Check the folks at Living Traditions Homestead. They have been IPP pig specialists.👍🏾🇯🇲
Look at years prior to 2023!
❤❤❤
My three favorite homesteaders.
I would give jason a milk cow and real pigs. I would give Ben a two story farmhouse with 7 bedrooms. For Al... 2 months paid vacation once a year.
❤❤❤
Great ideas!!! The milk cow is my favorite. The Hollars only need 2 more bedrooms. They wouldn’t know what to do with all that space!
@@kimcritchfield5796 the Hollars can fill extra rooms with home canned goods and visiting family❤
Enjoyed the video
SPONSORSHIPS!! You guys are the first channel I’ve seen talk about Christmas and gift ideas!! Absolutely loved it and there are a lot of companies out there that should be sponsors for all of you!!!! 🥰
Hello Fellas from West Tennessee. I remember way back in the Hollar homestead videos seeing Ben making a knife from a piece of Damascus steel and it was a beautiful piece of art work. I would love to own a knife made by him 😀Thanks for sharing guys 👍🙌👊
Don't know if you realize how much good information you share with viewers. The three of you started talking about pigs and it turned into a great pig class 101. Also loved the Christmas gift part. 🥰
Love watching you guys! Al, I am going to recommend the Kune Kune for you. Because this is winter and your wife and daughter are both going to be in the barn. They will totally enjoy those pigs. I have always said that I would NEVER have pigs. And the Lord delt with me. Jason, I have watched you with your little burritos and how you developed with them...I lost my fear of pigs! I want to thank you for that!!!! I am 69 and have had that fear from a very young child when we had a sow that was sooo mean! She scared me so bad that I never ever wanted a pig. Now . . . I have the "three little pigs". Let me tell you about them. I got them because I had long grass that was laying over. Why is that bad you say? Because that meant I had MICE - the hawks could not see them in the long grass and they multiplied horrriffficallly!!! Then the snakes came to eat the mice... and I could not see the snakes....and this year..all my machinery was down. No tractor, mowers, only 1 weed eater for 3.75 acres. And I have buffalo grass and all kinds of herbs and amaranth - I was growing my own chicken feed...welllllll the possums and dude!!!! I had critters!!!! Couldn't afford a cow, or sheep, had goats - but you know they are browsers and mine graze because I tell them to...but that is a whoooole lot of green to eat! Only have 3. These little (6 month old piggies) came to live with me. I put them in the chicken coop. Taught them how to come to me. How to obey. They are so smart! Moved them from pasture to pasture. They are great grazers!!! Watched them to see what they ate. They do not eat white horehound. But everything else is fair game! they love the buffalo grass. I walked the pasture carefully that I have had them in the last 5 days and they have eaten the grass down but not pulled up the roots! And they have dug NO HOLES!!! I have worked hard on my pastures. I do not want holes or any thing dug up. I am moving them today and will let it rest a couple weeks and then put the goats in there. They like short grass. They do not like mice or snakes or possums! They are like me! No surprises! But those little piggies!!! They will clear those things right out of the pasture! I love them - They are my heroes!!! Al, I think that your daughter will have fun going out with Gina to milk if she can teach the pigs tricks! They are so cleaver! Sit is a favorite! Ben...I enjoyed watching you enclose your home. Please do not apologize for not being Superman! We can only do so much. I watch you with you little barefoot daughter..and weep for joy. That was me and my grandpa. No shoes and by his side always...those are the most important things. Your are Rockstar Dad! I am so Proud of all three of you guys.
Hey guys! This could be a gift idea for your wives. My husband got me a Camp Chef. My glass top oven cracked big time last time I used my pressure canner. (I know I'm not supposed to do that, but what's a girl to do? lol) Now I can do my canning on the back porch :) and cook out there too. Merry Christmas to you all.
I have one too. Awesome for all kinds of stuff.
😂Jason, you can go for a run even if it's cold. Even if it's snow on the ground. 😂
I live in Sweden and people who exercise have many options. Running, cross country skiing, down hill skiing, gym... and we take long walks.
