This is the most wholesome thing Mario’s ever been included in. He’s usually portrayed as an evil person but this is how I imagine him

For real Mario and Luigi actually have a very brotherly love filled relationship so idk why the fanbase portrays Mario as the shitty older brother that treats Luigi like shit while he's actually very nice to Luigi and very caring for his little brother which is why he doesn't take him on much adventures because he doesn't want to risk him getting hurt, but at the same time is considerate to his wishes to tag along just to see him happy and not feel left out. Looking at this comic, it's nice to have the brother's relationship portrayed as it truly is and I hope more people in the fanbase will portray it that way more often.
just imagine them having a dialogue like this after that:
"Hey, Mario, why aren't-a you saying hello in the title screen?"
"Oh, the player is gone..."
"Wha-what happened to him? Is he sick? Is he ok now?"
"No, Luigi, he just-a... Uh... Grew up..."
I loved this comment so much that i made a wholesome comic about it, thank you for this!

I love SM64 Luigi. When pieced back together he looks like classic (old school) Luigi ie- looks like green Mario only with slightly thinner body parts. He ended up looking way better than all the fan made ones and exactly how he is supposed to look in Super Mario 64 👍

It has been one hell of a journey though as when I was a kid I was drawn into this theory and I’m the happiest person when I found out that I honestly nearly cried even if I was late to the party. It’s great to see that L was in the end... Real and it’s just a beautiful thing

0:43 okay this was pretty clever, they showed mario under a shadow and the shadow slowly disappears, as Mario becomes brighter and brighter. We can interpret the shadow as Mario's sadness slowly creeping away, being replaced with utter pure happiness
Even if this legendary mystery has come to a close, we can still rest easy knowing that all along, L really was real

I like to think Mario does this every time he doesn’t include Luigi in his adventures because one: He truly cares about his bro unlike how most people portray Mario and two: He knows Luigi basically wants to be like his big brother and loves going on adventures.

It's been 24 years, but in that period of time, we finally found him. It was such a nice mystery to figure out, but now it's gone.

I never stopped believing. I always hoped L was Real (2401). Seeing that I was right like a lot more people were too is just fulfilling.
at least it left us whit a good topic to talk about, yknow to re visit that era that luigi was still missing.
Mario has obviously gotten bored of going through the same paintings over the 24 years, but going through them with Luigi, it brings a good distraction from the fact that he is stuck in this limbo/purgatory/whatever world.
I'd say purgatory, considering there are wings in the game

I think this is a good metaphor for Mickey and Oswald as well, Oswald is Mickey's older brother who Disney lost the rights to, and when they eventually regained the rights after like 80 years, they made the Epic Mickey games, where Oswald was essentially in the exact same situation as Luigi in Super Mario 64, he technically doesn't exist within the real world anymore since people just forgot about him, so he just lives in a world for people who are forgotten, where, wouldnt you know it, people travel via projector screens, similar to the paintings in Mario 64.
Only difference is that for some reason Mickey decides to become the worst fucking brother of all time and tell LITTERALY NOBODY OF OSWALD'S EXISTENCE, essentially erasing any chances he has of getting out of the world he is trapped in. There is litteraly never any explanation given for this, he just decides not to tell anyone. Donald Goofy and Minnie only know about the existence of the world since some witch fucking sucked them in there, and even still I'm not entirely sure they even know about Oswald at all.

My theory: The real reason Luigi wasn’t in the game was because Bowser imprisoned him in the fountain for 24 years and 1 month. Mario was sad because he didn’t know how to save him and was forced to wait that long in order for the spell to be broken. Years go by and Luigi is finally free, and the Bros have a joyful reunion!
(Please note that this was simply my way of incorporating it into the story and it’s not actually true.)

My theory: luigi, waluigi, or wario arent in mario 64, but included in the DS version. Maybe they where acrually living in the DS version

i just got hit with like instant sadness and happiness at the same time, this just makes me wish they did end up implementing luigi into SM64 (yes ik he was in SM64DS, but that doesnt count) and also the same feeling of mario & luigi series games, and it makes me wish that they would revisit something like this in the next 3D open world mario game

Welcome home Luigi, you magnificent green hero.

Fun Fact: L actually WAS real, a 4channer was digging through Super Mario 64's files and found a folder simply named "Luigi." He posted a wip image including Mario with Luigi's head. After that, L was finally real. He posted an image of SM64 Luigi and everyone celebrated, screamed, panicked and shat themselves.

Super Mario 64 WAS planning on having Multiplayer
I almost cried cuz i felt exactly like mario on this comic when sm64ex-coop, when it relased i played with a friend that never play'd super mario 64 before, play with him, teach him how the game works, and the best. See he learning, and enjoying the experience, and for me... It was something new, i never seen something so new in a game that a played for years. When he joined, i didn't it was felt the same game, when i wached lakitu cutscene i didn't wanted to skip. When i see'd him. A smile on my face appeard...
but unfortunately after all this. This friend had a problem and we never played again. (a tear literally just fell down my face)
