Also with gaming Sony just pushed out an update that gave my a90k Sonys new gaming center which is something new for the 2023 model tv’s
I’ve just updated my a90k to the latest version, but I can’t see the new gaming center. Where can I find it ? Thanks
You Can now turn VRR on/off and BFI on/off thats the "Gaming Center" 😂😂😂 LG is Number 1 for Gaming with Hgig.
Same! Having a game bar is really nice
The fact that this is such a highly requested video has got to be telling us all something about the huge demand for 42, 48 and 50 inch TVs.
Agree....Lots of customers, like myself, are using this 48" Sony OLED TV as a monitor and connecting a computer!
@@rodneydangerfield7153 and there are many others who just do not have a room big enough to accommodate a 55+ inch TV. In our case 50 inches is as big as we can go for a wall mounted TV due to the small size of our living room. I just wish we had a lot more options that are currently available.
This is because most gamers nowadays are getting monitor level specs on these sets. It's a dream come true, monitor specs on a television. Great for both games and movies.
I got recently the C3 to be used primarily as a PC gaming monitor (amazon black friday deal for 900 US) and some movie watching from time to time. The A90K also looks great but for what I needed the C3 is perfect and price was a steal.
Got the 48" Sony A90k a few days ago, haven't compared it to the LG, but I'm blown away by the picture and sound quality!
price difference between the 42 and 48 is only 100 dollars. something to think about
Blown away by TV speakers?😂
@@robtennant98 They sound great, no need for a soundbar.
@@s1gnex soundbars aren’t great either, you should get some £300+ bookshelf speakers and you’ll never look back
@@robtennant98 I have bookshelf speakers connected to living room TV. Edifier G5000
I went with the LG C3 and couldnt be more happier with my choice.
I just got the C3 and I love it!
Yep, just picked up am A90K, love it.
Haha, I am buying lg TVs just for their great magic remote. The design could be better, but having a real no lag air mouse makes navigation, text input and web browsing so much better than any other TV out there.
I like the LG C3 better. Love vivid pic quality. Also when you select vivid in the picture settings it brightens up dark scenes. There are several picture adjustments that make this screen amazing!!
Great review, I'm leaning towards a C3 to replace my C7 from 2017 and I would definitely appreciate a brightness boost
Sony a90k owned for a year still a absolute beast best tv I’ve ever had
You are absolutely correct.
After i start using LG Magic remote, there is no goin back to remote of other brands , to me it felt superior
Exact same here!
Yep, the magic remote is truly wonderful
I agree 100%. The magic remote is the best TV remote I have ever used. And the screen pointer makes it so much easier to type with on screen keyboards for logins, etc. Just about any other remote seems like a step backwards to me.
Great to hear get my first lg TV next week the c3 55 inch and I was wondering about the remote so good to hear from lg owners that it's great
I recently grabbed the 48 90k for a PC monitor slash bedroom tv. Very nice image, wow.
I would have picked the Sony, for the color accuracy, speaker placement, interface and remote. But then I saw the LG C2 on sale for $500 less and based on other reviews I’ve seen, there isn’t much difference between the C2 and C3, so I went with the LG C2. I just couldn’t justify the cost difference
PLZ HELP im.confused between A80k ,samsung S90C and LG C2 ESPECIALLY COZ OF BRIGHTNESS ISSUE as DIMMING ISSUE ON A80K.BOTH COME AT ALMOST SAME PRICE IN DUBAI.PLZ SUGGEST AS today I hav to make a decision as sale will get over.
actually there is a HUGE difference which is also shown in reviews. this is why I returned my C2 and wait for the C3 to drop in price a bit then Il go for it. Its def worth the time and extra money.