We have a swedish saying "there's no bad weather only bad clothes".
Dress according to the weather and don't forget to wear proper shoes.
Al knows how to dress for every kind of weather.
I love running in the cold better than in the heat. I remember it being 21°F at the starting line of a rock-n-roll half marathon in Phoenix one year. I ran in shorts and a cotton t-shirt. Your hands hurt for the first 12-15 minutes but then you're warmed up and loose and never get sweaty. Nice!
@@PatrickPoet I used to love cross country skiing when it was zero. It was cold for the first 10-15 minutes and after that....gloves could come off.
Jason seemed insulting during this episode. His comment about when they moved out of their mobile home and moved into a REAL house...What an insult to those that live in manufactured homes! Wonder how Ben felt? His city slicker past shined through in this episode.
Your Christmas tree conversation was great. Brought back sweet memories.
Well said, all good options. Also mountain bike or fat bike. Running or biking on forest trails is a great choice if the roads are icy or if you want to get away from auto traffic. I live in a climate similar to Al's and just got a pair of trail shoes that has metal studs in the sole for running when the trails are icy. And one of my mountain bikes has studded tires. Like Anci said it's just a matter of dressing for the weather.
Y'all are so amazing...and your families are, as well. So, an idea that my wife and I have (married 52 years this month) is, rather than giving each other something that we really don't need, we try to set a plan for helping others. And, there are a thousand ways to help others. Sometimes, it's with money...and sometimes, it's a gift of something I've made out in the garage workshop and we give it to a church or local community organization that could make very good use of what I build.
So, as an example, I make a ton of lazy susans throughout the year. I made the mistake of posting a photo of an 18" lazy susan I made with cherry bark oak as a gift to my wife. But, when people saw that, the veritable tsunami began when people were clobbering me with "I want one of those, Larry!" or "where can I order one of your lazy susans?"--- then, I've been making them almost non-stop for nearly 2 years...and I'm in the middle of building 100 serialized lazy susans with laminations of purpleheart and hard maple, since the school colors for Mississippi State University are maroon and white. Well, those are the same colors for Texas A&M, Harvard, Boston College, and a couple of universities in Missouri. So, I don't see an end to all this. Plus, I usually engrave my "Maker's Mark" on the underside of the bottom platter. Well...
This lazy susan of some variety is a perfect gift for churches or organizations like Salvation Army who have lots of meals for the public. And, it's great advertising for me. Now, here's a weird idea, but this would be something y'all could do as gifts for somebody else.....
With the cutoffs from the maroon and white lazy susans, I made lots of coasters using the purpleheart and hard maple. I've sold boxes of those things for $5 each, which is about half the price of 4" coasters on Etsy. Now, MS State University athletic department has asked me to make 600(!!!!) of those things as Christmas gifts for their staff members and families.
So, there are tons of ideas y'all could make or do for somebody else....and with each one, you're passing out advertising for you, your family, your lifestyle, etc.
Sorry that I made this post so long, but I just got on a roll....and this excites me tremendously.
Thanks, guys, for how you have brought so many hundreds of thousands of us together via the outstanding work y'all do!
~ Dr. Larry S. Anderson • Tupelo, MS (birthplace of Elvis!)
Hi. Mississippi here too. Southwest of Tupelo.
I just celebrated my 43'rd anniversary
@@conniemoore3207 -- that's terrific! I've lived in Tupelo for 23 years since retiring from faculty position at MS State. My hometown is Starkville. Glad to find another Mississippian who follows these great homesteader fellas. I've been a subscriber of Lumnah Acres for several years.
I absolutely love these podcasts, I enjoy hearing you three talk about things, and hearing y'all laugh about things. The friendship between you guys is good to see too. Keep on cranking out the good podcasts, The only regret i have is finding it 3 hours too late, My own fault LOL Y'all have a blessed weekend!!
Hi guys,. Love the FRIDAY SHOPTALK ☕☕☕👍👍👍
I feel like I'm getting to know you much more. You're more relaxed now. GREAT JOB.
