The best RTR model produced to date. So much thought put into the design, and especially the sound package which really suits new ESU speaker. Cavalex must be congratulated. Only problem there is no reason for Mike to do a sound upgrade🙂
The model of the year for me, and we're not even a quarter of the way through it yet. The problem is when you have an engine like the 56 they all loo far too clean unless they are heavily weathered , only ever saw clean ones when brand new in crewe works or on the test train
Have 4 of them with sound (Colas 56049, DCR 56091, GBRf 56081 & 56098) and this Cavalex 56 would have to be contender for Model of the Year, they are that good in looks, detail & sound. This video demonstrates the 'proof is in the pudding'.

Have you done a test of decoders to fit etc for plain Dcc? Or tried a hm7000 sound decoders to see what works .. I've heard you have to get a bespoke decoder for everything to work but wondered if any decoders work successfully?
@@class66 Most decoders will work to a degree, as will other sound profiles. I've tried a V5 that normally lives in one of my Hornby 56s in the Cav 56 with a Legomanbiffo sound profile and it works fine with a bit of function remapping, but doing it this way you lose some of the more advanced lighting functionality and fan operation with certain decoders. To get full functionality you need to get either an ESU Lokpilot with the class 56 specific mapping programmed to it, or for sound you need the Loksound V5 with the class 56 specific sound profile from a Cavalex approved retailer.

They must be good...... most liveries sold out everywhere

They were clean when first arrived at Tinsley, The first 50 I was a secondman then at Sheffield, Good days.
