I have the 2024 Cayman S. BMW doesn't come close. We graduate to Porsche. People don't graduate to BMW. The 2.5L Turbo is the best build ever for the Cayman. The perfect engine for the platform. The flat six is slow, zero torque down low, and only works above 5k rpms. It's a track car. Add PASM, PTV like I did when I custom built my Porsche and you'll have the best 2 seat mid engine, analog gauge, 6sp manual Sportscar Porsche will ever build. Turbo. There is no substitute.

are the seats comfy? and how have you found the room in the car? see i live in my car and i am worried about the lack of space, and does it eat fuel?

@@982SharkBlue so im 6ft 1, and test drove it yesterday, it was great tbh, think i just saw a negative review of one person saying driving more than an hour is uncomfortable but yeah i had no issues, how have you found fuel ? does it eat it, do you fuel often and is it daily driver?

@miscool i drive it in Sport mode, 100% of the time. It's a weekend car. I get around 380 miles to the tank entrance ramps onto the highway, I'm redlining it. I'm definitely not concerned about fuel. This isn't my daily driver

I have a Cayman S and a 911 Turbo S and I would never part with either for anything less than a McLaren with a warranty. I actually LOVE driving the Cayman just as much my 911 because it’s so different and offers a different kind of engagement. The cayman being manual is a big part of that but not the only part. Manual, lighter, mid engined, rear wheel drive and howling flat 6 versus heavier rear engine car with WAY more power and torque and the fastest, smoothest shifting dual clutch in existence. The turbo s hides its weight absolutely brilliantly. You would swear it’s only slightly heavier than the cayman if you did not know better. I respect BMW owners but no way I’m giving up these for any BMW.

3,9 sec from 0-60 "not very fast". lol. I own the cayman s and you CAN connect via bluetooth and play music. It is absolutely possible. CarPlay only works with cable. The thing with the cayman is, it is a track tool. Although it is not sold as a track tool. But some even prefer it over the 911 because of the balance and weight.

Dude haha! This is MY car. I bought it from Fields Porsche last month and am loving it. PS- it does have wireless Bluetooth audio (and I've also added a wireless CarPlay usb dongle to the center armrest storage area). I've owned an F82 M4 and a Jag F-Type R in the past, and I feel this one is comparable in power but feels lighter on its feet with the mid-engine layout and low weight. The M4 was a 6spd manual and the Jag an automatic with AWD, so very different experiences all around. And all great cars!

You’re buying into the 911 hype way too much. Have you ever driven them back to back? I’ve owned 718 Spyder and then 991.2 carrera 4s w/ x51 power kit. While I loved the 911 as a daily. The 718 Spyder and cayman/boxster in general is the superior platform and significantly more nimble than the 911. The weight transfer is immediately noticeable in the 911. On a tight course, the cayman is what you want.
Having sold both cars within the past year, the car I always think about is the 718 Spyder. Not the 911.

Just a bit of history…i was a BMW driver for many years and thought it was great, which it was, but…it in no way compares to a Porsche, back in 2015 i bought my first Porsche and gone are the rattles and annoying quality sounds that come standard on any BMW…. No in terms of driving, i have a 2022 Boxster GTS 4.0 and a Macan S. The driving experience you get from the Boxster with the 4 liter flat six is miles away from any BMW. In fact before i bought it, i test drove a BMW Z4 with the B58 engine, great car, dont get me wrong, but after a bit of a spirited drive, all i could feel is the heavy front end trying to slide out of the corner, didnt want to rotate naturally, whereas the Boxster rotates and stays planted all the way and that is an experience you will never get from an M4 or M3 period. The BMW has the power, just not the finesse and nor does it have the build quality. In the end it is always the same, you get what you pay for.

Fair review in my opinion. 1) I'm tall, so a GTS with it's shitty legroom is not an option...so the S is the only Cayman for me, 2) I wrestled with the highly optioned S vs a base 911 for sure. But this is the last year you can get a non electric Cayman, so I went with that. If I really want a 911, I can trade it up. This is going to be my daily driver, so the 911 just felt a bit much for that in price, gas and maintenance. Just put my deposit down yesterday, Yellow with all the options this review car had.

@@arr0gant1 The market is flooded with not only 2018-2020’s for 50-60k, but also newer. The depreciation on 718’s is absolutely horrendous. You can find 2014-2015 Cayman’s selling for more than some 718’s. Anyone who thinks they’re going to buy a newer Porsche with the flat 4, and sell it later with only a 30k loss is higher than 🦒🐱. I love the 718, but unfortunately many Porsche purest do not which is why the resale value is so awful. Nobody wants to buy a car and lose 50% of its value. Don’t believe me go to Carvana, Autotrader, Cargurus, etc. Good luck to anyone selling their used 718 who thinks they’re going to get 80k for it.