Treadmill is great for exercise. If you ride bikes, just get an attachment for the back tire. Just don't burn a hole in your living room carpet like
Justin Rhodes. Put it near a window to look outside. For a view. For gift Giving. I listen year round, what interests they have or if they saw something at a store. Hobbies. Day trips.
Gift Certificate. Homemade gifts. I ALWAYS Love a gift homemade coupon books
Write down a choir you'll do for the person. Cook them a special meal. Give a 2 hour break. Read them a story. ETC.
Take a walk and listen to the person.
Wow! Thanks so much for the gift ideas, making a list and loved the bucket idea, use instead of a box or stocking, all my guys will love this
Thanks for the ideas y'all. I'll have to look into a couple of those for my son...even though we're city folks. This hour goes by way too fast. Y'all have a Blessed week.
Sooooo much goodness!!!!blessings to y'all and your families in every way..ty..xoxo ❤
All ... talk with Kevin @ living traditions homestead about the IPP's. He would be a great source of info. His homestead is in Missouri.
Al you need to decorate that Charlie Brown tree with homemade decorations like stringed popcorn and kid made decorations
I live in Minnesota and our winter workout is moving snow ❄️ and more snow ❄️ and the big snows. In the summer it's miles pushing the lawn mower
I enjoy all the podcast. You guys mentioned some awesome gifts ... Al, with the moose on your land, are there permits to hunt them in your state? I've tried moose meat from Maine and I think it is superior to deer venison. Keep the podcast going!! 👍
Hello Gents, I purchase a Gloucester Old Spot heritage pig raised organic ally once or twice a year and they taste so good! Can’t wait till I can raise my own.
Ben, we never hear about your parents, siblings. It just occurred to me. Im glad you still have them❤
Kevin and Sarah from Living Traditions Homestead have experience with Idaho Pasture Pigs. I recommend contacting then for additional information if desired.
I enjoy your videos very much. Nice to get to know you all three in different ways from your normal Channels.
That's a great idea.
Hey Gang 👋, Ben can't wait to see you on FORGED IN FIRE tv series
Jason, some people check in on the Kunie piglets every time you post! 😅Good for you Jason. Don’t lose the Christmas spirit! 🙏🎄Keep the lights on! There are still kings and shepherds out there looking for a guiding light. 😘
@miephoex I love your commit. ⭐ Well said. ♥️
Living traditions homestead raise Idaho pasture pigs. They bred them for a few years . Then decided to just raise to eat. They love them. They live in Ava Missouri.. Al your barn is a beautiful design..
What! You flamed your bumper, your gonna have to show us that technique!
Traveling for holidays, I 100% get stuck doing all the traveling. Gas, arrange to have animals fed, the packing, freak out 5 hours of crazy drivers down 99 or 5, and the return. Its exhausting. Its just me, but its definitely underappreciated. So if i choose not to do it. I spend it alone or at a friends home. No leftovers, lol
Al if you can afford it financially and workload, you might consider getting two Berkshire/Duroc or other pigs that are used to clear land. These pigs would be raised in the area where you want to clear the land. Then in the fall they would be in your freezer. Then also get two Idaho Pasture Pigs that you will use to start your long term Pig Breeding Program. This way you'll be able to put Bacon/Pork in your freezer in the fall.
Al, Charlie Brown, Christmas trees are ALL the rage right now! Everyone l talk to is getting them! They even have C B artificial trees. Cracks me up!
Hey gifts for your wives was my thoughts too. You have incredible wives. And Love your podcast sure holds my attention. Have a great week .
Look into Living Traditions, they have/had IPPs (Idaho Pasture Pigs).
I was watching “True Grit Homesteaders Appalachian,, and they also did a homesteader gift idea giving pretty good on the tools as well
My guys all carry Leatherman, we even have back ups because Leatherman will repair them for free if you ship to them, we have the back ups so the guys still have a Leatherman while theirs are being fixed! I can tell you why they quit making the one handed ones.... They pinched the hand... Ask me how we know😅
For the IPP check out Living Traditions Homestead. They had them and bread them. They have quite a bit of info on them.