Love your videos!! Will you do a side by side comparison between C3 and A80L? But I assume the A90K has the similar colour as the A80L? Currently in Australia, C3 is 600 AUD cheaper than Sony A80L but I always prefer the colours on Sony
What HDMI splitter do you use to run side by side comparisons?
LG C3 is what I wanted and is what I will stick with the selling point was more HDMI ports I have alot of stuff hitched up to my TV my switch, my PS5, my 4K player so thats 3 right there so I feel this be the best for my money.
I feel you. I only have my PS5 hitched up to my tv so I bought the Sony.
Great video. I love it Could also please do a video on the philips oled tv
Fantastic video, thank you!
LG C3 for me. I had the C2 and absolutely loved it.
Did u experience burn in?
@@hooliganrando6504it’s Burn in
😂😂😂😂
@@hooliganrando6504lg doesn’t experience burn in anymore. QD OLEDs like Sonys tv’s are more prone to burn in because instead of having a while color in each pixel the QD OLEDs have to use all 3 colors to create white in each pixel. If you’re worried about burn in go with LG. If you want higher peak brightness go with Sony.
After extensive research and side by side comparisons, I actually went with the S90C
An excellent review and particularly helpful for me because my 9-year old Loewe Art 48" TV died tonight and I've got to get a replacement. I'll be going to John Lewis tomorrow to see these 2 models for myself but having listened carefully to your very detailed comparison I think the Sony A90K, perhaps with a sound bar, will suit my needs best.
Thanks for this comparison! It's almost impossible to choose, so I'll let fate decide. Whatever TV goes on sale first, I'll buy it lol.
8:54 Just curious, what picture modes are you using here? ISF Expert Bright should be the most correct for daytime viewing or Filmmaker Mode with the brightness turned up. Looks way too over the top here, like you're using standard or dynamic. I don't know, but my CX certainly doesn't look like that, and it would be weird if the newer C3 looked worse than my CX.
Hi! Thx for the video but which tv has a better input lag (Real better) c3 or a90k plz for quick answer 😅
Got my c3 on tuesday with a matching soundbar subwoofer and ps5... so far im well happy with it ! Watched top gun with all the dolby atmos stuff and wow orchestra sound was amazing ! Sure both tvs would impress anyone
How’s the upscaling for an old movie?
Thats funny I just bought the C3 65" and a PS5 yesterday bahaha. Absolutely 💯. Love it.
How's the picture as it dims apparently in games
@Mrsuitcase742 not that I can tell its been brilliant ! Love it ! Needs the sound bar though that's the only negative I have about the TV itself
Same here. Bought the 65 c3 with sc9s soundbar and ps5 is coming tomorrow. I'm not sure about the wow orchestra thoug for movies...i feel like there is some sort of echo...
Hey Guys, when will you drop the Sonos Arc Home Theater video? I‘m waiting for this one since you released the one for the Beam Gen2!
Nice review. I just bought the A90K and watching this review made me know I did the right choice
6 years ago I bought an entry level Sony Bravia 4k HDR 43" without checking the competition to get along with my PS4 slim. I was blown away with the Horizon Zero Dawn graphics that time. Been happy with the TV and so far no issue that I have encountered since day 1. Now I'm considering to upgrade my TV since I recently bought a PS5 but I'm very overwhelmed with the options that I have. My current nearly 7yr old tv is still doing fine and as much as I want to upgrade to a Sony Oled, the price hurts my wallet. I think I'll go with my first LG TG which is C2 for now and hope it will last long.
You won't be disappointed.
I got the 65" LG C2 for just under £1400. Its not too different from the C3, so I went with that
of course its different. no DTS support which annoys me in my G1.
@@Vincent-mx4rkdo you know if there are streaming services suporting that?
Would you buy the A90K over the A80L? Have you done a comparison video on these 2?
Now make a video where you tune the look of the C3 to match the A90K!
Picked up the LG - 48" C3 at BestBuy yesterday for $1049 (Black Friday deals going on now), the Sony A90K at $1400. With be using the LG in an Outdoor linai so I am very happy.
How does the LG handle the sunlight ?
The TV is under a roof in my Linai (sun never hit that area) and I have no issues with refection's or washout.
@@joenovak6393 ..Thanks , been wanting to buy it but was worried because we live in Florida and have a southern facing sliding glass door that the tv would be up against. Also have 2 windows in the west wall so it’s a pretty bright room .
Good review. In my country for these models, both 48", the difference in price is unjustified. Sony : 1650e, LG : 899e. So my vote is obvious.
Great content. I'll you know, receiving the C3 this week. We also picked up the lg use6s, so will have to see how that goes.
So now that you’ve had it for a bit, what do you think about it so far?
@@zekem3252 Love it. but this is my first new TV in 11 years!! So this is night and day. But, looking at other TV's now we are very pleased with this one, especially as you can change the settings to suit the input i.e. gaming, film etc.
@@andyw3152 Good to know, I also have an 11 year old TV as well (Panasonic Plasma) that I am looking to replace. Thinking about walking into best buy today and see which one looks more appealing. I am kinda leaning more toward the C3, but we'll see

@@zekem3252didn't recall even noticing a green tint. The TV is awesome.
If anyone wants to add a sound bar to any of the LG OLEDS all you need to do is measure the height of your sound bar and raise the LG TV up the height with a wood board.
Great job and watch TV would work best for movies? 😎👍

Great review. When u think sony A90M is releasing?
Please note that the firmware for the LG C3 will not allow you to turn off "auto dimming" via the Service Menu as you could with the C2. The Service Menu that could be accessed by a service remote allowed this was removed. Although there is still a way to access the menu, this solution is unsatisfactory since the TV will revert to the old settings and wipe out calibrations if the TV is turned off.
LG needs to fix this.
woah, that's crazy that they removed it considering it is the number 1 thing people complain about.
I thought this was updated and auto dimming only comes into effect when static images are detected. No?
@@noxt.111 I can't say as I'm using this C3 as a computer monitor.

