of cool, but in no way essential to using the device. Great review btw!
I hope iPhone moving to USB C can force a streamlining of USB C cords. When I was using Android, it was cumbersome trying to figure out if a particular cord would both charge and move data. I have appreciated the made for Apple peace of mind.

I was one of the lucky ones to experience the iPhone 15 pro max on Thursday. If you have iPhone 14 pro my best advice is wait until the iPhone 16 models launch next year. iPhone 15 pro max which i have it’s ok not a wow game changer.

the titanium is misleading as its an aluminum chassis covered in titanium. not much of it is actually titanium. in drop tests its actually performs worse than the iPhone 14 pro hence I'm not upgrading.
The lack of a regular portrait camera makes it unbuyable for me. An ultra wide is a gimmick although it has its occasional uses, the 120mm will have more use but is also an occasional use camera. That makes this flagship phone essentially a 1 camera phone…

I’m upgrading from an iphone 11, but can’t decide between the 15 Pro and the Pro Max. I’ve never had a Pro Max phone before, so I’m dubious about size; amd trying out both in the Apple store hasn’t really given me a definitive amswer. Having an iPad Pro 12.9 has made the 60hz screen on my current phone really unappealing for browsing, so I do want Promotion. However, I wonder if using an ipad pro for most computing needs makes the bigger screen size of the Pro Max redundant. As someone who has an ipad pro, do you still think that the 15 Pro Max is worth it over the 15 Pro, for the bigger screen size?
USB-C without USB3 speed across-the-board is an insult. I’ve never bought a top-of-the-line model phone, and I won’t start now sign absolutely one of those being very irritated at the change from lightning making everything I have, with lightning, obsolete.

Jerryrigeverything broke the back glass of the 15 Pro Max just by bending it is so..Titanium is strong but depends on the thickness. If you put a big case on the phone the looks and feel of the new one is kind of lost.

It's like buying a Gibson Les Paul, and keeping it in a hardshell while playing. My SE 2017 had never had a cover, it fell down several times on hard surfaces (floor tiles, road asphalt), it's got just few scratches on aluminum frame and that's all. Apart from giving great functionality, its design is an important part creating user experience.
I'm not sure why iphones are compared to android phones. For most people, we are stuck in an ecosystem, either iPhone+Mac+iPad or Android. Very unlikely anyone will leave their ecosystem for a minor feature available on another device.

What is this USB C obsession? I have literally Lightening, MagSafe, USB A, USB B, USBC, Micro USB and Mini USB devices in current use. It makes precisely no difference to me at all really - they did not even make it Thunderbolt. And what is the difference between your filming focus mode and just switching the phone to silent?
No difference to you, but for people who want one cable for everything, or fast transfer speeds, it is huge. As for the filming focus mode, it stops all notifications and stuff happening on the displays of all of my Apple devices.

Interesting 1st impressions vid Mark. In summary, USB-C long overdue and only happened due to EU Ruling; titanium much needed as the 14 ProMax weighed a tonne; camera Specs still not best in class? Having switched to s23 Ultra, Samsung Spec's and their 1UI interface, offers a better user experience than the iPhone (and value if you factor-in Samsung's trade-in deals!)

On android i do have a galaxy watch, but despite the option to have my notifications only come through the watch, it doesn’t always work weirdly enough. So i just keep it on do not disturb and check periodically. Maybe i should get myself an iPhone pro max and an Apple Watch. Sounds a lot better to me. Appreciate the content thanks a bundle.
Just came back from the Apple store. All the 15 Pro Max iPhones, except white are fingerprint/smudge magnets. The phones on display looked as if they’d been used by careless users for years, except for the white which looks amazing and doesn’t show marks as easily. Also, the natural titanium has to be the ugliest color ever: it looks like drab concrete, a tin can, or a welding job that hadn’t been finished, very industrial and really horrible!
I've ordered one yesterday, with discounts came in at about £26 delivered. This morning I changed my mind on colour and emailed them... they were amazing about it. Hopefully the case is as good as their CS!

It's so funny, how the colour preferences differ. Hearing you complaining about the Deep Purple 14 Pro Max multiple times made me go have a look at it in person in the shop before ordering 😂 And I still think it's one of the best colours Apple's ever come up with (along with the green iPhone 11 Pros). On the other hand, I don't like any of the colours of this year's models - regular or Pros 🤷♀️ I wasn't going to upgrade anyway, but it's an extra nice feeling of really not missing out in any way 😂

Today I had the 15 pro max and 15 pro in my hands and I don't know what I feel... (I liked it and I didn't like it... it was strange...) I was surprised they didn’t get rid of the mute switch sooner, my 2018 iPad Pro has had that pull down mute switch for years

@@MarkEllisReviews huh. I’ve been on both iPhone and android (mostly Samsung) on and off. On android i do have a galaxy watch, but despite the option to have my notifications only come through the watch, it doesn’t always work weirdly enough. So i just keep it on do not disturb and check periodically. Maybe i should get myself an iPhone pro max and an Apple Watch. Sounds a lot better to me. Appreciate the content thanks a bundle.

Just came back from the Apple store. All the 15 Pro Max iPhones, except white are fingerprint/smudge magnets. The phones on display looked as if they’d been used by careless users for years, except for the white which looks amazing and doesn’t show marks as easily. Also, the natural titanium has to be the ugliest color ever: it looks like drab concrete, a tin can, or a welding job that hadn’t been finished, very industrial and really horrible!
I mean, if you want to jam the wrong thing in your new Iphone and potentially damage the inside of the port, go for it.

I've ordered one yesterday, with discounts came in at about £26 delivered. This morning I changed my mind on colour and emailed them... they were amazing about it. Hopefully the case is as good as their CS!

It's so funny, how the colour preferences differ. Hearing you complaining about the Deep Purple 14 Pro Max multiple times made me go have a look at it in person in the shop before ordering 😂 And I still think it's one of the best colours Apple's ever come up with (along with the green iPhone 11 Pros).
On the other hand, I don't like any of the colours of this year's models - regular or Pros 🤷♀️
I wasn't going to upgrade anyway, but it's an extra nice feeling of really not missing out in any way 😂

I personally switched from my iphone 14 pro max to the Galaxy Z Fold 5. I'm very happy with it. It was difficult to adapt because I had never used Android before... I clearly had to buy the SE 2023 because of the ecosystem... but it's always off, I don't miss it...
Today I had the 15 pro max and 15 pro in my hands and I don't know what I feel... (I liked it and I didn't like it... it was strange...)
I think it's all part of marketing that we are all affected by without realizing it... where Apple is very good at manipulating our brain... . and the secret is very simple... uses simplicity for communication... and that's where they use the operating system based on global learning simplicity used for people with learning disabilities.. while the android system uses words and links within links and more links to reach an end... all the best Mark