😂😂 Ben, you reminded me: dad raised on Ontario, CAN dairy farm. He said they never locked doors then. Once the ranger came in checking for unlicensed deer possession. Grandma was there, he never checked (maybe) under a bed, cupboard wherever, for the canned deer meat they DID have. Speaking of killed on property. 😂
👋🇨🇦
Some families here in Missouri have a habit of purchasing Hunting and/or Fishing licenses for their family members at Christmas. The effective date is March 1st to end of Feb. but the state makes them available in time for Christmas stocking stuffers. Some do one or the other, and some to the combo license for those who do both. Kind of silly really but a nice family tradition.
Never get tired of you guys!! The gift ideas are perfect. I know what to get my brother now!! ❤️
I have found in my opinion found the perfect water hose. It’s called Zero G and they are almost bulletproof and resistant to weather degradation. I have two of them that I’ve had for over five years
Don’t let your pig near it!! Ben talked about not being able to drive over it. Splits easy.
Laughed when the bucket of items was suggested. My husband 's hobby was woodworking, and he made beautiful things.
When asked what he wanted for gifts it was always clamps. He'd say you never have enough clamps!
Hey Gang 👋 Allways nice to see the Three Musketeers 👍you are amazing, inspirational and motivating for others to follow ìñ your footsteps, God's Good Blessings to you and your beautiful family's keep up the great work love U guys XOXOXO stay safe and healthy
Former pig farmer here. The rule of thumb used to be white breed sows especially Yorkshire make the best brood sows. Large litters and good mothers. For boars we always went with Hampshire, Berkshire or Duroc, they produce lean meaty butcher hogs. If you plan to keep gilts you raise for brood sows you will need to change out yours boars annually. We started with four piglets and ended up with about six hundred when we sold out.
I would like to see you guys have guests on your podcast. Simeon from the Simeon and Alex youtube channel, formerly known as the Swedish Home Stead, would make a great guest.
Check out living traditions Homestead. They have those pigs for a while.
Gerber still make the one handed fling out plier multi tool. Just a heads up. They make a couple of different one handed multi tools. The only multi tools I will buy are leatherman and gerber.
The fine dining choice of pork that I served as a chef are Berkshire thick cut, double bone pork chops.
My Mom had a farm in WV, she used three Charlie Brown trees to make one bigger CB tree.
We raise IPPs and they are amazing. They are super sweet, they don't really root, and they love their hay. They are pretty darn tasty. We have had a record of butchering them at 10 months. We did butcher a pai at 11 months. We get a good amount of lard, but we get an amazing g amount of meat also. We have raised Hampshire, Berkshire, Yorkshire, Red Wattle, and Mangalitsa. The meat is red and well marbled and tasty. Red like the Berk, marbled like the Mangas but with way more meat, better temperaments than the Red Wattles and the others for sure.
Butcher weights for us and our customers, we butcher, too, have been consistently between 260 and 320.
We're in NE Texas. We've raided lots of breeds and over many years we like these IPPs the best. Happy pigs like the Kunu Kunes and less trouble than the rest. Less food inputs also.
Hey Al, if you happen to come up to Maine this coming year to Augusta you have to take a side detour when you go back to the Liberty Tool Co. in Liberty Maine. Check them out. Only about a 30 minute drive from the August Civic Center, just a thought.
Good afternoon, Al, Ben and Jason. So many things in today's show, I would say to Al, NO on the Kune-Kune pigs. They are cute, but take two years to grow, and would become PETS, much like Ben's stear, and Jason kisses his little piggies at night, I cant eat a pet !!
Jason, use a block and tackle on your winch to pull or picking up pigs and you can have twice pulling power with half the winch power
You can pick up the world with enough pulleys as long as you find an anchor point. Just a longer pull for more weight.
Another great podcast . . . a fun entertaining listen. Cheers.
