The newer model has been out since 2019, the steering wheel is standard in all 958.2 models, the headlights are standard in all 958.2 with the option of laser lights throughout production, and the Porsche crests are an option on all models, they don't come with much equipment standard, the options list is absolutely massive, I've got a GTS and came out of an m3 and loving it

I’ve got the one last production run 958.2 diesels February 2018. It was the dealer demo with £15k of options. It took over 3 months to find it, as every cayenne is specked differently. My previous car was a X4 which i really liked, but I was disappointed with the build quality, specifically the constant rusting callipers. Done three times under warranty. The cayenne interior is a special place, ok it’s not the most modern, but it always gives me a buzz when i get in. Mine’s got the extended leather, the touch & feel is sublime. I thought the X4 drove well until I tried the cayenne, for a 2.5 ton vehicle it’s mighty impressive. One of the reasons it took so long to find the right car, was the active suspension. It’s a expensive option, but a must if you have the 21inch wheels. Without this the ride is ruined with the bigger wheels. After 3 years I’ve had no major problems, apart from a misted up headlight that was done under warranty. I use a specialist for servicing, around 30% cheaper then the main dealership, but still using factory parts. They optioned the 100 litre tank in my car, that means over a 850mile range. Show me a electric car that can do that. The biggest expense is the tyres, at 25k all 4 needed changing! A snip at £950.00. Yes you can get cheaper, but it does need to a recommended brand in my opinion. Fortunately i only do 8k a year. I do like the latest model, but it’s going to have to wait a while. The second hand prices in the Uk have skyrocketed, to buy a model just a year younger would cost my car plus £30k so I’m keeping mine for the moment.

Cayenne’s are not 4x4s. They are moderately capable awd sport utes with the emphasis on sport in the right set up. I would take a Cayenne on dirt tracks and mild trails but nothing more unless lifted with more capable tires.

Great car but a few things. Those are 21” wheels not 22’s and whoever fitted those wind deflectors needs to have a word with themselves. Sort of things you see on VW GTi’s and Golf R’a from Bradford and Birmingham.

Yeah I had the 2nd model years ago with the V8 & it had Porsche RACING TURBOS!!! Bought it that way- SO AWESOME god it was seriously fast I lived out of the city & I knew the surrounding roads REALLY WELL,
You probably won’t believe it but I used to take it out at like 3-5am & regularly do 250k’s in it & it just cruised happily &1 hung on the road like it was a magnet. I could do a90 degree corner at 60k”s & not even brake & it went around the corner like it was on rails. Sadly probably inevitably I got seen by so many cops & got so many fines- $16000- that they actually came & IMPOUNDED MY CAR FOR 6 weeks!!! A. holes. I finally was made to give it up.
God dammit I want ANOTHER ONE! I’ve been good for so long…….. 🥺& the new ones look fabulous- do they still have the massaging seats as an option??? That was my excuse to go driving- sore back lol 😂

Interesting.. having the gal to ask people to leave their thoughts in the comments, but not to reply or even like any of them. Even though there are only 32.
Perhaps this kind of car is simply for a certain type of person, which is why it's so silly to the rest of us.

This is the car equivalent of people lusting after McDonalds (added if McD's cost the same as actual food). Cooks and people who love food just do not understand.
To date, I'm yet to meet a Cayenne owner that I even vaguely respect or find interesting. And I'm hoping that someday one can change my mind about such a pointless vanity item.