Can you use a Hdmi splitter cable to hook up 4 hdmi devices to the a90k?
Has the C4's video processor reached the quality of the Sony A90K? Is it better to choose LG C4 today than the 90K?
I know that lg has absl problem, I have a question: In which scenarios does dimming occur? If you watch TV with a very bright screen, or does it not matter? And another question: Does dimming occur in all modes or, for example, only in game mode?
Man, spot on comparison. I love your word choice, easy to understand and really help me decide. Definitely Sony for me, it's more accurate to life.
Glad we could help!
can you plug external HDD with 4K mkv files to USB ports and play them?
Have you ever done the ski jumping test on oled tv?
It very much depends on your local price offers - both of them are excellent OLED TVs.
Keep in mind the 55’+ models have a little bit of a better overall screen on the C3. The 42’ and the 48’ models are slightly dumbed down, and you will get better performance out of the 55’ 65’ 77’ 83’ models.
Only on reference to brightness.
that appears to be the single biggest talking point in regards to OLED.. wouldn’t you say? So my comment is correct, and some would say an important declaration if you’re considering one of the smaller C3 models.
I was gonna get a c3 42inch for gaming is it that big a difference?
@@tombradysr.8048 no it’s just a little bit of peak brightness, everything else is the same, you’d hardly notice it side by side, but in a scientific setting where you’re testing nits, it is indeed less bright than the bigger 55’+ models. I don’t think it would bother you. I have a 27 LG Oled monitor and I believe it has less brightness than all of them and I absolutely adore that monitor, it’s the best monitor on the market imo. The only situation it might perform worse is in a very bright room with a ton of natural light, if you’re in a light controlled environment or a dimmer room, it’s going to look lovely. Enjoy your TV, don’t look for someone to talk you out of liking it, decide for yourself and your particular use case. If you don’t like it, and don’t mind 27’ check out the LG GR95QE, it’s 770 at Costco right now and I’ve seen it for 690 at B&H. Enjoy your new monitor!
The design of the bezels side on and the rear chunky bit are also different on 55”+ models. I think I will go for the 55”, it’s been reduced in price and is a small step up in size rather than a drop compared to my current tv
Recently got a C3 and as of yet after various setups I have yet to see this green tint issue. Excellent TV so far anyway.
Honestly, throughout the video he has a lot of grips with the C3. To the point where this feels like he's picking a side and trying to convey it to his audience. Most people are going to prefer the C3. I think both TVs look spectacular. But for gaming... there's only one option.
Color balance is beyond simple to fix, especially if it's just a slight green push
Do you have a single row of pixels along the time and bottom that look off? One reddit review mentioned this on their c3, not sure if they got a lemon or it was common as I haven't heard it mentioned elsewhere
Mine's been good. No problems. Sounds to me they may have an artifact or panel problem. I'd take a few pictures, close up to try and make a visual record for warranty purposes or when they're talking with their retailer. I have no such issues with mine.@@GadgetsGearCoffee
What's the point in testing TVs in Standard mode, while they both have Filmmaker Mode which is far more accurate?
I have to give a small correction, the Sony, A 90 K has a heat sink which only the Master Series model will get!
what the input lag in 480p 4:3 720p etc for old game consoles with a scaler unit like the retrotink ? the sony supports dts and most lg tvs dont?
Can’t decide 77” c3 or 77” a80L 😩 help!
Mainly streaming, Netflix, TH-cam… sometimes ps5
Currently have 65” c1
I wish you also tested it as a PC monitor both for gaming and productivity work as the LG CX series has been one of the best monitor alternatives for BFGDs. I didn't even think of Sony as a choice before seeing this video. Glad you made this regardless!
I would say C3 if you want it as a PC monitor. Im still hesitating between 48 C3 and 42 C3, not sure if 48 inch is a bit too big for PC monitor😂
@@NigelTangLRaren't tvs meant to be seen at a distance to avoid vision problems. That's why they made monitors.
It’s an interesting choice to compare a Sony tv that doesn’t come in either 55 or 65 “ which are by far the most popular screen size in both the Uk & US and while uk home is often smaller than your average US home ( flats/ apartments aside ) I do kind of think the Sony is outclassed but maybe that’s the whole point of the review. If though I was after a C3 I’d definitely shop around for a discounted C2 as it seems there isn’t a vast difference to justify the price gap .
which ones is best for watching sports live?

Im confused. Google says the c3 absolutely has HDR10+. Don’t all high end OLEDS?
Can I ask you what is the peak luminance of the a90k?