Hey guys...l say it every time...this is the best vid yet!!! Such a relaxed shop talk....BTW...got to say how much pleasure your videos on your channels give to this 86yo old lady. No kidding, l'd be curious about the average age of your viewers....my 87yo sister and l are both big fans of all you guys....anyway... many thanks....
My husband and I don’t buy gifts for each other so we always get something useful for the both of us like 1 year we put new gravel in our driveway. 1 year we got a tractor and the next 2 years we just ate a good meal since we went all out on the Kubota tractor😂
Hey, this cast is getting better each week. The questions and advice you provide each other is so valuable to other Homesteaders. The answers are given with rationale which is so important to those listening or watching.
All of you seem to be getting more and more comfortable with this format this week.
Thanks and keep up the good work on your channels as well as this format.
Al.... re; what breed of pig....the folks at Living Traditions Homestead got Idaho Pasture Pigs ...nice temperament don't get really big...they decided to go back to just raising feeder pigs, as breeding took more time from their other projects. Anyway, you might look at that breed. Ooops...l see you already know about the breed.
Zip ties and duct tape for Christmas!!! Hope you guys live past the 25th! Hog hair scrapers!!! For the wife?? Somebody help these guys. I would have suggested a new set of towels or sheets, but you may be needing the extra bedding. Lol.
Ben, l love your purple shirt. 💜 Looks like you're ready for date night! ❤❤❤ Get ready, Meg! The twins are babysitting!
Those are great gifts... for guys! Maybe here and there the gifts can be for both men and women, but I'd love to see you do a podcast on gifts primarily for women. (I'll definitely be on the look-out for a great Leatherman!) Meg has a lot of kitchen tools I'd love to have'; that new canner she got is like a dream come true! Then, there's the new bread mixer she's using. So far, all I've been able to buy for myself are the cookbooks she uses.
Gina's vegetable chopper works like a slice of butter compared to the one I bought! And I already got the steam-release that looks like a dragon for the Instant Pot she used to use... only to find out that it doesn't fit my pressure cooker.
So how about it, Guys? A gift-list for the women in your lives next podcast?
The Lumnahs do a Charlie Brown Christmas tree. 🤣
You three should look into “Titan Straps”. I promise you, you will LOVE them!
Cameron Lawson, out of Bozeman Montana, invented them.
Yes Al! IPP PIGS are what is go with. You're on point work them I feel.
Love the chat guys!!!
Kevin and Sarah from Living Tradition Homestead have had a lot of experience with IPP’s.
We got lucky and we found a great carpenter so we are changing out the windows on my 1925 house a little at a time as much as we can afford but we found this Carpenter that gave us a great price and the work that he does is excellent, and he is a great craftsman Oh my God he did such a great job. He caulked very well and he also paints the inside and the outside of the windows for you, he did it just in time for my Thanksgiving gathering with my family in our dining room windows. I will definitely use him for any other things I have coming up ahead. 🔨
Add to the list: Different types of gloves. a 4" Crescent wrench. Same size of Vice Grip Pliers , Outside door step boot scrapper/brush to clean boots. Simple -expensive bolt bins. A trip to tractor supply and buy a few pounds of different sized bolts, nuts and washers.
Al: Kevin and Sarah from Living Traditions Homestead have tons of experience with Idaho Pasture Pigs. They are a great source of information. Always a great day listening to you three.
YES!! @tinatippin5705, I was gonna suggest the same thing. Kevin and Sarah really, really like their IPPs, don't they?
Idaho Pasture Pig gets big in 10 months they have the good personalities of the Kunes. We had a breeding trio for 3years really liked them. The meat was great.
Jason, you don’t need no treadmill! Just make a trail on your land to jog on even when it’s cold. Far better for your health to be out in the daylight and fresh air than running on a treadmill indoors. Or even just intentional walking 🚶♂️
My best water hoses are made for RVs. I like them because they are drinking water safe. I bought my first one 25 years ago, and still use it.
