  • Pass or Trash for this ILM Modular Helmet?
    The Pros:
    Comfortable
    Good value for the money
    Looks nice
    Bluetooth connectivity
    The Cons:
    Front of helmet is just a little close to my chin.
    Audio is a little tinny so it's a bit harder to understand what the other rider is saying at higher speeds with the wind noise.
    Overall, I like it and I'd recommend it for the money.

    Having issues trying to connect to the other helmet. The directions are vague at best.

    I love my ILM Bluetooth Helmet, just replaced the Clear visor with a Smoked one and that made it even better 👍🏻

    The thing that matter is the protection.

    Hit it with a sledge and hit a name-brand modular with a sledge. I want to see how protective these are. Bluetooth is nice, but not really useful if my brains are splattered all over the road.

      Well there is DoT, ECE, and Snell. To put it simply, DoT is the America's safety standard, ECE is Europe's, and Snell is safety equipment fit for a racetrack. So depending on where you live, any helmet you get will need either DoT or ECE. I should add that, although not a sledge hammer, they perform an "anvil" test.

    I have the Sena Outreach R and had to install a WHIM to hear my Infotainment system thru Bluetooth. And yes, it is also tinny. Adjusting Eq was no help.

      I know it sucks when you want to use a device for something that just doesn't get the job done for you. Ride safely.

    Is this the one thats currently on amazon??? Also does full face really make a difference or is this pretty safe to use??

      As long as the latches for the flip up are solid and secure, it's good to go.
      Full face, modular... Both light years better than half, 3/4 or anything else.

    bought 2 helments one charging port broke off, after 3 mounts... contacted ilm set them the information they requested?? crickets after that email them again crickets,,,,, WILL NOT BUY A NOTHING WITH ILM AGAIN. telling everyone I know they are shit for getting your helmet repaired . Spend the money and got with a company that stands behind there products.

    I bought the same one and returned it as I got continuous electronic buzzing (static) when connected bluetooth. I also didnt care for the charging port offering. Its kinda fiddly. I went with the Sena Impulse (which was double the price) which has way better quality sound. Funny how all these new helmets fit small. I went with the XL and its very hard to get you head in it without opening the chin guard.

    Would this accommodate a Cardo spirit hd system? Or is the control for the integrated Bluetooth in the way?

    my only issue with helmets like these is, lets say you get into an accident and your face slams into the floor. Wouldn't this shatter into your face?

    • @lowbudgetangler253
      @lowbudgetangler253 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's plexiglass. It doesn't shatter.

    • @lowbudgetangler253
      @lowbudgetangler253 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Or are you referring to the modular piece? Usually they do move a little bit in an accident when compared to a rigid full face but well built helmets like this usually don't have any issues. If you're regularly doing 120mph+ then I'd recommend against them and say buy an extremely nice rigid full face. Otherwise, they're safe.

    What’s head shape are these helmets? Can’t find the info on their website. I am having a hard time finding a round oval helmet that is modular.

    • @MotorcycleMonkey
      @MotorcycleMonkey  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In my opinion, I'd say this is more round and not oval inside the helmet. The good thing is that it didn't cause a headache from the top front where your forehead touches, but in full transparency, I only rode with this for about an hour. Usually, that's long enough to know if it's going to cause discomfort but wanted you to know the time riding with it.

    I purchased this helmet. Here's my review after three months of wearing. PRO: The helmet is comfortable. I recommend you purchase one size larger than the measurement chart suggests. Modular, visor, sun shield have nice operations but over time requires being forceful to latched. I rarely experience visor fogging. CONS: The sound quality SUCKS! Seriously...if you like listening to music.....don't bother purchasing this helmet . The wind noise is louder than most other helmets.

    • @MotorcycleMonkey
      @MotorcycleMonkey  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree with your review. My much more expensive helmet is also harder to latch and to keep raised. As far as the noise on the road, I didn't notice a huge difference but I do agree with the sound quality. No bass and a bit tinney. IF that's a word. Thanks for watching.

      I'm looking for the best Modular helmet, for Bluetooth capabilities and pinlock. Is the route to buy a Bluetooth capable helmet and add an after market?
      Help!

    • @Tracer414
      @Tracer414 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AequitasSaints It all boils down to the old cliche, "you get what you pay for." I believe this is a good helmet for the price. If you're looking for better sound quality then I recommend a Sena unit. However because the ILM helmet has an integrated Bluetooth communication system pre-installef in the helmet, I'm not certain if you can be remove it to install a aftermarket upgrade such as a Sena. Sorry I can't be at more help.

      I've had mine for about a year and have worn it a few dozen times and it's holding up well. The visor is nice and solid when you want to raise it to one of the multiple positions, a lot more solid than my bell qualifier.