How does the Sony A80L compare to LgC3
I went with the LG C3 to me it’s superior for gaming between input lag, DTS passthrough, and QMS VRR is a huge thing especially for the dreaded “signal not found” black screens. The superior brightness is a huge thing too. Not to mention you’re not paying the Sony tax
Can you edit the colors in standard content to correct the green hue? What are your thoughts on the dark shadow differences with yours? I'm wanting a tv for gaming and movies but not being a competitive gamer I just want it to pop and handle dark scenes without immersion breaking dark scenes.

Anyone know which one has a better anti-glare screen so it doesn't seem like a mirror in a well lit room? I have an lg c1 in the room i want to upgrade but that thing is hard to watch in the daytime especially with dark scenes
Tough choice as the Sony is better for anti glare but the LG is brighter but does have more of a glossy screen. However It is better than previous models.
Picked up a C3 just two days ago after tossing up against a Sony A80L (Australia). Now considering switching to Sony (I preferred the LG stand). LG is a black mirror when off, even with negligible direct sunlight.
I would like to go with Sony Oled.
I did a real calibration on my Sony. 48 inch and have the most Natural picture I’ve ever seen on any TV.
What size lg c3 is in this video?
I almost bought the Sony model (55") and then discovered, to my disappointment, that the supplied legs are spaced so far apart that they are wider than my corner located glass TV stand (which is 80cm wide). Even though they give you two positions for the legs, they are still too wide apart. I'm not prepared to change my furniture just to fit a new TV, so I have opted for the LG which has a more sensible centre support stand. A bad design decision Sony!!
these are the 48" models right?
Can you get rid of the green tint on the C3?
The 65" C3 has good sound quality.
I agree with you, and I keep it on bitstream. It seems like that helps the bass perform better.
I have the Sony 55" A80J for my living room and just bought the LG 42" C3 for my bedroom. I like the picture better on the SONY but hate that it only has one hdmi port for gaming (really sucks if you have a PS5 and a XBOX SX). Now with the C3, until i fugure out the settings, the C3 is too bright (even if I dim it) and the blacks are just too dark. So each has their pros and cons.
Just look up the calibration settings on rtings def helps
I'm curious to know why you didn't choose the A95k 🤔
Because of the size. Here 's the comparison of two smaller oled tvs 42'' and 48''.
Anybody own a 48 inch oled and mainly use it as a TV ? Does it meet your needs? or do yall regret not getting a bigger size?
Wouldn't the size be based on your own specifications? E.g distance away from TV, size of the space, your own preferences.
@@Kevin_I I ended up getting the Sony A80K 55 inch for prime day
I had a 55 and a 50 and recently bought the 48 LG c3. I barley notice the size difference.
The screen size you choose should be determined by your viewing distance from the screen. Google will help with that.
To me, true to life picture quality and dark scene detail is most important in gaming and movie watching. 3ms input lag difference doesn't offset that in the least bit, nor will it make a difference to any gamer that isn't making a living gaming (If you think it does, then you think you're better than what you are). If you're making a living gaming, then input lag on a TV still doesn't matter, because you're sponsored by Asus or some other brand that will give you the best monitor on the market anyway.
Thanks SHS for a good review 👍
Sony for the win for me.
What you mean none support hdr 10 plus? That’s one of the featured items
Sony seems years ahead in quality and overall picture. Brightness isn't everything.
The C3 hasn't got a USB 3.0 port which is important if you have loads of content on a HD. USB 2.0 hasn't got enough power for a USB HD. I'm not sure whether the C3 even has a media player. So it's the Sony for me.
There's no display port on either of these, less compatible with PC GPU that doesn't have HDMI 2.1
in germany the lg is round 200€ cheaper and has great reviews so i bought this one.
LG C3 FTW!! Best OLED for the money HANDS DOWN.
Sounds like you can’t go wrong. I chose the A90K but I’m also a Sony person, so if I were LG it would have been the same choice
I just got a C3 LG and compared to my Alienware the difference isn't that big unless I'm going to nit pick
In a lot of your reviews comparing the Sony tvs to LGs, you mention Sony offers an accurate picture overall. Does that mean the LG isn't very realistic? (If I didn't have the Sony right next to it)
I have a gaming PC and I am curious to know which one of these monitors would be best for PC gaming.
I have the a90k only thing i wish it was a little brighter and wish it had 1440p but the sound and color is suberb and im blown away by it. Picture is clean and accurate based off this comparison the a90k has alot more color detail and accuracy but im sure the c3 crushes it in gaming
If want yer Picture brighter, go into picture settings and raise the Black level 10 to 15 Points. It looks so much better. If the skin tone of people is too Fake looking and colors are just too much, Go into and dial back the Color control to around 31 to36.