Living Traditions Homestead did Idaho pasture pigs. You might give Kevin and Sarah a call to see what their experience was with them
I would raise IPP’s. They are great personality. Rarely root and feeders grow out in 10 months. We have a 5 year old granddaughter who sets in the pasture with them and she hand feeds them. Meat is great we don’t breed but raise feeders. Not to big to handle
Al, you need to plant a bunch of deer sheds around the farm for Giner to find lol
I know that Kevin and Sarah from living traditions Homestead loved the IPP!!
Living Traditions Homestead raised the Idaho Pasture Pigs for a while. I think they decided to simplify their lives is why they got out of raising them. They seemed to have a great temperament.
I was going to ask about Christmas decorations. I thought Ben would do some for buggy.
One of the best homemade presents I ever received: buttons! My stepdad made three different style sets of wooden buttons for me that he made from cutting slices from a dowel. What a treasure! I actually did use them on clothes that I made, and (decades later) I still have them.
Ok I got out my Leatherman and my Gurber.
Getting hubby a diamond circular saw blade. I wrote it down, and will get the guy at the small local hardware store for help.
We had neighbors in Niagara Fall, NY run everyday in the winter. Snow, rain sleet.
I’m the same way we buy whatever we want but if it’s something big or something that’s gonna cost a lot then we discuss it… but I do like gift cards because sometimes that gives me some time to get out and shop around and get something that I (me) 🎁
Homestead gifts are great (assuming you know that it is something the recipient wants). Over the years I've received a table saw, seeds, a dehydrator, warm coat, hat, and work gloves, GreenStalk towers, tons of gardening books, garden tools, and this year a head lamp.
I bought a steel hose. Pricey, but they don't kink or split.
The secret to giving gifts is buy for the person, not for the farm. Then think of the 5 senses: see, hear, smell, taste & touch. The perfect gift covers all 5 senses, in my opinion. Something like a movie they’ve been wanting to “see” or a cd of their favorite music to “hear”, something sweet to eat for “taste”, soft clothes for “touch” and maybe some perfume or cologne to “smell”. Thanks for another nice broadcast 👍🏻
Leatherman Free P2 or P4??? been carrying the P2 on my belt for a year now! I like the P2 because the blade and scissors are the main tools and the rest are still accessible on the exterior handles with the push of your thumb!
WHAT? NOT A NECK TIE? Or SOCKS? THOSE USED TO BE THE BEST GIFTS FOR DADS IN THE 1980’s! 😂
Ben I
Love the zero g hose. But don’t let your pigs near it! One chomp and it’s toast!
Ben or Jason One of you guys needs to see if they would let you take some video in there. We want to see it. (General Store)
I'm always surprised when y'all get to the end. I've got attention deficit issues out the wazoo and usually by the time people get to fifteen minutes I bail or have to stop and come back, but for y'all for whatever reason it's just easy to stay with you. Thanks. I guess it helps that I've been watching all y'alls channels for years. That's even weird. I tend to get worn out of channels, even one's I love. I don't catch every one of Jess's channel or Justin's channel like I used to but I watch all of y'alls after years of watching. I don't know if that's more weird or cool. It's something, lol:)
I totally agree, I haven't watched justin in a couple years. I check in on jess once in a while. I think it's because they hire people to do so much of their work. They no longer seem like a relatable homestead channel
Thanks guys. Loving these chats! Take care!
Hey Gang 👋, JUST A SUGGESTION- when I was raising pigs 30 years ago, I had a friend who had a restaurant and I would every morning come and exchange garbage cans that his employees would only put leftovers from day before, no napkins or anything, just left overs, it really helps with the cost of the feeding and the pigs loved it. You may want to consider because my friend thanked me because he didn't have to pay for the disposal.
A guy in my area use to go to a cookie factory nearby and buy the "floor sweepings" from under the factory belts. Dropped cookies, broken ones, They swept them into a pile daily at end of shift and would just push them off the loading dock into his pickup truck. He would use those near the end to "finish off" getting them to weight for sale. Really cheap high calorie feed. Those were some happy pigs eating my favorite brand of cookies.
@@markpashia7067 😂 old farmers were much wiser 👍
Al I recommend the Idaho Pastor Pigs. Great pig.
I went to Iraq as a contractor and all I had to build a 60 x 100 steel building was two crescent wrenches and a Leatherman Wave.
Love this podcast..... I'm a single female...live in SoCal, but just moved to the High Desert ..im looking to grow things.... I'll never butcher but at least I know how Thank To You ❤❤❤❤
Jason, you put up fence this week.
I ran for years, 6-8 miles 4 or 5 times a week, rain, shine, cold or not--and I'm one state over from Al, in Vermont. I'm obsessive, though. Now, I'm 74 and don't run anymore obviously, but I have a stationary bike. For years, we kept a treadmill in our barn, and me and my neighbor would use it in the winter. It was really nice to have! Great ideas for gifts, and happy Holidays!!
Do I have to have a beard to be a homesteader?😊
Yes, and a flannel 😆
Jason I don't think you realize how you insulted Ben and Meg and anybody that lives in a mobile home. The comment when speaking about Christmas lights @22:69 saying "when we moved into a REAL house!" OMG you don't get it. Not everyone wants to live in bigger and better and always wanting more. You are stuck on the "trendy" stuff from Christmas tree's to lights etc. That is the city boy showing through. Sorry but I am a little butt hurt over your comment. I LOVE my manufactured home. I do all my canning, baking and food processing in my kitchen just like Meg does. Your mobile home was designed poorly if Lorraine complained about space. From what I can remember you didn't have any counter space or cupboards?
I visited my daughter when she lived in Redondo Beach CA. I live in CT. In CA everybody (it seemed) was outdoors. Walking, running, skateboards, bikes, yoga on the beach, exercise -even treadmills - outdoors, surfing. Hoards of people outdoors everywhere. My daughter also camped, hiked, trail walked, mountain climbed. You name it. Here in CT I m outdoors most of warm times of the year. Kayaking, walking, trail hiking, all the yard work and gardening. Come mid December through Mid March I m hunkering down indoors! Too cold!!
Finally. Got to sit down and listen...having my Sunday morning coffee...love your shop talk...gave some good suggestions. Keep on homesteading!🌲💟
Living Traditions Homestead (youtube) raises Idaho Pasture pigs. They have been successful with breeding.
I want all these things on the list! I've got the the same hose you're talking about, Ben. The company is a good company because I had an issue with mine and G5 customer service had me take a couple photos of it and had me destroy it and cut it up and they sent Mia digital gift cards to Lowe's for the exact same amount I spent when I show them my Lowe's account purchase history!
I finally bought myself a hose link! I saw how much Laura and Aaron love them on the garden answer channel. It's loosening up but at first that house was pretty stiff! I had to get the long 82 ft one and put it on a pole so I can go 360 °
I think if I had to pick a gift it would be a fourth Hori Hori! I keep wearing those things out! Maybe I need to get a really high quality Garden knife from somewhere else. LOL when I first moved here in 2015 I actually used one to cut my grass back away from the sidewalk. My new neighbors probably thought I was crazy sitting down on the sidewalk for an entire day. But it's never growing back and I see other people fooling with their edge all the time. Mine's the sharpest in the neighborhood. But I'm sick of wasting my time doing stuff like that. I'm ready for my Homestead in 2024. I've totally outgrown my Quarter acre corner. I'm not your typical gal. I'm taking my hose link, my gorilla carts, my other tools, my Harvest Right, my stoneware and my KitchenAid stand mixer. I'm not worried about all the things inside the house. I'm just naming a few things I wouldn't leave without!! I need some Hisea boots, Santa!
My husband trucker is impossible to buy for.
Have a 2 year old WESTERN Star semi, a new one arrived 2 months ago and we just took delivery on a second new Western Star.
Have 6 trailers, different axle numbers and 3 new flatbeds due in by the end of the year.
What do I get him,new chains and rachet binders, new cargo straps, new tool box full of tools?
AL @Lumnah Acres check with Living Traditions Homestead. They have talked very well about the Idaho Oasture Pig breed.
